my schedule precludes me from attending all the meetings. I am kinda like Mike, if I can hit 4 a year I am doing great.

Wonder if someone will post the minutes of the meeting via either email or the BWB? Sure would be nice to know what is going on with both Hal's and the club. Communication has an interesting effect on preventing attrition.

Would be nice if either Gerry or Tom would post whats going on. I know we have also heard many many times now that the brew city brag site would be up in a couple days....hmmm how many months has it been now?

Communicate folks, not all of us are mind readers.

Historically, the recording the minutes are the responsibility of the secretary, who could not make the meeting for well understood person reasons this month. Dang, I can't remember which position assumes the secretaries responsibilities when they are absent. MikeJ...You remember Robert's Rules of Order? If not, I can check with the local Lions Club.

I dont think anyone records the minutes. Havent seen anyone do it. I could be wrong tho.

If nobody was there at the meeting & nobody gets nominated, does that mean its business as usual next year?

Hey Bill, so when are we..by that I mean Brew city..gonna gather around & have a campfire, sing songs & make smores? maybe we can have a fashion show at the same time showing off the latest in color matched jackets & boots to go with the bikes?

Oh wait, the bikes never get ridden so never mind that part. We can exchange recipes for pigs in blanket or for Taco salad:D

Like a friggin womens club at times I tell you. Supposed to be about riding bikes & it actually involves everything but that.

note that above was tongue in cheek & with sarcasm as a main topic point.

Hmmm...I think campfires are illegal in the 'burbs. But you can burn leaves two days a week. Believe that would be Tuesday's and Thursday's here in Brookfield. Then again, the kerosene sort of distorts the taste of the food.

Looks like I will save the roasting chestnuts by an open fire for winter when Di and I can settle in for a nice romantic evening around the fireplace. In the interim, we will be enjoying riding the roads and experiencing life to its fullest.

Great! Will be cleaning the Glider up after getting caught in the rain the other night. Just finished cleaning and lubing the leathers. Di will be out from 2:30 to 3:30 getting her schedule from a new line she picked up, but we are ready to roll otherwise!

Got to admit the website has been pretty much my idea and not having it up is pretty much my fault.
Though it might encourage me if I had a few good pics to put up there, right now the only pictures I have are a handful of my own bike. If anyone wants to e-mail me something they want up send it to thomlg@hotmail.com. I will shop around for a good host tonight and have a server picked out by the end of the night.

As far as the meeting, I can tell you this about our money , right now we got around $800+ in the bank and $50 in petty cash. The bank account will be pretty much empty when we do the donation and I just found out that a couple of smaller checks bounced when I went to deposit a new member's check. I think the bank still had the contact info for the last treasurer so it didn't contact me. Not sure yet I have to call them up and talk to a specialist.

What donation?

Bill,
I have a copy of a meeting book that included Robert's Rules, but I don't think it's been opened in over 10 years so I have no idea. Usually whoever has a pencil or pen and some paper takes notes. My little notepad in my shirt pocket is exempt from this rule however.

If Gerry is the only one who showed up for the meeting and then left then it stands to reason that there was no meeting so therefore there would be no notes no decisions no votes.

Has Hal's assigned a new liason person yet?
If this has already been asked and answered then just ignore me.

That's all I got for now,
bye.

Ah, okay, was just curious, (was sort of hoping it was for Mike's secret race bike project but that's okay). ;)

I was hoping the posts would drag Tom outta the woodwork:D

Yes the donation deal is my project.....I screwed up last week tho. My daughter had to take the baby to Childrens Hospital so we met her up there with the intentions on seeing that he was ok & then meeting with my contact there. Totally got wrapped up on the grandson that I totally forgot about everything else.

Mike...Was just wondering what the chain of command was in the case of an absence.

I take notes at the meeting as well for my own reference. However, for those that miss a meeting or so, it would be nice to know what transpired. Even if it is a meeting canceled due to lack of attendance notice.

I trust there were issues and announcements on the agenda that were to have been addressed at the meeting. If not...well, I am not going to go there as for an organization of this size, that is not an issue. (Gosh, how many negatives can I use in one sentence?)

Communicating the announcements via email is easy and structuring the issues for positive response or at least thought generation via email takes a little more effort but can be done.

I just don't care for the thought of losing a month in the process. Considering the current business, holidays, elections and planning next years events, I would think that losing momentum now is a critical issue.

Oh poop, here I go spouting off about how to run an organization. Never mind...It is just my opinion/suggestion and not worth the powder to blow it apart. Yet, it is interesting how the Buell 20th anniversary event was successfully organized and implemented via email, telephone and a few personal interactions.

I don't know about chain of command, my Buell is a belt drive.

I hereby nominate Bill as an officer of some standing in the B.C.BRAG for 2004 due to his recognized leadership in leading group rides (2 or more is a group) and in his directing abilities as noted in recent BattleTrax events.

As a side note I will regretfully have to decline any reciprocal nominations due to other time-intensive commitments. ;)
