Most of the gun shows usually have quite a few knives there also.

Bill, WI makes just about everything illegal. Pepper spray, those shocking units, knives with a blade longer than 2" I believe, etc etc. Its real screwed up. We can have drunken idiots running around the woods shooting at anything that moves, yet a young mother who may live in a not so good part of a town cant carry pepper spray to protect herself?

Bill,
"ping".

John,
The answer is "sometimes". Really depends on which one when and where and who shows and where else they have to go that weekend.

Bomber...Yes. In fact the biggest vendor is from your side of the border! Nice couple. They exhibit at most of the gun shows from Kenosha to Green Bay to Madison to Beloit. Great selection and some really fancy limited production and one off stuff as well.

MikeJ...Thanks. I lost a lot of those sites when my AOL crashed a while back. Then again, you directed me to others that were quite interesting.

Will check the local resource you mentioned. Have connections in that community and know I can get legit answers. Think it would be best to make a list before I contact anyone so it is a short sweet meeting. Wouldn't want to get charged with interfering with an officer's in the line of or performance of duty, whatever that is called. LOL

With over 25 years in the air for business, I can tell a multitude of interesting stories. Next time we meet, ask me about a Puerto Rico.

Waukesha County Expo and Washington County Fair Grounds??? Just a guess and too lazy to look it up right now.

Also try Wisconsin ______ Shows in your search engine. Sorting through stuff like that can kill the better part of your life if you aren't careful.

spidey -- "Little Brown Bother" was a nick name for first the VC and then the NVA regulars (VC = Viet COng, NVA = North Vietnamese Army . . . . this stuff is passing into history quickly, so I'll define terms until someone shouts uncle)

the name was quasi-affectionate -- as happens in almost all conflicts, I imagine, the combatants soon felt that they had more in common with each other than they did with their respective governemetns and citezenry . . . .

I hope this jives with what you'd learned on your own

Bill,
There is also one occaisionally in Richfield as some restaurant/banquet hall across the street from the PigglyWiggly store on hwy-175(?).

This just in:
http://www.legis.state.wi.us/2003/data/SB214hst.html
http://www.jsonline.com/news/state/nov03/182915.asp?format=print
Very fluid and guaranteed to change before it's over.

John,
Try these (not sure how current they are though, linked there indirectly from the jsonline.com and OnWisconsin web sites):
http://www.wisconsinoutdoor.com/gunshow.htm
http://www.setyoursights.net/gun-shows/wi-gunshows.shtml

Adell, WI, 53001
Note: this is in Richfield just north of Menomonee Falls and not in Adell (wherever Adell is).

There's more sites with listings but these should keep you covered. ;)

Now there is an understatement if I ever heard one. LOL

Any bets as to whether Doyle is going to veto the bill? No doubts in my mind that he is Chvala's Monkey.

Chvala...Now there is one crooked politician I can't wait to see go to prison.

He's already said numerous times he'll veto the bill. I think he said he'd veto it when they were still collecting signatures to get it considered and sponsored before it was even past the napkin phase. I think he said he'd veto it on his third birthday if you believe some rumors. They are planning on the veto and are already paving the background for the workaround. Probably going to be the fastest recirculation of any bill in the history of the state if one believes other rumors floating around.

I'm thinking of that child molestor who made the news recently, when he was sent to prison his cell mate was someone he molested years before. Prison, at times, is a great equalizer.

Prison, at times, is a great equalizer.

Amen to that! Not to mention it is really refreshing to see the State and Local Governments cleaning house and sending the bums to prison.

I sincerely hope this frenzy goes nation wide and that politicians become liable for their campaign platforms in addition to their source and use of campaign funds.

With any luck we will find a new breed of politician emerging from all this. Just imagine, an honest politician. Interesting concept but not effective until the Political Parties pick up on the idea. LOL

Bomber,
Was thinking about this on the way home last night and then remembered a store that I haven't been in to for a couple of years, but looked like they were still there a week ago when I was checking on some bicycle tires. Cassanova's, on Capitol Drive just east of Lilly, a short block east of the Wheel&Sprocket store. If you go plan to spend some time there if it's anything like it was two years ago. You'll need at least two laps around the store to see what you missed on your first lap. I'm probably going to get the tires today and I may stop in if I have an hour to spare. Would make for a good close diversion if you're up here trailer shopping.

And speaking of trailers, there's another small lot northbound on I-41 just after the split from I-43 and just south of hwy-60 or so. Not as many trailers as Tom's, but occaisionally a good deal stuck away on the lot. Plus they do some fabrication there as well.

Oh well, crunch time on the job today.

Cassanova's is a fun place. Small, cramped and chock full of outdoors stuff at good prices. Had a pretty nice knife selection the last time I was in.

Sherper's(?), the surplus outlet on Hwy 100 south of I-43 and in Oconomowoc is another fine outlet. Get most of my outdoor clothing there including my tights (read: Damark poly wool long johns) and some super warm socks.

Figure if it works for a deer hunter sitting in a stand, it ought to work for a rider with a windproof layer on top. Had you guys going with the tights thing, eh? LMAO

Bomber...almost forgot. Look up www.cheaperthandirt.com and www.uscavalry.com. Both are excellent outdoor suppliers.

I recently ordered a folder from Cheaper Than Dirt in Texas. Including shipping (no sales tax), it was 25% less than what I paid for the same item at a local show which was still 5-10% below retail.

Use your search engine for the category you are looking for. I no longer have the sites but even living in CA, I ordered and received a lot of items that were not available locally. Some of the best selections and deals came from the Pacific Northwest and the Mid Atlantic states.
