Bart, thanks for the comeback. I must have just missed you. I think it was about 5 minutes to 11am when I went by the circle k. Went on out to the races, but didn't see anyone with a face like you have on your profile! Maybe that is a good thing!
Watched most of the races and came on home. Catch you guys down the line somewhere.

Tonto,
Sorry I missed you, we hung out in Andrews Pits for awhile, and then went across to the stands to watch a few of the races, including the two that Andrew raced.
So, there were a pretty good show of support for Buell and Andrew.
Here are some of the pics I took today:

A shot of Andrews bike

Andrew poses with his bike

Some of the competition

Here Andrew is picking his way thru the pack

He was pretty much by himself most of the first race

down the back straight

Showing good form

In the second race, Andrew had a bad start, but wasted no time, working his way through the pack, he was quickly battling for third place

He made short work of that guy and set his sights on second place

It was exciting watching him working on this guy in the curves, and finally taking him on the back straight. A couple more laps and he may have taken 1st!

It was good seeing everyone, and meeting a few new folks. The Buell crowd is growing again. : )

Bart- great action shots. Great to see such a good turnout to support.

For those who haven't met Andy great guy. I hung out with him sat, and watched a few of his practice laps as well. Couldn't have asked for a better day to race. I may have to look into a track bike now. Uh-oh.

Sorry guys, I couldn't make it in time. Work ran later than usual and I only had a 2 hour break then had to be back.
I hope I can make the next one. Glad to see Andrew and Buell did so well! Big thanks to Bart for posting the pics.

Hey Bart,
I'm on for tuesday afternoon if your still good for it. I'll be over by 3:00.

We really have to put together a big Buell ride soon!

Andy, outstanding job on your second place finish. What an incredible achievement after starting dead last. You’re the man…. It was great to finally meet Bart and the rest of the AZB crew. What a diverse and interesting clan of Buell junkies. Great people and a lot of fun. We need to do it again soon.

It meant alot to me to get some support out there for the first time, it was especially great to see everyone in the stands cheering me on. I look forward to see you all again and if you need anything with your bikes please call me at ahd for service or advise.thanks-andrew

between saturday practice and sunday races the fees come to about $300, and doesn't include tires, fuel, food or tow vehicle fuel. now can you see why its so hard to make it back each month.-andrew

i talked to Tom, and his foot is doing ok. he can walk on it with an ankle brace without ant problems. just can't wear gym shoes because his ankle moves around to much.

andy how much of your race overhead is covered by sponsorship? for us newbs to the game how much for an average weekend?

do you know if the guys at ridetime are in on friday? if so i may ride up to visit you guys.

sponsorship only kicks in if you place and then you have to wait 3 months for the money. i typical race weekend costs about 7-8 hundred if you use new tires.

i don't know if there open on friday, you'd have to call them and see.-andrew

anybody up for a ride on Friday? It may be wet, but I'm going anyway... ; )

As to helping Andrew get on the track again, I think we should shoot for the January race, that should give us time to come up with the $800 he will need.
I'll kick in $100 to get it started.

and Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Hey Bart,
I might be able to go. When do you want to leave and how long we gonna be out?
I'm gonna have to find a rain suit too! I got half way to work today and got caught in the rain.
I had to go back home and change and drive the cage in to work.
I hate the cage.

And I will put in a hundred also. I know how expensive racing can get.
Would love to go on the Friday ride but I will be at the bottom of the grand Canyon.
I go there a LOT!
Maybe next time.

hey guys i'm not looking for money to get to the track,if you guys want to chip in so you have another place to go and be able to root for the team then thats cool.

the december race is more important than the jan race because its the last race before the season ends and its also a double points race. i need about 90 points to get my expert plate. that would be awesome to get it my first year especially after missing four races will a melted motor.everybodies interest and support is awesome, after going it alone with just me and the family all year having visitors and my own cheering section is awesome. i feel like i'm representing all the az buellers out there, working to get all buell owners the respect you all deserve.-andrew

oh and the $800 is for a full tilt weekend with full fees, fuel, new tires. i can do it on a shoe string budget of about 400 since i can reuse the front tire and already have the fuel.-andrew

Bart,
I'm up for a ride friday!!! I need a time and location so I can leave early enough. I'm coming up from the Deep South of Ft Huachuca. I haven't rode with any Buells since March Badness last spring. To be honest I haven't seen a Buell on the road in AZ yet.

John,
I've got a 1-piece Harley rainsuit you can have, if you want it. It should keep you dry for awhile. (Just remember, like ALL things Harley, it probably leaks!) LOL

Andrew,
$400 should be doable for this crowd, looks like your halfway there, I'll drop off my donation when I drop off the bike next week...
When is the race date and times, for December?

Rotor,
Since your the only one that can make it Friday, I'll meet you on YOUR side of town, LOL.
I used to live in Tucson, and remember riding up to meet with the Phoenix Buellers back in the day.
So if you want to come up the back way to Globe, I can meet you at the Chevron gas station in Globe at the junction of US60 & US70.
Meeting time depends on how early you want to leave your house, I would assume it will take you at least 3 hours to get to Globe from Huachuca.
We can ride up to ShowLow thru the Salt River Canyon, have lunch, and come back the same way.
I usually like to loop through ShowLow and back down to Payson, but that would add a couple of hours to the ride and bring you back in to the wrong side of town.

Bart

How's High noon at Globe? The wife may ride along, she loved that road. Do you happen to know if you can get through hwy 77 from Hyden to Globe? I can't find anything on the AZ dot pages but I know when we road it a few weeks ago it said it was closed?

It might have to be closer to 1230 at Globe. I promised the wife I'd give her till 9:00 (shes starting at 4:00!!) for her black friday shopping. The Mapsource is telling me 3.5 hours to globe from where I'm at. If thats to late for your schedule I'll have to pass till next time.
