OktoberFAST...

our place is open to company anytime after noon this Friday. the beer starts when you get here (if you're thru riding for the day), and the new BBQ starts heating up about 5:30.

Saturday morning we launch at 0800, with breakfast at the Ponderosa (believe it or not, Hop Sing still works there), 7,200 feet high in the Sierras at about 10 ayem.

if you can't make Saturday's ride (it'll come in at about 225 miles), you're still welcome to live here Saturday night with us. the beer will still be flowing (iytrftd) and the BBQ will be in full-honk.

Sunday's ride will be shorter, sorta, on several of the roads that served as worthy backups for last year's partially snowed-out All-Cal BRAG route. for those of you needing to get back to the L.A. area on Sunday, the ride will end up with you pointed in the right direction and closer to home than when you started the day.

and for those who can hang another night, the back half of Sunday will have us back up in the Sierras on yet more of the Good Stuff, including a stint on the Lion's Trail, with (you guessed it) the BeerBQ awaiting back home.

altho not etched yet in stone, i think Monday will find who ever is left pointed north again, maybe via California Hot Springs, so that i can get dr. Steve aimed in the right direction. who knows, might even make Sequioa and Kings Canyon on Monday...

it's really easy to say, when one is banging a ride drum like this, that it's all gonna be unforgettable.

well who knows, maybe it WILL be.

hmmmm, apparently SoCal slid quietly into the Pacific whilst i was sleeping.

in case any of you crawled out on to dry land (and managed to save your motorcycle in the process), there's a ride happening this weekend up here in F'ville.

well, you knew that already.

ok, you can go back to sleep now.

zzzzzzzzzzzzz..............................

Actually I slid into the Caribbean off the coast of Jamaica! Anyway - now that the wedding and honeymoon are over I can probably make it out to a few more of these events - maybe I'll have to join the BRAG group (are there any Ventura County BRAG members?). Hey does anybody know if our little adventure that was filmed and supposed to air on American Thunder ever aired?

Ferris,

I finally got the thumbs up from the wife to run off to OktoberFAST. Do you still have room up at your place for me? I might not make it down there on friday, but I'll definitely be there on Saturday.

James, heck yeah we got room! bring a sleeping bag if you can -- bed space is limited, but we've got a little bit of couch space, lots of floor space, and the coolest deck and lakeview in the world, perfect for camping out next to the BBQ, fire pit, and beer cooler :)

we're launching precisely at 0800 Saturday -- if you arrive after that, you'll be playing' catch up, which sucks, and can be dangerous.

best if you get here tomorrow night (if you can), in other words.

call if you need to, and ride safe!

for anyone who might be runnin' late on Saturday, here's the first leg of the ride, to give you a decent chance of joining up with us.

i hesitate a little bit to post this, out of fear that if you ARE playin' catch up you'll ride in an unsafe manner doing do. please don't. it ain't worth it.

we're lauching from Wofford Heights, on the shimmering shores of Isabella Lake, at 0800, and hoping to hit Ponderosa for breakfast at about 1000. we should be in Springville (gas and good cell phone coverage) about 1130 or noon.

if you haven't acquired us by then, stop trying, and meet us back at Wofford Heights. Denise will be home all day, with phones close at hand. if something comes up, leave a message on my cell and EBear's cell (we'll be checking for messages when we can), AND call Denise and let her know what's up.

BUELL DEMO RIDES!!!

Glendale, Bartels' and Lancaster HD are hosting the BUELL Demo Ride truck at the Toyota 200 next weekend.

This is the same setup as in the Long Beach show so if any of you want to try one of the new bikes, come on out. If you have friends you'd like to have a chance at one of the Buell models (BIKE MODELS, that is!) - have them come on out. They will have BOTH sizes of the Firebolts and Lightnings as well as the Blasts.

You ought to make it to the Toyota 200 in any case! It's going to be the biggest money race in the USA this year and it's on our own home track! 3-day admission is now $30 with info at http://race-wsmc.com/news.htm admission is to pits, as well.

For whatever reason I don't know, they have us Novice racers racing in the morning on the main race day, Sunday.

Come on out!

Weather has looked positively GORGEOUS down here all day and I have been pacing my cage continually the past 12 hours.

Glad the day is turning out for our Oktoberfast participants up Ferrisville way!
