Hey Jerry...Did you get a new bike or would you like me to put some "Training Wheels" on my X1 for you?

Ok, heres an idea for a get together. Who has guns?? We could setup a range day. hit the local range & shoot the shit:D. I know of shooters in north racine, outdoorsman in winthrop harbor Il, we have the outdoor range in Bristol & I am sure there are a few others in racine or milwaukee.

You dont need to own a gun either as some of us probably have more than 1 & you can also rent 1 from most places.

Go thru a few boxes of ammo, & grab a bite to eat at a local pizza place since the weather is starting to turn ugly.

I have a couple .22s, a S&W .357, a ruger 9mm semi, a ruger .45 single action revolver, & for the outdoor ranges I also have a 12 gauge pump which is a lot of fun to shoot.

Hey Terminator...Would love an indoor range day! Have a pair of .45's and a .22 I would love to play with. Need to sight all but the .22.

We have a number of indoor ranges up this way also. I like Fletcher's which is in Waukesha just west of Hal's about 5 miles.

Every once in a while the guys with the full auto Uzi's and Thompson's show up and play with and without silencers. They can shoot as long as it is a pistol cartridge and have the Federal permits.

WOW...Wish I had a muffler for mine! Would pay dearly for a machinist to fix me up with one. Am tired of blowing up potatoes as taught in the US Army.

In the long gun category, have a .22 and a 30/06. The 22 needs a scope and I have never fired the '06.

So let me know if it is indoor or outdoor where you wish to play.

FYI, would love to lay my hands on a Remington 1100 or equivalent with two barrels (one modified and one slug). Same goes for a Snub .38/.357.

Used to have a great time in the So Cal Mtns. Ride the KLR's up to God's Country and plink til Hell froze over.

Was a real gas. Fire trails through the mountains and typical male plinking fun.

Love using old fruits and vegetables for targets. Totally Biodegradable...No need to police up the cans and glass!!!

Well, did it again. Five hours riding today left me with some nice rosey cheeks...and that is just the part you can see. LOL

Another great, but gray, day riding. Other than the chill, it was just like yesterday. Can't wait til Thursday. Have a new pair of leather jeans do in so I don't have to wear those friggin' queer chaps on the Buell. LOL

Well, I now know what Jerry's gettin', but I ain't sayin'. It was too dark and rainy to get a look at it, and all I can confirm is that it has two tires. Oh, and it should also be very good in the rain.
=====
Not knowing the current rules south of the border I won't take anything with a firing pin that direction (not officially anyway).
I'm not sure what the current status or operation hours or caliber limitations are at the outdoor range southwest of Eagle are, been several years since I've been there. I do recall they shut it down in the winter months when the ski trails were in use, used to be if no snow then shooting was open.
=====
Bill, look at both the S&W LadySmith and the Colt Carry Magnum. I've shot both in the past and they might be what you're looking for. Found this pic of one on the web:

And for the record I am aware that firearms are sometimes in the same league as abortion and religion when it comes to sparking debates and emotional responses.

MikeJ...That will work. Am looking for something to replace the 1965 S&W Chiefs Special I sold before returning here.

Sold an Ed Brown custom .45, a tuned S&W Model 41 and an S&W Model 629 the same day. Sold them in the weeks before returning to WI. Another dumb move. I could have got 50 to 100 percent more for them here!

Think of it as "Seller's Remorse." Wish I never sold any of them now. Am slowly but surely replacing them.

Bomber...Understand well. The danged things still have that irritating noise problem. Most are to collect, but target shooting the .22 is fun, especially if you remember the "Zen of BRASS" and I am not referring to the stuff they made us police up off the ground. LOL

I don't hunt anymore and even gave up fishing a few years ago. Trust me, in the long run restaurants and grocery stores are cheaper, safer and more social. I just like target shooting and have no action hero or criminal delusions.

MikeJ...The outdoor range you are referring to closes in winter and also for the gun deer hunting season. I used to sight in the deer rifle there in the early 70's but have only visited and not shot there since returning.

Is a well run and very safe range. The folks running it can help with virtually any mechanical problem and think nothing of counseling and/or dismissing any unsafe shooter.

Of interest, they have a nice sporting clays area. I used to compete in trap and skeet but never had a chance to try this game. Should be fun.

No sense in stealing Jerry's thunder. Is a great day for a fellow when he gets to show off his new toy!

Yet, your comment about having two tires and being very good in the rain almost lead me to think we are not talking about a motorcycle, well at least not a Minimal Coverage Buell. Yep Buell's handle great in the rain, they just come up a tad short in the protective fairing department.

Then again, having been caught in downpours with both the X1 and the Wide Glide, I can honestly say that I was far less wet on the X1 and it was much easier to clean later. LOL

Shootin' at things sounds fun. I haven't been to a formal range in a couple years. I realy like skeet/trap shooting.

Sounds like you have a winner there Dyna. Find some places and "ball-park" figures for people and we can circulate.

I just had the idea, I will let the folks who live closer to the ranges make the arrangements.

Like i said I know of none in the milwaukee area & feel we would be better served if someone who has been to them & knows which are good or bad.

We can throw some dates out there & pick & choose from em & narrow it down.

Indoor ranges are a piece of cake in the Milwaukee area, should be the same in the Racine/Kenosha area. If you guys want Milwaukee, give me an idea of how many and what day would be good and I will make the arrangements.

Outdoor Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays shouldn't be that difficult either. Just don't know if they are still operating. Best one in the area is the Waukesha Gun Club which is about 2 miles north of I-94 and Hwy 164. Don't know of any others except the one just south of Eagle.

Again, give post who wants to go and when. I imagine Saturdays or Sundays would be best. So let's start posting. I don't care to plunk any money down to reserve a date if nobody shows. Get my drift???

Jerry,
Don't forget about our top secret guaranteed class winner for next year's B-Trax. I'll start shopping around for an engine this winter and should hopefully have something built up and ready for spring testing as soon as the roads clear of salt debris. I've got a few ideas for a v-twin, but may be limited to a single thumper configuration unless I go with a dual-engine setup. I'm pretty sure the frame will handle the power but will know more once I replace the tires on it, tires for it have been a little hard to find locally so far.
