Aron, when you did your valve adjustment service last month did you find much adjustment needed? How far out were the clearances? Just curious how the Helicon engines break in. Any noticeable improvement after your adjustments ie., smoother idle?

They were all in spec. No adjustment needed. You do need to go through the exercise of rotating the motor down to get tot he front spark plug. This does need to be done at 12k miles. The plugs are worn at this point.

Never had issues with rough idling, your probably thinking of the XB's.

On the 1125 to get improvements you disable the learn mode and O2 sensors. This eliminates the constant hunt for an overly lean EPA approved running condition.

Been off line with a dead DSL modem but I'm back now. Thanks on the feedback Aron. Since you discovered no real adjustment necessary -then no difference, let alone improvement could be expected from the valves'end of things.(Although as an aside, your spark plug R&R could make a performance difference that you could sense I guess) Actually, my question stems from my experience with import bikes initial valve service which often cleared flat spots off Idle or poor idling that developed on some bikes as time went on during initial break-in. On the XB's those hydraiulics eliminate the issue as you know. In fact like most of us Buell owners, I'm crazy about the low maintenance on mine. Where I am headed is, I have seen some screaming deals out there on private party '08 1125R's like~$6-7K asking price on bikes with very low miles (like 600 or 1000 miles). Usually in the middle of the off season you can find some of this but never in early Sept. I am really 2 to 3 years (or more- sorry Dave)out before any sort of replacement but you never know. Aron, since not many people self perform much of their maintenance I thought I'd pick your brain a bit before I jump into anything deal or not. I am fortunate I have a lot of the tools to do things myself and from what I gather on this web site there are a lot of paid professionals working on bikes that really should not touch anyone's Buell. Thanks again

I really like the exposure the engine gets on your model. Nice bike! https://spanishdictionary.cc
