Trish and I went non-technical mountain biking along the Virginia Creeper from Damascus, VA. 17 miles up a beautiful abandoned railroad grade, turned into a trail, to WhiteTop mountain. Then, a nice 17 mile decent back into Damascus for dinner. Really very nice. Highly recommended. The tourists who take the shuttle to the top and just ride down are missing the good stuff, but to each his own. I wish I would have known. We were just down the road. On Sunday one intersection sign pointed to Dumascus only a few miles down the road. I got on my bicycle last week with the child seat on the back. Luke and I rode to local diner for dinner.
