Hey guys,
I had a great time!!! thanks for having us over. It was great seeing everyone again and meeting a few new people!! You guys have a really neat group of people and are doing a great job with your club!!! I agree with Ben in the fact that we should make this event one of our annual pilgrimages to KC. Wish we would have been able to stay longer. Next year we will try to plan a weekend around it!

Sam,
Thanks for the Hospitality again!!!! Your the man!!!

Frank,
It was really great seeing you again. Especially since you made the effort to come see us this time while we were in KC!!!

Racerboy and V2Win,
You guys really need to add this to your "to do" list for next year!! It is really a neat event. I could really see this as an event you would patronize on a regular basis. Tons of vintage motorcycles and old racers. They had free BBQ and both forms of beverages. Donations are accepted. Did I mention the BBQ was excellent!!!! (not a porkchop but smoked pulled pork and beef brisket!) The crowd was an even mixture of all types of bikes and riders.

Keith

p.s. I'll post a ride report and the photo's later.

p.s.s. the photo with Frank and I didn't come out for some reason, guess he really wasn't there! LOL

Keith,
I agree, this event was a blast. Not only was there good food, and some really nice bikes there, but you could also pet an alligator. What else could you ask for? Good to see you again.

Ben,
It was nice to meet the legendary "deer guy". Maybe you could mount some kind of battering ram on your bike for the next animal that crosses your path!!

Neill

That was a great time out at Ralph's Vintage Bike show. That Aglia Vincent was amazing looking, one of the prettiest bikes I have ever seen anywhere, and the 6cyl Indian, that was a trip to see ride in. Great food, I bought one of those nice shirts they had for sale and sure enjoyed seeing all you guys. It is very cool to ride in with a pack of Buells and attend a nice bike event like that.
I really admire those old guys for keeping the old scoots in such great condition so we can all enjoy them. I gotta work towards finding me an old Indian Scout to play with, I had a lead on an old 1938 track bike here in KC and I need to see if it is still available. By the way, who was the lady riding the blue XB9?

OK, heres the trip report/humor!!

Ben and I left my house approx. 12:30 Friday afternoon. I mapped out backroads all the way to KC. I had a bad feeling in the back of my head prior to our leaving my house. Probably had something to do with the result of my and Ben's last ride together. Some of it rang true! Within the first hour of riding Ben and I avoided 3 dogs and 1 Deer!!! None of which posed much of a threat since we were carrying considerably slower speeds than last time we rode together.

The next stretch of road turned out to be one of the more interesting area's I had ridden. It wasn't the road, it was the atmosphere. Wish we would have been smart enough to stop and take a few pics instead of doing so 20 miles afterwards. We were traveling south on route Y which is just east of Moberly, MO. I noticed alot of "CLUMPS" of dirt in the road. We travel about 2 miles down the road and I realize that we are traveling through a large Amish community. Little light bulb goes off in my head!! These were not clumps of dirt drug on the road from farm equipment!! this was the byproduct of the engine the Amish use for transportation! (HORSE and carriage). AAACCCCKKKK!!! Being the honry person that I am, immediately one thought goes through my head! If I stick my foot down and kick one of these "Clumps", Ben is going to get a nice manure shower! I decide this is not really a good idea, since he is going to have several hours to get even with me and I still feel bad about or previous ride. honestly just couldn't bring myself to covering that nice new XB in manure. When we stop, Ben informs me that I did indead splatter some of the manure on his new bike! Said I kicked some up with my rear wheel.

We continue down the backroads enjoying some decent riding. Found some real wierd off camber roads. Some with hidden turns as we crested hills. Neat road, very dangerous if your not careful. Decide that we are running way behind the ETA we gave Sam, so we start heading towards I-70. We have to gas up prior to the last stretch. Pull into a gas station and there it is!! The perfect gas station!!

Ralphwayne-4
ralphwayne-3

Where else but MO can you buy explosives, booze, smokes, and your favorite porn title or trinket while fueling your bike!!

We arrive at our gratious hosts bachelor pad (Shazam), remove our gear and pour down a few beers. Sam decides that I need to get Racerboy and John off my back about my front fender and temporarily installs one for me!

Ralphwayne-7

We settle in and decide to grab showers prior to dinner!! Thats where I saw the most hilarious thing!! Being the bachelor that Sam is, he obviously does not spend much time in houseware stores!! Dude, shower curtain rings only run about $1. :)

Ralphwayne-8
use number 1,000,001 for zipties!!

A glaring question comes to mind at this point!! Does Sam really not know that there are things specifically made to hold up a shower curtain, Or is he just saving a couple bucks because he and Jason(Wingman) have a bad habit of tearing these things down???

We head out to dinner at an Italian restaurant and meet up with Joe and his lovely bride to be. Bill joined us as well. We had a great dinner!! (props to Sam for picking up the tab!!) Then we head out to a local watering hole! Tried to bait Bill into joining us, but he was having nothing to do with it! (note, now we know why he's the smart one in the group) The place was kind of a hole in the wall dive BUT they serve one very very LARGE BEER!!

Ralphwayne-9
Ralphwayne-10
Ralphwayne-12
of course we had to finish them!!!!

Sam decides that we need to see a bit nicer place, but still close to home. (props to Joe for the round of drinks!) Things got progressively wilder from there! Joe and his bride to be really seem to get in the mood of things!!

Ralphwayne-11

Joe even spilled his beverage. Being the trooper that he is, he decided he was not going to let it go to waste!! LOL

Ralphwayne-13

Needly to say, Saturday morning was a bit rough! The normal 2 cups of coffee just didn't do it!

We met up with everyone and headed out to Ralph Waynes. What a neat event!! Vintage bikes, BBQ, and an assortment of beverages. Wish we had more time to really see this thing get going! Next year we will definately make it a weekend trip!!

We jumped back on the highway (Bill, thanks for the escort back to the highway!) and took the boring BUMPY route home! Now I know exactly home you guys felt when you left here on the Sunday afternoon after the Harley Rally! UGGHHH!! miserable! Sam, helped you guys get even with me on this one!!

Painfully arrived home safe.

Thanks for everything guys!!!

Hows the wife proof blinker bracket thingy working out? good I hope!

Looks as you all had a good time at Ralph Waynes. Someday I'll grow up and quit getting speeding tickets and be able to afford to go to these things. I mean wow, do you realize how much bike riding I missed due to ass kissing I do around here!!!!

See ya all Wednesday night, B.R.A.G. meeting night!! Right after my Union Meeting!

hahahahahaa,

"A glaring question comes to mind at this point!! Does Sam really not know that there are things specifically made to hold up a shower curtain, Or is he just saving a couple bucks because he and Jason(Wingman) have a bad habit of tearing these things down??? "
..... this statement needs a whole lot of clarification! true none-the-less.

kudos to everyone who made it out to Ralph Waynes' it was good talking it up with all of you.

thanx be to jason for the loaner XB. a great friand indeed! and yes.....it wheelies fine! Oh and thanks for finding me a roof to nail my fingers to when I got done riding that afternoon....nothing helps cure a good hangover like sweating on a roof for a few hours listening to an air nailer and bludgeoning your own digits

Ben and Keith, glad you all made it home safe and sober! paybacks are a bitch....if you think I hadn't planned the phone ringing at 3:00am and the alarm going off at 6:00am you are WRONG. merry christmas. " the look on your face when loading up to leave..........priceless!"

Heather, I made sure good behavior was his only option....we partied at the senior center for obese studies.

Frank, come up for air more often dude! and wipe that smile off your face........and get those bruises on your neck checked.

Paul,
The wife proof blinker bracket is great. It's exactly what I had in mind, but even more stout. I understand the ass kissing thing with the wifes. As I had to do that today for being gone all day yesterday. See you Wednesday.

Thanks for the good time, I always have fun binge drinking with friends. LOL!!

Now, if you can play some F'n Maiden I'd be happy!

I lived alone
My mind was blank
I needed time to get the memories from my mind
What did I see
Could I believe,
that what I saw that night was real and not just fantasy.

There you go Joe.

I can not believe that you did not get a picture of that Egli Vincent! I was really hoping that someone would have gotten a pic of it, such a cool looking motorcycle.
It is pretty cool to be able to show up at an event like that with a good looking bunch of Buells in a pack.
Glad I was able to get hooked up with you guys.
