Damn cold this morning but it is great to be back riding.
FYI: was up at Destination Daytona this Sunday, and was told by Bruce's daughter, that they are going to be moving the Buells over to the Arlene Ness / Ducati / Triumph store. Probably right after the first of the year.

The wife asked for a wish list for Christmas so i fired off a bunch of buell stuff. Looks like ill be getting a gift card to target!!!

Complete analysis would take awhile (couple of weeks) but a rush status for just preliminary results would only take 2 days. I would expect the FBI prelim. results (which would ID the remains) will be released late Sunday nigt or Monday.

Yes I'm back on the road... Got the bike back last Friday after much discussion with Ken at Seminole when after three visits they still could get the windscreen right. However, after a 45 minute talk with the operation manager Steve, things got taken care of.
Hope you are recovered. I'm planning on Barnies tomorrow. Hop to see EVERYONE (or at least someone) there.

I went over to Sam's house yesterday afternoon and we changed the steering head bearings out in my bike. It was definitely a two-man job.

There were also security fasteners behind the fly screen that needed to be removed which would have caused a major roadblock for me had I attempted this at home on my own, but fortunately Sam had a kit of those sockets.

It took us about 3 hours total and perhaps could be done by both of us again in two or less now that we know what we're doing.

The bike rode like new on the ride home and the lower bearing was most certainly bad once removed. The upper was OK.

Thanks to Sam for his hospitality and expertise. Once home MaryAnn said, and I quote, "you got that #ucker fixed, eh?" (she's not fond of motorcycles). So, my new pet name for the bike is "#ucker".

Note, to install steering head bearings if you don't have the Harley tool to draw them in, a 36mm socket is the perfect size to contact the outside of the bearing.
