I just reviewed the archives on the BWB in relation to the last Non-Meeting. Seems a lot of issues were discussed to improve the situation. Wonder if they were addressed? To be perfectly honest with everyone, it looks like Uke's has discovered a bonding element that works in spite of all the teasing they took. Interesting scenario as they appear to have all the bases covered (riding, racing and social) and are growing their active membership with both genders. | ||

OK, the optimist in me says that last nights meeting was so action packed that it is taking some potential poster hours to get it all written up for distribution on the BWB. Oh well, off to the dentist. Perhaps I will be greeted with an exciting read when I return. | ||

Don't any of you do any work before you check out BadWeb?  "> Bill how come you weren't there to find out what was and wasn't discussed? Meeting last night: well there was two meetings last night. One before the meeting and the regular meeting. I'll start with the regular meeting. We had 7 members present along with Peggy and Mary from national BRAG, and Kirk, Bob, and Jack from Hal's. The regular meeting lasted about 1-1/2 to 2 hours. 1.Peggy and Mary are great people and have lots of things cooking to make BRAG even better. The Jan/Feb. issue of FUELL should be very good. 2.The ride/activity 2004 schedule was talked through and will be typed up all pretty-like and available in December or most likely January. Saturday as well as Sunday rides/events were scheduled. Several local day rides as well as 1 or 2 weekend rides, like Wildcat Mnt.. Battletrax dates will be added when they become available. 3.Nominations: Dir.: Yours truly Asst. Dir.: Gerry D. or ?? Treasurer: Tom G. Secretary: Chris M. 4. Christmas Party: December 6th 5:00p.m. Joey Buona's Pizzeria Grill 500 N. Water Street. All Brew City Brag members, spouses, children, etc. are welcome. It is pay your own though. 5.Lots of great input from members, Peggy and Mary, and Hal's. 6. Meeting with guest speakers, Hal's technicians teaching basic maintainence etc. will be planned for this coming year. The meeting before the meeting was with Gerry D., Tom, myself, and Kirk, Bob, Jack from Hal's. If there is one thing that I can say, it is that Hal's is very committed to Brew City and all of it's members. There are good things cookin', Jerry edited by blastin on November 12, 2003 | ||

Quick summary: 1. Communication with Hal's: The officers came early met with a few of the mucky-mucks and the lines of comminactaion are wide open now. Kirk is definitely dedicated to helping us continue and grow. 2. Officer Nominations: Director - Gerry (last years secratary) Vice Director - Jerry (last years assistant director) Secratary - CJ (last years poster girl) (see the dangers of not showing up) :P Treasurer - Tom (me) It's not too late to add to this list! 3. Rides: we have a very tentative schedule taking into account a more diverse schedule we have a few Saturday rides as of now there are at least a dozen as more information trickles in about other organization's events we will finalize our own. 4. The infamous patch fiasco. Our patches have been officially de-approved! No one is pointing fingers on this one but we have been asked to stop distributing our patches because they don't meet guidelines. This has to do with a lot of overworked people on both sides slipping up somewhere in the process. So if you are one of the lucky few who got patches; treasure them. 4. Christmas party: December 6th- Everyone is welcome, Members can win door prizes that are certainly worth more than the paltry membership fees. See, value for cost! Speaking of which and referring back to point #1 (communication with Hal's) Kirk was discussing member benefits and he is promoting a philosophy of rewarding particpation, rather than giving a flat discount to anyone who plops down $15 for a membership, giving points based on how involved a person is. There are no specifics yet so don't quote any of this but who knows maybe being an officer will be worth more than a couple of headaches a year, there's still time to nominate yourself! Going on rides and volunteering for events were two things that Kirk himself mentioned. Also Kirk wants to support events so the extra couple bucks you spend when you buy without a club discount go towards that pizza at the next meeting... 5. Website, I finally broke down and paid for some hosting, now I need you folks to send me some pictures and also ideas on what you would like to see on the website. I figured member photos calendar of events and stories of past events are all good. When I get Gerry to send me the tentative schedule that will be one of the first things up there. I am setting up an account right now for you to send the pictures to. I'll post again soon with an e-mail adress to send them to. | ||

Peggy was there to get a more grass roots feeling for the local chapters, she mentioned some things Brag did last year that went well and the changes she was making so they'd be better. And also to find out how to better support and encourage the local chapters. And to ban our patch.  | ||

They weren't really happy about having to ask us to stop distributing it either but technically it should never have been produced because it didn't meet requirements. As far as cost goes, I estimate, we about broke even on it. Though, speaking from the treasurer's POV, it would have been nice to turn a little profit. | ||
