Bart, If I'm not there by 7:55 that means I did not get everything done at work and I have to work Sat. Hope to see you then.

What do you think has been keeping me busy Bart? Sides, not having any wheels makes it difficult to go on rides...

Wycked,
Hmmm, i don't know, I just saw 4 posts above you stated you have been really busy, and not on a good schedule.
No wheels do tend to make it hard to go on rides, but you managed the springfast, LOL.
You still doing the same work?

Bill,
I'll keep an eye out for you...

same place, same job. Just made some changes that had me doing more life things, but at the same time put my evenings on a tight schedule of places to be. Cut a few of them out that weren't really working for me and now that the wife is working in Houston thanks to Hurricane Ike, I have more free time in the evenings and weekends.

thinking I will chase you with the Miata tomorrow and shoot another gig of photos. something else I have been doing a lot of.

See you at your place about 7:45ish.

**Spoiler alert**

Stopped by Arrowhead Harley last night found out their first 1125cr ships on 9/22 from BMC. And they only have one 1125r left now that the 09s are rolling you would think prices would go down.

I can't wait to see the CR in person, and maybe test ride it, but I doubt that it is still a harley dealer.

Hi Buellers!
We all had a great time riding 191, even with two of us riding two up. Lisette handled riding on the back of my Silent Ghost very well. I must admit that I do miss my CityX for two up riding and long trips like this, but you can't beat growing through sweepers well into triple digits.
I'd load some pics but my pc is fighting me so you'll have to use your imagination.

Nice ride this weekend, great weather.
Billc showed up on his M2, and Wycked showed up in the Miata. : )

Randle, don't hold your breath hoping for that test ride.

It will be a couple of weeks before I have a weekend off again, but I'm off during the week.
Kelly and I will be planning a weekday ride up to Showlow for lunch, via the beeline hwy, and back down through the salt river canyon...

Hi fellow AZ Buellers!
After a 15 year hiatus (lapse of reason ) I finally decided it was time to get back on 2 wheels so now I'm the proud owner of an 03 XB9S . I hope to get in on some of the local rides with you folks. I work 2 jobs and every sunday so that won't make it easy but hopefully there will be a saturday ride I can make.
I live around I-17 & Thunderbird so if you see a black XB9S with a silver helmet, thats me so say wassup!

C ya on the roads.

I may leave early on Friday afternoon, around 2 ish and head up? maybe stay in search light to save money? or look for a cheap hotel in vegas...then maybe leave on saturday night after dinner and drive part way back to laughlin...we will see. Hmmm, extended swingarm with a fat assed tire on the back? almost looks like Brians bike, LOL.
But, nope, I don't know who owns it...

Also, I thought I'd throw out some pics of what folks are missing by not going out on these rides...

Yarnell pass, I rode up and then back down to get these pictures...
Oh the agony of what I go through for the people on this message board, LOL.

After Yarnell, there are the "spars" to ride through...

this is the stretch of road the cops like to watch,

After the spars, and Prescott, I ride out to Camp Verde and catch HWY 260 through Strawberry and Pine, to Payson:

So, as you can see, there are plenty of roads to ride with curves here in AZ. We just need to get out of town to enjoy them.
C'mon folks, get some time off, and get your bikes ready, and let's get out and do some riding!!!

Killer pics Bart! I can't wait to get time to do that run. Somehow I suspect riding to work and back on the I17 in rush hour traffic just isn't the same.

Hey fella's
I'm new to AZ and would love to join you in a ride. Any rides plans for this Sunday or Monday? I live down in Ft Huachuca and have explored the roads locally and have found a few. It' hard to match the north GA, TN, NC area but I know there must be more of what Bartimus posted. Did the Mt Lemmon rd It would be much better on a weekday without the cages in the way. I'm always up for a ride!!

BTW distance is never an issue for a good road to ride. Bonus if the food is good too.

Gamb,
I do the I-17 run from Union Hills all the way down to I-10 in the morning rush hour, on the days that I work. And your right, while it IS kind of fun dicing with morning traffic on a good handling sport bike, The mountain curves are sooooo much better!

I didn't know there was a Stunt show coming up? I won't be able to go, as I have to work that weekend. : (

Howdy Rotorhead,
Welcome to the sand box! Your down at Huachuca? That's a good distance from our playland. but you've got some nice twisties within a days ride.
Ride up to Safford, and then on towards Morienci, then head up hwy191 to Alpine.
You will ride some of the most outstanding curves in the state... Gotta hurry though, it's going to get nasty in another two months and there will be snow up there, so ya gotta ride them curves now!

Speaking of rides, Kelly and I decided to go for a ride up to Showlow and back today. We met up on the east side around 8AM, I was a little early, and took this pic, while waiting around:
'95 S2, NRHS 1250 stage 2 kit, 42 Mikuni, forcewinder air filter, Vance & Hines exhaust, mmmmmmmmmm! I LOVE S2's! LOL

Kelly showed up:

2007 or '08 Suzuki GSXR 1000

We headed up the 60 to Superior, and Globe.
Ran into some construction, and followed a cop trying to pull over a semi pulling a wide load, for a few miles. LOL
got past that and jammed the curves into Globe, and stopped at the Chevron, at the turn off to the Salt river.
While taking a break, Kelly discovered his bike was puking all over the right side:

We discovered the bike had been over filled with oil, and drained a bit of oil out of it to bring it back to the proper level.
Kelly ran it a few miles, and we pulled over and checked it, but it was still puking. Kelly opted to head back to town and get the bike to the shop. I continued on.
I stopped when I got to the Salt river canyon, and took this picture:

Own the curves

I think it's pretty cool with the curves in the background!

Anyway, the rest of the ride was pretty mundane, I was kind of bummed Kelly took a day off, and wasn't able to enjoy the curves. Instead he was taking his bike back to the shop, where he found out they had pinched the cam cover gasket when they installed it the day before. : (
Headed out of Show Low, and down through Heber, and Payson. Turned north through Pine, Strawberry, and across 260 to Campe Verde. Got onto the 17 and headed south to the big city. I got off at New River and took the river road down to Carefree HWY.
Some nice curves down that road! Schweeet! LOL
I got a little too excited, and managed to get nailed by one of Sheriff Joe's finest. : (
Got me a little speeding ticket to finish the day off, just a mere 8 miles from my house.

The rides are out there, I have a weird work schedule, and have weekdays off right now...

Also lemme know if you have time this week to hook up for that 10K self service. I'm at about 10.5 now.

Right on, right on.

Gamb,
I'd like to head out around 8:30AM, we can meet Kelly on the west side about 9AM, and then head out from there.
We should be back around 1PM or so...
As for working on the bike, mine is still in the shop. (surprise, surprise!)
They still haven't been able to resolve the intake leak problem... Maybe I can get it from them, do the service, and then drop it back off...

Hey Snotty,
How's the bike? Did the shop get it right this time? It sucked doing that ride by myself last time. : (
I'm off for the next 12 days, maybe we can try it again??? ; )
