Bolt... I will have to check it out... but let's not assume anything... and discourage a new Buller. Roninxb... If any of my online stupidity has caused you to be doubted... thus being discouraged from posting... please don't let it affect you. Anyone... Does anyone know when Sam will be back in town... he called me last night... and either my cell phone dropped the call or his... I NEED TO KNOW WHEN I SHOULD GO INTO HIDING!!! Frankster... You are the Sergeant at Arms... right? If you tell Sam he can't hurt me... he has to do what you say... right? Thunder... When ya gonna start that work on your bike... I ain't gonna learn nuttun by looking at pictures. I asked Sam to let me know when he will be resurrection his XB... so I can watch, help & learn... but now I might be afraid to be alone in a strange city in Kansas so there is no chance of me "disappearing". KCBill... please keep in mind... when it comes to SHAAARROOONNN... I can get in trouble all by myself!!! THANK YOU!!!!! EVERYPEOPLE... JEEESSSSSUUUUSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA............ I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to leave again for Texas tommorow morning and will return Wed. or Thurs. so any replys to this post won't be read again for a few days. I realize there is a lot of speculation about what is going on in my life so I thought I would give you all a quick summary..... The XB is 100% back together, Right now it is sporting a 12 headpipe and a Latus slip-on. However, I still have a bit of a problem. Upon completing reassembly of the motor, I started the bike to listen for any signs of a problem, and amazingly everything sounded OK, alot quieter than the Force pipe set-up to be sure. I am pretty pleased with the looks of this set-up due to the sleeper image it gives the bike. I checked all the fluids and warmed the bike, I then took it for a quick spin around the block. At the end of the street where I turn right, the ass end of the bike takes a leave of traction (brand new tires and 38 degree roads are not a good combo). So here I am in the middle of a right hander dirt tracking it without getting my foot down. I am thinking "isn't this perfect? freshly completed rebuild, new tailpiece (battletrax wound), brand new powdercoated wheels and tires....the bike actually looks better than new and here I go twenty five feet from my driveway and I am about to shovel asphalt, no gloves, no helmet..... perfect" It's actually amazing how much info can go through your mind in a split second. Also amazing how overwhelming the relief when the ass snaps to attention and all is better again. So no dings, and the lap of my hood accomplished I pull back into the garage to check fluids again. I put the bike back on the stand start it up again to let it warm fully, time to crack open a beer and celebrate. then I notice it...... the headpipe off the front cylinder is slowly turning red. followed nby something like this: shut the bike off, finish beer open another, ponder questions, drink beer, re-think PCIII functionality as I understand it, drink another beer, bike is now cold, start bike again, sure enough front pipe is turning red! shut bike off, grabs another beer, turns light off and leaves garage! I didn't do any work on the front cyl. during this teardown. So here's my possible problem/s: 1. a clogged injector 2. injector possibly not plugged in fully(unlikely) 3. a pinched fuel line 4. PCIII issues..... not running proper map???? I don't remember where in the RPM range the PC starts affecting fuel delivery. or if it retains it's mapping through a prolonged power outage. I distinctly remember that it doesn't do anything to alter idle? hmmmm? maybe I plugged the injctors in opposite cylinders and they are out of time with the motor(possible yet would be symtomatic at both cyl's right?). I will have to make some phone calls for this Q. and check my wiring again. 5. It's also occurred to me that the different headpipe and can may have some sort of wierd reversion characteristic that is causing pressure waves off the rear cylinder to hinder evacuation of the front. but I really don't think so? 6. It's also possible I guess, that the bike WILL run extremely lean at idle due to the bigger bore and standard fuel delivery and I just didn't notice it with the ceramic header. 7. leaking exhaust port gasket? or intake gasket? just thought of this one! will check this tonight. anybody got any ideas before I start wasting the professionals time? I will be out of town and unable to read replys or tinker for the next few days so think about it and comment if you like. So that is where I am at right now with the XB, I have started the teardown on the X1 but haven't gotten very deep into it. Can't think of anything else going on...... How are all of you? Frank? you feeling better? Tripper, seriously? back in the neighborhood? Derek, did you get a look at the swingarm? likey? Paul, I feel your pain dude, Topeka played me the same tune on a front rotor replacement for 2 1/2 months. It does get frustrating. hang in there dude! Rusty, those of us that don't do business with Worth, most likely have a reason. I feel they have completely F*CKED me at both the north store and the south store, which prvented me from ever even walking into the Blue Spring location. I am glad someone is having a good experience there. I also think we should be encouraged to voice our opinions about or local dealers good or bad if only to help others find a decent shop. My experiences with Worth ended when I bought my XB in Topeka, which has been a while....maybe things have changed I hope so. Central has been REALLY good to me and I don't mind saying so. Richie, I don't think so!!!!!hahahahaha, every day is special Ronin, welcome and enjoy look forward to meeting you as soon as I get a day off for another bike night. I had my right shoulder rebuilt last Monday, I go in to see the Orthopedic surgeon today and get my dressing changed and post surgical evaluation. Hopefully I can get started on rehab exercises this week. It was long overdue and I sure hope it does not take too long to get back in riding condition | ||
