Is the wheel messed up?

A little, but I'm hoping not too badly.

You can see in the picture where the spacer was scored. What happened was the bearing disintegrated and the spacer went out through the bearing hole. At that point, the spacer was riding on the wheel. It did burr that portion of the wheel up, but I don't think it did major damage.

Nuts, We were just talking earlier about that. : ) Will be putting in some w*rk time early a.m. (prolly too dear-thirtyish then anyways to be on the Parkway) but the rest of the day open - hoping to get a ping from Carlos re launch time tomorrow too. Ferris is off to get new rubber - sure wish he'd come up with some off road tires this time (I just KNOW they're available for Road Kings) - thinking of trading in the Virago for something more appropriate...

NUTS, would be cool to hang with you tomorrow, and if it works with Carlos and Webe i'd be game, but i *think* Webe is riding up from NC in the morning, and if so, it think it would make getting to Roanoke by 0800 very problematic.

So Jim, did the Virago get a rise out of you? Weren't you recently talking about replacing your wheel bearings? Or did you recently replace them? I can't quite recollect.

Well my misadventures in finding the Absinthe Depot in Berlin last night seemed to stumble over into this morning. I got off track on my morning drive to work and ended up getting lost for a matter of minutes. But the reward was seeing a black Uly parked at an Imbiss (restaurant) on one of the never before been on streets.

At least my mission was successful tonight. I got some interesting Absinthe's to add to my ever dwindling collection. And the free samples that helped me decide which I wanted to add to my collection made the drive back to the hotel such a surreal experience. And, no, the hookers on Straße des 17. Juni didn't have anything to do with it. But it definitely made for some eye pleasing scenery.

Tomorrow it's off to Hamburg. Riding up/over in a car with a colleague, and will be riding back on an ICE train. Should be a fun experience. Now if I will just be able to find what they didn't have at Classic Bike (the Buell dealer in Berlin) I will be one super happy camper - for this weekend at least...

Brankin, I replaced the front bearings last week. The rears had 15k on them. Which is still way too early to fail.

Look at that rear wheel shine. I did a spike and found myself with a toothbrush cleaning it.

I know this is last minute and I'd know this if I had been paying attention . . . but who is meeting where for riding tomorrow?

I'm sure I'm supposed to be doing something responsible in the morning like changing oil or doing yard work, but I'd much rather get out and put some miles on.

Well, I gave a valiant effort towards going nowhere and putting miles on. I rode all the way up to NC66 north of Hanging rock and thought about running the rest of the way to Fancy Gap and calling you guys, but then I thought about the repercussions of calling Sarah at the time she expected me to be home only to tell her I was still 3+ hours away. I ended up cutting the rest of the ride short and heading home. All in all it was a nice ride and not a bad way to spend the morning. I covered some 300+ miles and even managed 54.4mpg out of one tank that included a playful run down NC66.

FB- Ditto. One of these days we'll have to plan a ride together.

You should have seen the goop that came off the rotor. Brake pad residue I assume. It actually looks like metal again.

Talked to Carlos a little while ago. They have had a good day of riding. The front muffler strap broke on the Uly. They rigged a temp fix and it also let go, so now they're on the 2nd fix. Hope it holds until he gets home.
