Motorcycling Brothers and Sisters of Greg Holman,
Windy City Club Members Marc, Keith, and Paul have suggested we create a photo album to honor Greg's motorcycle experiences with us. My wife Sara has volunteered to collect digital photos of Greg which you provide to her via email. We've seen a few of these on badweb already and will ask the photo posters to email the full size jpeg photos to Sara for inclusion in the album.

Action Requested --> Please dig through your digital archives and email your favorite photos of Greg Holman to my wife Sara. Sara's email is hickman56@comcast.net.

I estimate it will take a week or so for all the photos to come in and for Sara to create the album, after which Sara will create a Kodakgallery.com photo album with Greg's photos. Once the album is complete I'll post a link to it in Badweb so you may see it. Windy City Club will order a hardbound copy of the photo album for Dana and for The Holman family. You can also order your own from Kodakgallery.com if you so choose.

In remembrance of a great friend
- Marc, Keith and Paul

Fellow Buellers,

I cannot say anything but thanks for those who caught my error in the date for the visitation. Perhaps there was something in my eyes.

See ya, on 23rd

I'm stunned. Greg was a good friend and always available to help. The last time for me was on the way home from Indy last Sunday. He called me and Tim to warn us of freeway flood closures ahead of us that he reached first. That's Greg. That and he would kick my ass on the track too.

I'm thinking the club should design and have a small patch made in his honor. I know I'd be proud to wear one on my jacket....

John

As I'm about to hop on my bike after a long day at work, I've been reflecting throughout the day about riding with Greg.

I can't say enough yet think it would be easier to say nothing. I managed to find some pictures from our trip to the Ozarks this past May. It's weird but there's only one picture of Greg in the bunch. I'll never forget that trip for a bunch of reasons. But mainly it was the time spent with friends that I cherish the most.

I'm not sure if this is appropriate to ask but....who's riding to the visitation and/or service? It's a long ride for me (about 4 hours). But I somehow feel that is how Greg would want us to honor him, in riding gear instead of shirts, ties, suits, whatever.

I'm out of here for the night. Time to go home, kiss my wife and tell her that I love her.

I've got some photo's of Greg racing. The photographer at Blackhawk charges for them. I emailed him yesterday. He he mailed me a few, free of charge. gron4.com is their site. If you want, shoot him a thank you. The pics are of just Greg. You can see the determination in his eyes. They have been sent.

5 October is the autumn Slimey Crud Run (Madison-ish, WI), where you could most always find Greg wandering the parking lots, kicking tires, offering pithy coments on the assembled

I think it would be a class act if we gathered at the Crud run, passed a helmet, and took some donations to help Dana, Greg's long-term partner -- she's a rider, and a great person, and I know our support would be greatly appreciated

I've got an old, beat up HD-brnaded lid in the Entropy Lab, and it's seeded with a crisp new Benjamin -- who's in?

Bomber ... I'm in ...

I was going to pass on the Crud Run this fall but I feel compelled to go now ..

It won't be the same not having Greg with us, could always count on him to be there, to be involved .. was just thinking about the Crud Run when Greg, Matt and I took off on our own and when we returned back to my place after 500 miles .. I believe all 3 of us had cords showing through on our rear tires ..

He will definitely be missed...

Count me on the helmet donation Bomber. Also...I think a patch with Greg's racing # may be start of a design. I have a feeling if any of us Miss Slimey Crud, due to his passing, he would be very .....disappointed. I would suggest a nice club prescence at the Crud, in his honor is appropriate.

This truly is sad news. Greg will be greatly missed. He was the highlight of the meetings for me. From his dirtbike stories to his Buell stories, he always had a smile on his face. I'm not a very religious man but I know that higher powers had him in mind for something greater than anything he could do on this planet. Ride on friend and I am proud to have had him as a friend.

I would like to invite everyone to Blackhawk this weekend for what would have been Greg's last race for the season. We had planned on a Pot Luck dinner for Saturday night.
When I spoke to Dana a couple days ago, she said that she guesses that she won't have to look for a dog sitter know as she was going to be coming. I plan on turning that dinner into a dinner into a get together to remember Greg. I also plan on passing a hat around for Dana. I'm starting that one with a $100 donation from my family. I know all the Buell racers would love to see the support, as I believe all will dedicate their races to Greg. I won't be racing this weekend. I planned on helping out Greg.
I'll still have the toy hauler, so your all welcome to park by me and leave your gear in my rig. I think Greg would think it was pretty cool. Buell Alley is VERY hard to miss.
I've also been in contact with Henry Duga from Buell Racing. They plan on doing something to remember Greg.

All,
I will do my best to ride to the visitation. I like others was planning on skipping Slimey Crud however I am now committed to running Slimey Crud in Greg's memory. I will see everyone tomorrow, I am planning on putting a single strip of black tape across Buell on my tank and coming up with some kind of arm band for Slimey Crud any ideas?

Unfortunately I've been to a few this year.
This will be the hardest. Greg will be missed by all who ever met him.

If any out of towners need a place to stay the night, your welcome to my place.
Spare room and couch.

Do we all want to meet before hand and roll in together as a group?
Or just meet at Hallowell and James around 7PM in full gear?
It's been my experience that the families really appreciate the showing of brotherhood and respect.

Either way let me know

All -- I am not at all surprised byt the show of respect and affection this sad event is generating -- pleased, for certain, but not surprised.

I, also have some room for another out-of-towner or two -- heck, there will already be a couple of Wisconsinites in the house, let's pack the place -- far northern suburbs, near the trollway

I'll see you all at the joint this evening

Rocco...

We plan on leaving Milwaukee no later than 4:30pm. I'm heading out from GB at 2:00pm and trailering to Mark's house. A few minutes to change and unload the bike and we should be on the road.

Call my cell at 920-737-8020 if you'd like to ride down with us. I'll have very limited access to the web before I leave today.

All,
Meeting tonight at Illinois HD/Buell. Most definately discussing this weekends Slimey Crud run the wheres and the when's and the whos. I reluctently have to back out of Slimey Crud myself due to prior commitments I forgot about and an other issue that is developing with my bike. I'm sure Greg will be missed at tonights meeting and I'm hoping we can do some sort of a tribute to him at the meeting; eg a moment of silence, share a story, or even a toast to our departed friend and club member.
Thank You
Kurtis
