Weather permitting, who's up a ride Sat? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'll lead a ride from Fort Washington HD to Annapolis using mostly back roads, 80+ miles. Kickstands up at 11am I try again this Saturday the 13th, if anyone in interested. My plans have changed for Sunday, I must attend a family GTG, no red eye for me.  | ||

Ok, so this Saturday should be a great day to ride. I'd like to go for an early ride, and will, not sure where yet. I'd like to follow someone for once, so if any of you Buellers out there are feeling particularly ninja, step up. If not, suit up and follow me if you can get up early enough. After the ride I have to get ready for my band's first public appearance. We have to set up sound check etc... Sat evening/night My band will be playing @ a party in Monrovia (SE of Frederick)if any of you want to come let me know and I'll send you directions. I think we go on @ 7:30. Ramon, I'm up for a ride on Saturday. I may have 2 guys joining us, one on a cruiser and the other on an Aprilla. I was supposed to ride with them last weekend before I discovered my shifter was binding up. I have a back roads route to Gettysburg mapped out but it sounds like you may have a time limit since you have the band thing going on. | ||

Tony and Ras - have a fun ride, I'm jealous. I had a doc appointment today in Balt and stopped by the shop on the way home, and amazed everyone because I walked in, around, and back out...nobody thought I'd be walking again  But seeing all those bikes...wow. It really got me craving the saddle again. And, I got to watch the first CR get uncrated. What a badass looking bike! (Message edited by ratbuell on September 17, 2008) | ||

Joe, I like hearing good news! You know what comes after walking.... RIDING. Sure it may be a while, but it's the next logical step and you have all winter to get there. I'd say you timed it pretty well. | ||

Hey Joe, I'm amazed to hear your walking again. That's freakin' awesome. How long do you figure before you're back in the shop? I think I've only been there once since you've been gone. Tony, Yeah I have to be back by 11 to pack/unpack the gear, set up and do a sound check. So I'm riding sat but It'll be early. Less traffic anyway. | ||

Hey all, thanks for the good thoughts. Yeah, walking already is pretty incredible to me, especially since they never put me in a cast. Today at PT they had a goal for me to walk, non-stop and unassisted, with no breaks, for one hour. Did it. Tired me the hell out, but I did it Next step, driving. That way my wife can have a semblance of a life again. Our (yes, OUR) goal is to take a new years ride; got three months, I should be able to pull that off. After that, Key West in March to celebrate our anniversary. I stick to attainable goals these days, lol. I guess I should plan to go back to work at some point too....but some things are more important! Realistically, though, I'll probably be back part time as early as mid-Oct, depending on the docs. Couple days a week, half a day shifts...but it keeps me from going out of my mind with boredom. | ||

Ras.. I can't make it since I'm going to be in Danville at VIR for the races.. But, once I'm back, I hope I can get the new tires on the bike and take it out for a few miles, it's probably pissed that I haven't ridden it in weeks now.. Damn.. That so sucks.. JOE!!! Dang dude, this is great news.. I never heard from ya when I dropped a note your way so I began to wonder if your mad at me or something.. Was it something I wore recently? hehehehehe.. Rich I'm still planning to get a ride in on Saturday. I may head out with "G". He just got his Lightning out of the shop and apparently his girlfriend wishes it was back in there, because he's been on it ever since. I have a feeling we'll have a time limitation. I'm not sure if Paul left for Vegas yet. InterBike is next week. He may have went out early for a weekend of table dances $$$. | ||

I met "G" a few weeks back. He lives about a mile from me. This will be my first time out riding with him. We'll probably start around 10:00am and head out towards Thurmont/Catoctin. Sunday I'll probably just be zipping around Ellicott City a bit. Then I'll break out the pedal bicycle and log some miles. Buells will make you lazy. | ||

The Buell AND Harley-Davidson demo trucks will be at The Harley-Davidson/Buell Store of Baltimore. We anticipate having the latest and greatest from Buell and Harley, including the new 1125CR and V-Rod Muscle! Hopefully, they can squeeze a new Tri Glide in the truck as well! (It won't be as neat as the S3 trike in the BadWeb photos section) Contact me on October 3 to verify the available models. So mark your calendars! On Saturday October 4, we will be doing demo rides from 10am until 4pm, and on Sunday, October 5, demo rides will be from 10am until 2pm. A current, motorcycle license is required, as well as a DOT helmet (full-faced for Buell rides). Helmets have been available for use at the demo site in the past. Picked up my friend who has a Yamaha at the Fredericktown Yamaha dealer in Frederick last night. Theres a used 2004 black & amber 1203cc Buell Lightning with 7k miles on it there on the floor. Someone traded it in for something...... Just an FYI if someone is looking for one. It looks to be in good shape. It was tipped over I could tell. Some scuffs on the mirror but nothing major. Has a new rear tire on it. | ||

I know there are 2 CR's in the fleet this year I saw them up at Liberty. I sat on the red one but didn't demo it. Dang its aggressive looking!  Erik do you know if 147 is going to be in the demo route? Remember the one I suggested? K | ||

Just got back from the Open House at the York Harley plant. The demo fleet for Buells there includes 2 CRs, one red and one black. K, I haven't heard anything about a route for our demo day. I gave your route to Chick. I guess we just have to keep our fingers crossed. |
