Jackie,
Goody posted his info on the other page..
..In case you missed it?

This trip, I could totally pack two bikes in, and hit Ferris/Nuts up for a tour for the other half of my vacation.

Planning a nice, slow trip based out of the same hotel I stayed at last time. You know, the one with the bar?

Sooo...

What's a 93-4 BMW airhead with antilock brakes worth??

Low miles, and not abused. Never cleaned though?

Nuts, ???

What model is it tank? Mileage under 50k is desireable. I bought a 73 R75/5 for $2500 in 1998. Today that bike is worth 3-4K. Airheads are extremely sought after and one could turn a tasty profit but they are wonderful bikes to ride too, especially if it is a GS! Pics and info please. NVTS

I'm afraid not today. I'm a little tweaked from yesterday but the main reason is I gotta take the kids to bible school and pick them up.

Never thought I'd see you and your bike sooooo dirty. Hope you didn't break anything.Did you gain any style points for the get off?

Dang Jackie, looks very familliar??

Nuts, I haven't seen the bike. My mom's cousin lives a few miles from here, on a road less traveled. He gave the only info I have over the phone. It's a 94, and he said it's "Huge", so I'm guessin' GS, for $3K. Interested?

No style points Charlie. It was about as ungraceful a getoff as you can have. Nuts didn't have a chance to get a picture of me actually laying partially submerged in the water and mud. He was too busy laughing .
No damage other than a few scratches on the swingarm, slightly damaged radiator shroud and being sore from flopping around.
Take a lesson from that Tank. When you wreck your not supposed to do serious damage to the machine .

Proud of my boy Nuts too. We found an extreme angle decline that turned into a steep off camber hill climb on the other side. He followed right behind me and made it too

As far as being dirty well.... My bike has been the dirtiest on the past several outtings ain't that right Nuts?

Well, actually, for as hard as my bike hit, it did surprisingly little damage. And it ejected the rider safely away from any 3ft deep mudholes.

But cleaning the "mountain muck" off so I could fix it was a different story.

Glad ya'll had a good time, but when can I come play??

Good job Jackie,
That's what I tell my riders,if ya gotta get off, position yourself between the ground and the bike. So I don't have so many parts to replace.

Tank, you and the Turtlehugger are gonna have to pick dates based on your schedule and I'll do all I can to accomodate. Work is really haywire right now and Pops is needing me on standby for the farm projects. I do have sick time and am not afraid to use it. 94 BMW isn't gonna be an airhead. If it's a GS I will take it though. RT, I'll pass. IN other words, pics and details please.

Jackie, I washed the bike off today and you'd a thought that funk was set with liquid nails. Truly nasty stuff; and you went swimmin in it! Going to ride some new territory tomorrow am; full report when I recover.

Charlie, now I have been known to like a bike here and there but I'm not completely absorbed with new toys. Am I ? Maybe so. A fellow rider mentioned riding a yamaha 490 the other day and I had a little glimmer play across my eye. Every time jackie and I go up towards Eagle Rock I think of the ride you and I took and ran alongside the train as soon as we hit Route 43. Good Times! Keep that foot out and the roost flyin. NUTS

Tank,
Our wrecks were actually in two different places. Mine was on the OHV trails which require some skill and finesse. Yours was on Mills Creek Rd. which a novice could ride without bailing on .

Charlie,
Thanks for backing me up! I try telling these young bucks to make sure to protect the bike on the way down but they all seem to want to eject away from the 300 pounds of falling sharp metal .

Nuts,
I just sprayed mine of and called it a day. Trying to talk the kids into washing it for $10.00 apiece. I think the little suckers are gonna do it!

Nuts, Thats why I asked.
I'll go lay eyes and camera on it tomorrow, if it hasn't disappeared into the swamp??

Date does not depend on me. I need a date to take off. As long as it's not within the next two weeks, I'm good.

But Nuts needs rest before I come. I'm staying the week, and I need a guide. I have no objections to following a Uly with the 650 on the street.

35mph? Why was you going so slow? I know it was muddy but man thats just puttin' along. Now I know what happened. You didn't actually wreck you just fell over from barely moving.

Right on Charlie! Gotta protect that bike on the way down.

Tank,
Me and the Nutbag are going to Hatfield McCoy week after next for a day trip. I know its probably out of the question for you to make it for a day of riding but thought I'd throw out the invite so you don't cry when you see the pictures .
I guess you could roll in there that day to meet up, ride with us, have dinner and then get you a cheap room for the night. Head home the next day.
What say you bailmeister .

Yep, That's waay too far for a one day thing that would take me three days in total.

I'll think of it as a scouting trip. Thanks for going to check it out before I go all that way, just to find out that it sucks(seriously doubtful).

I'm still throwing around the WV thing Aug 15-17. Maybe I could talk you slackers into a Jeep trail run early in the week, like Tues/Wed or something, if I can get the Buell and The big DR in the shoebox together??

Tank, Aug15-17 is the WV Buell Rally and I'll be there! If you're up for 300 mile days on the SL c'mon. Good times!

This Hatfield-McCoy daytrip IS a shakedown run. We need to schedule a 3 dayer soon. NUTSSY

I've done 250 with no problems. I paid for the whole seat, but that day, I only used the edge.

Might need new rubber though.

How's about a Jeep trail/Hat-McCoy thing in the fall when it aint so hot. Mid-late Sept? Before the leaves fall.
Pick a date...

Guys, I'm feeling the famous Nuts Itch.

I knew I shouldn't have done it, but I sat on the XT.

I hear it calling to me whenever my thoughts start to wander to the open road, or the nearest twisties.
Instead of seeing the little yellow beast, I see a huge blue luggage-laden monster.(with a comfy seat )

Nuts, heard the discussions about the 08" mileage issues??? How's yours doing?

Tank, I'm seeing 40-43 mpg. Kinda crappy but there's a new Ecm download that's supposed to show a gain of 5 mpg. Once it's broken in (4k) I should be back up to 52-55 mpg. Get an XT in Red so we don't clash! Something about those Uly's.
