There is one gas station in South Beloit with Turbo Blue. Two in Janesville, one with Turbo Blue, one with Sunoco. I also go to Foxy's in Janesville, but race gas in a can is MUCH more expensive than at the pump. $3.50/gallon at the pump, $8.00/gallon in the can. The only drawback is that all stations switch to Kerosene when winter comes around. Sooner or later I will change to my 11:1 pistons.

BTW, we had a tanker of JP-5 jet fuel at my work for an engine test we ran, and it is similar to diesel, not a high octane gasoline. Trust me, I asked when they said they needed to empty the tanker and couldn't find anyone to buy the fuel!

SnowDave...Yikes...Information overload. LOL

Translation: You are now in charge of selecting a meeting place in Monroe and doing a route based on where you can score the race gas.

Kindly post your ideas so I can get them out to the others via email.

Thanks

Any feedback from the Iowa Corn Mafia and other western folks about meeting in Monroe or having a separate ride based in the west as previously posted???

Same request for feedback from Windy City, Uke's, Brew City, Doc's, etc.

The following is a response to a question concerning SEWER that was addressed in the South Central Wisconsin thread.

It has been our experience that getting a decent sized group from any particular club for a sport ride is very difficult for many reasons.

That is why the purpose of SEWER is to get these sport riders a destination to ride to, enjoy the comradery of a good ride and then ride back home.

Considering the geographic dispersion of the clubs, a one to two hour ride to the destination with a meet'n'ride should take the good part of a day.

Figure leave home around 8:00 AM, meet at 10:00 AM, meet'n'ride till around 2:00 PM and then head home.

The destinations are selected for their proximity to fun roads to ride and in almost all cases, the commute to the destinations can be done on roads that are equally as much fun.

Just a concept, but should help give you some perspective on SEWER.

It is supposed to rain around here saturday. I'm hurting anyway from a get-off yesterday on the dirt bike. The front end washed out and my chest landed on the end of the bars. I am pretty sure I cracked a rib or two.
I rode the Buell to work today and it only hurt putting on and off the jacket and when I hit bumps. I remember how bad it hurt a few years ago when I broke both the collar-bone & a rib on a similar crash. That one took a couple of weeks before I could ride again.

Yep, rain here too, but that is just the forecast. Will let you know more when my bones detect clear weather! Damn, I hate cold damp weather. Never knew I had arthritis until I moved back to Wisconsin.

Initial Ride'n'Meet

Time for a role call of all planning on making this weekends initial Romp in the Sewer.

Anyone planing on going, please post the DAY (Sat or Sun) and PLACE (Monroe or Eagle).

As this is an informal first event it will be majority rule concerning when and where. Those that have signed up and received confirmation from me will be on the email list for more detailed communication concerning when and where to meet.

Needless to say, considering the weather, time of year and such short notice, I don't anticipate much participation. However, considering the info that can be gleaned and worked on over winter, I do look forward to some exciting events in 2004.

Information Request

Am in the process of building a data base of sport bike hangouts in WI, MN, IA, IL, IN and MI. As these hangouts are usually found along the best roads for sport riding, a list would make it easier to develop meaningful events for 2004.

To better describe the geographic area, it would be anywhere withing a line connecting Chicago,IL, Detroit,MI, Marquette,MI, Duluth,MN, Minneapolis,MN, Waterloo,IA and back to Chicago.

Being from So Cal, I am used to places like the Lookout, the Rock Store and Newcomb's Ranch. I am confident that you have at least read about them at some time in the past and have an idea of the activities that go on there.

Additionally, kindly provide information on favorite roads, scenic stops, recommended food stops, camp grounds and motels along these routes. Pick your favorites and let's see where this takes us.

The easiest way to communicate this information is to simply highlight a map and use numbers to identify all the stops. Then on a separate piece of paper, list the numbers and a note about each. Oh yeah...do not forget to include a number and description for areas that either have road conditions hazardous to fast movers or are areas of high law enforcement.

Please do not let the attention to detail inhibit you from submitting your input. The concept is to get the best routes we can from the States mentioned so we can assemble a number of weekend rides that can attract participation from two or more BRAG Clubs and their guests.

Again, the rides will be routed to enable folks to participate either on Saturday, Sunday or both days depending on their personal time constraints. Due to the large geographic area or special events such as track days, BattleTrax, etc., more than one route may be planned for the same weekend.

Kindly email a copy of your respective BRAG Clubs 2004 Calendar of Events. The usual rides, weekend rides, Track Days, BattleTrax and anything else that is open to other BRAG Clubs. Also note if these events are Buell only or if guests riding other brands are welcomed. This will enable us to schedule events that will support your local efforts, not draw from them.

Kindly snail mail the maps and info to me and I will begin the consolidated data base and mapping. Mail to: Bill Neveling, 15255 Merrie Circle, Brookfield, WI, 53005-4514.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation regarding this matter. If you have any questions, kindly either post them or email them directly to me.

Due to a lack of interest...This weekend has been canceled! LOL

In all sincerity, with end of the season club rides and pre-winter honey-do lists the likelihood of pulling this ride off was questionable from the start.

Have a great winter and don't forget to post or mail your suggestions for the 2004 Riding Season!

Ok so Yammy is one, I dont really think you are interested in the ST1300 but I could be wrong.

You would be a perfect candidate for a BMW, they make some wonderful touring rigs.
