Bill,
I think Bob might be suggesting that Dennis has some of the perverse humor that I exhibit once in a while. Im not in KC. Im at my house.

I let Dr. Demento clean out my right knee today.
Good news is that it does not hurt much tonight. Good drugs. Bad news is that he expects I may have to get a replacement within the next year. I'm going for a trick titanium, carbon fiber, polished one, with racing strips if I do.

Knee replacement??? Isn't that something you have to get done when you are older than dirt?

Keith

p.s. John, I hope everything turns out good on this for you.

tut.tut.tut.tut...tut

digger digger digger...

Be kind... knee trouble can hit you at any age. Ride fast... fall down go boom... there ya go!!!However, the fossilization of the joints after a good number of decades is a major factor for some of us! Let's not be ridiculous... how can one be older than dirt... first it was the heavens... then the earth (dirt), then us old farts... GET IT STRAIGHT!!! youngin

CHILDREN...

please listen... you may have heard... "Running is good for you!" BULLSH*T!!!! The only reason to run is to catch something or keep from being caught! Aerobic activity is good for you... running pounds the sh*t out of your joints!!! I limp and make funny faces after climbing just two flights of stairs because of running... I have trouble standing up after squatting down... DON'T DO IT KIDDIES!!!! DON'T RUN!!! If someone suggest you run for your health... run away. Wait... maybe you should just move slowly towards the door and make a rapid exit! anyway...

I am at that sick point of being a little over 500 days from being able to retire... and hoping that if my knee (or knees) do blow out... it will be before I retire... to (a) use the sick leave that will go into the trash when I retire... (b) so I can rightfully claim it as work related... and (c) hope it happens in the winter so I don't miss a riding season, and/or time off from a retirement job that has no sick leave benefits... (I usually ride right up to slick weather... so that is an inaccurate statement)

V2win...

Perverse sense of humor... what the hell are you talking about!!! I am dead ass serious... serious as a fu*king heart attack!!! Maybe now I understand why people laugh at me! I always figured it was nervous laughter brought on by jealousy!!! I just see the world at a little different angle that all you "normal" people... don't be jealous... don't let envy rear it's ugly head... and if you must laugh... than just let it out... I understand you all really want to be me! I also suspect Sam REALLY wants to be me!!! I realize I am a role model... and it is a heavy responsibility to understand that not everyone can cope with that!!!

P.S. Get back on your feet soon... everyone I know who has had knees repaired were much better afterwords... the rehab is a bitch... but the results are worth the pain. Ask for the Steve Austin special!!! They can rebuild you... make your better... faster...

...and it is nice to see another person who knows who the hell Dr. Demento is!

I won't have Badweb access.

p.s. Jeff...if I get a chance I'm gonna brain storm (hold the remarks, jackasses...) on that logo some. Need to get back into some drawing anyways ;)

Frank... Frank... Frank... is that really you???

We have been holding candle light vigils... stapling pictures of you on to telephone poles... asking small businesses to let us put collection boxes to collect money for the ransom...

We have been waiting for the kidnapper to call and negotiate with us for what it would take for your return.

Did you escape... did SWAT rescue you... did the kidnapper realize a mistake was made by taking you???

For the past several weeks we have been worried to tears about our buddy the Frankster... we had nearly collected $1.47 for the ransom...

...well we haven't exactly collected that much... but we have pledges!!! I have 35 cents in cash... in small unmarked coins and video game tokens!

Our last contact with the kidnapper was that if he came up with 50 bucks for each Mob member... we will take you back... DID THAT BASTARD STIFF US?????

P.S. notice how I didn't say anything about your brainstorm comment.

But... wouldn't it be more like a drizzle???

...and we could use the ransom money for crayons!!

We missed ya buddy...

by the way...did the kidnapper give you any fiftys to give to us???

Mobbers...

...as most of you know I am counting down to my retirement... as of this date... I have 520 days (but who's counting!)

I have been doing a little studying on this... and want to pass some advise to you younger ones.

If you had bought $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.

With Enron, you would have $16.50 of the original $1,000.00.

With Worldcom, you would have less than $5.00 left.

If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser (the beer, not the stock) one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00.

Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

This is my new retirement program, I call it my 401Keg program.

Hey mobbers... missed me??? ...it has been over 24 hours since I posted.

I almost got to meet one of my neighbors last night...

Being an old fart... having a few health problems that sometimes pester me... I was in the den/guest bedroom watching Two Wheel Tuesday on cable and managing a wave of fatigue... listening and half asleep. Sharon had been in the den playing some computer game and had stepped out to the porch to smoke a cigarette... She came in and said... "Dennis get up... there is someone in the back yard."

My lot is 300 ft deep... and it is house... big parking area... detached garage... swimming pool... a bit of yard... and a creek bed.

Meanwhile... back at the ranch... I jump up... grab one of those cool flashlights that is palm size... but will burn through closed eyelids... and Mr. Glock... and head out... in my socks. I do my thing checking all the places some can hide... and generally produce a light show to rival any rock concert. Dead quiet. You could have heard a cricket fart!!

My neighbor to the north had someone pry the lock off his shed the night he had run some power tools in his driveway... he suspected looking for them... but not taking much. So I am thinking who ever that was... had come back for seconds.

At this point... I have the person apparently down in some brush or the creek bed wishing I would finish the light show... to return to regularly scheduled programming. After several minutes of dancing lights... the socks and t-shirt are apparently not warm enough to stay out longer... I pop in... put on a jacket and some slippers... have Sharon tell me exactly what she saw... and go back for the second act of the impromptu light show.

Before I came in I had made a public service announcement... at both the south and north end of the yard... as I thought there was an audience ...it was something like this... "May I have your attention please... I suggest you find the yard of someone to fu*k around in."

After that I went for a wardrobe change. Upon my return to continue the light show... my advise had apparently been taken... as I heard a progression of barking dogs through the areas of the back yards and creek bed north of my property... which had been my visitors original direction of travel.

Anyway... I missed a chance to meet one of my neighbors... but I am a thoughtful bastard... so he will next time not have to worry about stumbling around in the dark... by tomorrow night there will be a big halogen motion light on the back of the garage. Damn... I am such a thoughtful person!!!

the end

Correction... the public service announcement was...

"May I have your attention please... I suggest you find the yard of someone ELSE to fu*k around in."

I am thinking he did... and may have seconds thoughts about returning to mine. How will I ever make new friends in the neighborhood if they go running off every time I go out to greet them???

First of all... it is D...E...N...N...I...S

unless you are my mom... then you can call me Damnit. Until I was 14 years old... I thought that was my first name... as parents often use a child's first and middle name when they get in trouble... and mom would always say. "Damnit Dennis!"

Second... I am not jumpy... just very eager to meet people and make new friends!

Third... unless I wintered the Buell in the swimming pool... he was never going to see a cool Yellow XB9S where he was wondering about.

Fourth... yes... us feds do have the frequent occasion of ruining some people's fun... an occupational hazard.

Fifth... I could use a fifth of vanilla vodka if anyone is wondering what to get me for Christmas!

Sixth... I am a firearms instructor... a professional... don't try this at home kiddies.

Seventh... Mr. Glock is a very old and trusted friend.

Eighth... I think he was intending to pay a visit to my neighbors tool shed... and was just admiring my swimming pool.

ninth... I have run out of smart assed things to write... but kiddies... stay tuned for the adventures of Dennis on Thanksgiving!!!

So that was you Dennis?! Damn I was just trying to extend you the damn cable for my high-speed internet to your house. I figured the cover of darkness would keep everyone else around you from being suspicious. Had I known it was you I would have emerged from the bushes with said cable and continued to spread my holiday cheer.

However, the damn laser rock show you put on aroused the attention of some of your other neighbors who found the cable I was running with the snow tires on there truck. This of course ended up entangled in the axle and drive line and drug me all the way back down to 23rd street. Unfortunately for me I had created a loop of that wire that accidentaly found its way around my ankle. My advice to you would be the next time you ask your fellow buellers for a favor of borrowing there plumbing or cable please show them a little more courtesy. You could start by coming outside in little more then just your socks and a t-shirt. If not for dignity's sake it is getting fairly brisk out. I know its the holiday season and all but I am simply not ready yet for candy canes and those little striped mints..

Anyways, I have to go for now as my eyes can only take so much light since the surgery yesterday. Doctor says the retinal damage was "mostly repairable at best.."

Just messing with ya bud!

I hope you and your family and the rest of the MOB and theirs have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
