That place has some pretty strict rules..

No Penthouse models.. No ugly people - What, do they figure the trials folks'll have problems with distractions if either type attends?

Hey Bryce..

Let's see.. around 9 maybe? That should give us plenty of time to get to Fredneck - now then.. As for a meeting place.. How about the Sheets on Rt 15, just North of the Rt. 7 overpass? If you pass Rt. 7 coming up 15 from the Manassas area.. On your left is a DMV, at that light there is a Sheetz across from (I think) an Exxon. What do you think?

Hey Pete, the white rose m/c club back in the day was a hard core biker hangout. Now its a family place. The triumph rally is cool, lots of nice people. But the hillclimb events are crazy. If you have never been, you have to check one out. The hill is about 75% and the bikes go up so fast, you would not think its possible. The national champ is always there, he has a R1 motor in a custom chassis that run on alcohol. Can you say instant power !!

For those not on my email list, we're finally on line:

www.buelloffrederick.com

We're still filling in some blanks, but there's lots of potential there. We've got a "readers rides" section where you can post your fave routes, a photo gallery (feel free to submit some)...I'm very happy we've finally gotten this done. It's been a long time coming. Take a look, let me know what you think (be gentle, remember - it's only been turned on for about six hours now), and send in some cool pics and routes!

Also - open house this Saturday, HD/B of Frederick. Food, fun for kids (big and little), trying to get some Buell demo rides organized on our inventory bikes...and a ride-in bike show on Sunday, same place. Hope to see some Buellers out, maybe we can push some of these HD folks back and get some space of our own!! ; )

Ratbuell, signed the guestbook. Will try to make it on Saturday over to the dealership.

I also noticed that we don't have a photo section here. So here's so photos in no particular order:

Smiley - y'know, I have some 1/8" reflective blue pinstripe tape that'll do exactly that to your bike if you want....I use it on the lightning bolts on my helmet for some extra pizazz, LOL.

It's kinda dumb in the way that those import tuner kids are dumb, but I just had to showcase that see-thru blue and this works.

Personally I think it looks like Tron's bike. hehe

The whole thing is a product called Neonstring. At the time I got it, no one sold it locally, but now I've seen it in 5 foot lengths in auto parts stores.

Mine is one continuous string 40 feet long powered by a small DC/AC converter straped under the seat. The draw is in the milliamp range. There is an inline switch hidden over the rear brake resevoir to turn it on. Makes it easy to reach when I'm sitting on it and keeps it out of the way the rest of the time.

The string works as follows: an AC current is sandwiched between phosphor coatings. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phosphor

(I like how they call them glow in the dark toys. TOYS!!!)

The string is attached using clear silicon caulk/sealant that I picked up at a dollar store. It holds the string in place without being permanent. With a little rubbing pressure, it's gone like it was never there. And still holds up to being bumped or touched.

Ah. Silly me, using only reflective pinstriping on my lid, and on my S2... : )

Dumb? Nope, not in my book. Anything that helps a cager see me on my bike is a good thing (although I draw the line at the Bimmer-style flouro vests - you know, the ones you have to wear on base? lol).

And I honestly thought it was photoshopped. Very cool that it's actual light-producing stuff on the bike. Tron rocks!

Oh, she didn't mention pants. Nevermind I guess. JK

Pockets is where it's at man! Only old geezers and Uly riders have luggage! Besides, when you fall and everything is in your luggage, what punctures lungs and breaks ribs? Never fall on my keys again? You're just weird Joe.

Speaking of which, has my Ventura pack come in yet?

No, Mr. Anti-Luggage, your luggage set has not arrived yet...

Funny story. I gave Special Ed the quote from American Sport Bike to order, your name (eriC) written on it so he could order under your name. He comes to me and says "he doesn't have any money on his account, I can't order this stuff". I tell him it's on a gift card, it's OK, just order. He does. So looking it up just now, he ordered it under eriN, not eriC. D'oh. He says he'll fix it when the stuff gets here, but just in case, when you come in after I tell you it's here and they look at you like you have three heads...ask them to look under eriN. <sigh>

Oh, and I can't remember if I told you - there is no white insert. It's brushed aluminum in the pic, but just looks white. To be safe, I don't think we ordered...but we can if you want, just LMK.

You can put it in your new luggage when it comes in....

Oh good, you caught the sarcasm.

Yeah, I knew all about the mixup from talking to Honda Megan the other day, she said she would straighten it out for me too. Although I was a little suprised that it had only been on order for 2 days. That whole 'bulk order once a month' or whatever kinda blows my schedule. Hope it makes it in time because I'm gonna need the damn thing.

I don't really care about the other alum insert, I was just blowing money. That I really wish I had back now. That new tire I had mounted? Yeah, it picked up ANOTHER DAMN NAIL! Less than 100 miles, new tire, shot. Luckily for me, I ignored all the silly looks and jeers from everyone that thought I was foolish for having a spare rear tire made up, and the tire change went very well. I was back on the road after only an hour.

But now I have matched rims: both scratched. I'm estatic...

And it looks like my front tire is gonna have to be replaced before my trip up to WI. So that is gonna cost me plenty I'm sure. I need a better job to support my hobbies!

I have had people ask me why I wear that vest. I tell them I wear it so people see me right before they hit me!

I must agree, the pockets on it are cool. I keep my insu. info in the vest pocket that way I always have it.

I have been sprucing it up by adding some cool patches to it. Most recently, a Buell patch on the back. Gotta represent in Laconia this weekend!!

Yeah, I put patches all over the back of mine too. Makes it less dumb IMO.

Personally, I'm not a subtle kinda guy, so I have no problem wearing very bright obnoxious colors. The vest is not the most noticeable part of my gear. Plus no one can see it over the headlights staring at them anyway. So I can't honestly say that it works.

I wear mine to meet the rules, but I'm just as happy not wearing it too.

Sometimes I like to think I look like The Great Pumpkin scootin' along like a bat outta hell. OK, I don't, but you have to admit, it's a funny mental picture...

YOu gotta hate my job! I just had a friend purchase a new 1125R from me at Buell of Baltimore. His job requires him to be out of town until 6/26, so he has asked me to ride the break-in miles for him! Gee, I'll miss my Uly for a while.

After he picks the bike up, he will ride for a few weeks, then load it on a ship/plane as he will be working and riding in and around Seoul South Korea for 2 years during his stint at the embassy.
