Nuts,
No need for the necked down 22lr known as the MachII especially since they have close to the same trajectory at least for the first 100 yards. Then yours kinda craps out whilst mine still enjoys at least another 65 yards.
I likes having a squirrel gun that can handle the occasional raccoon and fox that might wander by. Just think the money I save on not having to unload a clip on a raccoon will balance out the difference in ammo cost .
I've given up on the .444 and am now giving strong consideration to a old timey percussion muzzleloader kit. I figure when the season is over it'll give me a neat project and any game taken with it will have quite a bit more meaning since I did some of the work building it.
The kit I'm looking at is rated a 3 outta 5 for difficulty. Needs inletting, browning of the metal parts and stock finishing.
Me thinks Nuts will get sucked into the madness when he sees the fun I have doing mine.

Charlie,
You know of any place to hunt varmints (including armadillos) down there? Me and Nuts need a reprieve from this freakin' cold weather hunting.

NUTS is getting a reprieve from the cold. I'll be in Sunnyville for a whole week starting Sunday.

Jaxson, do you still have that helmet bag? Probably not, I'm sure you traded it for a used piece of chewing gum or some other priceless oddity.

Nuts,
You snooze you lose buddy! Tried calling but it went straight to voicemail.
It was a glorious day homey! Misting and heavy fog plus I had the place all to myself.
Saw 3 nice sized does and a BIG flock of turkeys. Took two shots and got two kills. Only saw a total of 4 but couldn't get a shot at the other two.
The honey hole delivers yet again

Charlie,
Thats my new tack driving 17 HMR. Its basically a necked down, shouldered .22mag shooting a 17gr bullet.
Cut little round that supposedly can take annything from chipmunks to coyote with the right selection of bullets.
They make ballistic tips, hollow points and jacketed bullets for them that mushroom just like a big game bullet.

I was gonna go ahead and try it on a turkey today but I hate cleaning them and don't like eating them either. Nuts digs em' so I might whack one and breast it out for him since I'm a good friend like that.

Well it wasn't too fun the other day before I spent time really dialing it in. I musta took 12-14 shots and had 2 squirrels to show for it. They knew they were safe too because instead of moving non stop they started sitting on rocks, logs and trees just watching the fun.

Alright I can tolerate this no more from Suzi-Q! It seems as i ride either on pavement or gravel or dirt, at a speed between 15 and 25 mph the bike seems to fight me. The steering head bearings feel smooth with no play when I hold the neck and rock the back backand forth with the brake applied.

The bike will track straight until a steering input is needed. Once I turn to avoid something in the way, it takes more force than usual to get it back to center; which in turn, has me doing the exact same thing on the other side.

I checked the tire pressures before the ride this afternoon and I have 18 front and 18 rear. I have run with lower front pressures and found the same thing happening. I was told my front tire is crap, but it worked wonderfully on Scarlett. The rear is a DOT trials tire and I was also told this could be "pushing" the front tire. Now I noticed the problem for the first time about a month ago. This happens to be the first real dirt ride with the ne rear tire. Should I just go back and start from scratch with two "normal" dual-sport tires? Or do I have other gremlins? I do need to get an even taller set of risers or bars for my tall self.

So I took the bike over the closest dirt road and to my surprise, they had the road all torn up and muddy. Horrible shame! Yes, I bailed it once. After righting myself, I said aloud: "Dickhead, you're alone out here." I was later lucky enought o see a doe and 4point buck running alongside the road. They cleared a fence in front of me without missing a stride and plowed into the river. They hopped their way across the rushing water and immediately dropped their tails, so that I couldn't see them. And I couldn't, I'd already seen enough! Went by to visit the Mrs. and show her how muddy I was. She was oh, so, very proud. NUTS

I should say...this primarily occurs while I am seated negotiating easy terrain.

Thanks for the wonderful, thought intensive responses.

Just for the KTM remark I'm going to do the Turtlehugger special, with a twist: I'm going to cruise up and down Ft.Lauderdale beach at 15 mph and gawk at all the pretty young (female) things basking in the sun. Let's see you top that on Wiley drive. NUTS

Nuts,
If you figure it out, please let me know!
Besides the crooked bar issue, the 650 does pretty much the same thing. Just tooling along on dirt or pavement, any steering input more than what's required to keep it straight results in a very unnerving feeling that the bike could "pancake" at any time. Actually, I notice it more on pavement. The C606's are still in fairly decent shape too.

Maybe we just need to grow some balls and go through the corner WFO on one wheel, spinnin??

Wait, i just remembered, there's a newly upgraded rear shock on there, and I haven't played with it yet.

Have fun styling along up and down the beach...........................those pretty things are probably more accustomed to "Ole Men "gawking at them than Wiley Drive.Just be careful with the front-end in deep sand........You wouldn't want to embarrass yourself.(you never know who might have a camera)

As for the steering problem, you didn't say you were sitting down at the time............You sure your knees weren't hitting the bars?

Tank, I don't know why your having the same problem..........Your legs are to short to have knees.

Consensus at breakfast was a worn front tire. So I'll replace the front and see what happens. I had four riders ask me this week: "hey, when we going dirt riding?" The annswer of course is soon.

Breakfast was in Paint Bank and afterward I took the long way home. Round a bout 125 miles today on Huckleberry. With it being relatively warm today I forgot how much motorcycles LEAN!

If you want to make yourselves ill look on weather.com and type in zip code 33325. Then think of NUTS toolin around the 'ole stompin grounds (the palest rider ever!)

p.s...

I challenged the nephew(9) to an arm wrestling match.

I let him use both hands, and I picked him up off the ground.

I know it would be good form to let him win, but...

he needs a strong role model at this point, and I'm it.
We also flew his new helicopter in the house. Cool toy, I want one too!

Damn dude! That iguana is enormous!
I hope you didn't take my advice and try to grab it cause if you got tail whipped by that thing your currently missing a leg!
That is actually a VERY desirable color morph that would bring a handsome price on the market. You wouldn't get rich off of one or two but it would get you the guide gun you've been lusting after.

Tank,
Tell me more about this RC chopper. I was thinking about getting a gas powered RC car but the copter might be a bit more fun. From what I've read they are insanely hard to fly.

Charlie,
Don't worry old friend. I still look to you for guidance. Nuts tends to kick you in the groin when he gives you the truth but you have a way of dishing out sound wisdom in a gentler fashion .

Charlie,
I beg of you please no more talk of riding Nuts good. The thought is disturbing to me and is ruining my Christmas cheer .

Nuts,
Your on your own with the iguanas Holmes. I can get you in touch with some peoples but I've had my fill of wrestling those little dinosaurs back before they became so well known.

Tank,
Didn't you used to do the RC cars? If so give me some good ideas on a gas powered one. I want something sporty and not too difficult to build. I'd also like something thats pretty large scale.
If I'm mistaken and you haven't worked with them then please disregard my inquiry.

Merry Christmas to all and to all.................LATER!

Torts,

Yep, electric only.
I built an RC10 buggy,
and an RS4 Pro.

Never raced at all. Built just for personal pleasure, and well worth the price, minus radio eqipment. That radio stuff will eat you alive.

If you have the opportunity to build one, and have a place to run it, it's totally fun and addictive. The folks that run at the tracks take no prisoners though.

I'd be happy to donate a buggy to a good cause, but I will never part with the carbon fiber beauty that is RS4.

Go electric! Gas is high maintenance, but you can recharge batteries.

If you want pics, ask after the holidays. I'll have to dig them out of hiding.
