What? You don't want to socialize with someone on a tube framed S2?
Not ALL of us have Firebolts! LOL

Actually its pretty hard trying to coordinate any get togethers, let alone get a group together for a ride anymore. : (
Now that the weather has hit the triple digits, I imagine it will be even harder to get anyone out on a bike...

AZ Buellers, I have been going out to Firebird the last couple Fridays for a cheap night out, and to play with the bike... I haven't seen any other Buells and only a couple Vrods. There are quite a few Asian bikes and 1 or 2 Brits.... I'd like to ask some of you guys to please come out, meet, and have a good time.

The lil woman and I love our Buells but are having a difficult time meeting other Buellers who really like to ride.

Please come out and join us...meet a couple really into buells and hopefully we can set up a few other rides or a regular drag day at firebird or speedworld....these things are a blast in the 1/4

Jason,
There are quite a few Buellers out there on the east side, must be getting too hot for them to come out!?!?
As for riding, I ride every weekend up into the mountains, Saturday I'm riding up Hwy 260 to showlow, and coming back Sunday through the Salt river canyon.
Your welcome to come along if you really want to meet a pair Buellers that likes to ride. ; )
I'll pass on the drag racing, been there, done that, I'm getting too old and slow to appreciate what these new bikes can do, compared to the old iron I used to race in my younger years...

Hey yall,
I am looking to work on the bike sometime soon, and was wondering if anyone else would be able to help, just to assure me that I am doing things correctly.
I am newer to the buell scene, so I dont have much experience pulling the bike apart, would like someone who also needs to do work or whatever there, just to bounce questions off of.

Thanks Yall,
Alex

Bart... Hey thanks for the invite... I PMed you with my info so hopefully we can set up a ride and meet up. Does Ms. Bart ride as well.... my gal is trying to find some lady riders to hop out with now and again but lady Buellers seem to be kinda rare as well...but then again I'm new to this site.

Notmy.... if you need help ask... I've only talked to one or two people here but the few who have actually responded have been incredible people so far. I would also offer to help you should you need... my experience with American twins may be usful to you as well as the equipment I have... so anytime you need call... just don't ask me to write it cause my spelling will drive both of us nuts... more of a artwork and motor guy

Notmy,
If your going to tear your bike apart, the best thing you could do for your bike AND yourself is get a manual.
Aside from that, I can try to answer any questions you may have as you "pull your bike apart".
There are, or were, others here in town that have done a bit of work on their Buells. I don't see to many posting like the old days, but they may still be lurking and may help out also.

Jason,
answered your PM, I may be in for a ride on Sunday, the weather forecast is calling for rain, and possibly snow up in the mountains late Friday and Saturday, so maybe a run out to Tortilla Flats on Sunday is in order.

That is quite a ways to limp an "injured" bike. Thanks for the offer!
If you are ever in the valley, let me know and maybe we could get together, ( in a completely straight and heterosexual way)

Don,
Have you tinkered around with ECMspy much? How do you like it? I have a cable on the way, and am looking forward to using it.
I've been up your way the past two days trying to put miles on my Uly, your such a lucky dude to have the spars right there in your back yard!
Have you got your bike back up and running the way you want? Are you ready for some rides?

To all:
Sunday ride to Tortilla flats.
meet at 9AM at the quikPikor quicktrip, on Mesa Dr. and baseline just south of the 60 in Mesa/Gilbert.

Hey lookie there! My login still works!!! LOL! Hey guys long time no talk to! Bartimus is back in the Valley of the Sun??? Sneakey Sneakey. I've been busy recruiting, got one more year left...then I'll have a life again. Good news though. We built a house in Maricopa and Eliz will be moving out there, Bart I'm sure you could get her out riding, she misses it. I'll be rounding up a Ulysses here soon and heading out there often. We're pulling a Mel and "Ski"! Don, Brian, Aaron, whats up guys!

I don't know when I'll get back on here so don't get mad if I disappear again, but I'll try to be back on soon.

Johnsonej,
I can do a TPS reset for you, I'm on the north west side of town at 35th ave and the 101 loop. shoot me an email and we'll set up a time.

Jason,
did you go to the drags on Friday? did you run your Buell?
Your such a cool "cat", LOL
Look forward to seeing you and your friends on another ride...

How about setting up a ride to Superior, Winkelman, and Globe for the weekend of June 14th?
Meet on the east side at the same gas station around 9AM? do lunch in Superior after riding the loop?
Lets have some input folks...

Brian,
I know your lurking out there somewhere, come on! Get that bike out and lets play like the old days! I dug out that seat for ya...

Well I went to smog my S2 today and I failed miserbly! I even added alcohol to the tank a couple miles before I hit the smog station. I wondr if I have a vacuum leak since I heard it'll make it worse if you use alcohol.

They have this new procedure where they make you run up the idle to 2200-2800 for 25 seconds then retake the idle. Before it was just idle now itsthis bs. This f ing sucks! I also found out my VOES has been removed so I dont knowif this plays a part in it too but the previous got it to pass somehow before. Bart help me re-build the carb and then I had it tuned on the street. I couldve swore it would pass. Bike runs great too. Like I said this f in sucks!

I was wondering if that VOES was going to make a difference...
I posted a search in the parts wanted section for ya, we'll see what comes up.
I think they cost about $75 new. : (

You can check for vacuum leaks by starting the bike and while it's running spray something like wd40 around your intake. If the RPMS go up, you have a leak...

What did it fail? CO is partially burned fuel, high readings indicate a rich mixture. HC is un-burned fuel, caused by a misfire or extremely rich mixture. A vacuum leak can cause a lean misfire, which would increase HC, but lower CO.

It failed both. Heres how it reads:

1st Idle reading: (HC) 2173 (CO) 6.88

Pre condition reading (HC) 1296 (CO) 7.49
(reved from 2200-2800 for 25 seconds)

PRE CONDTION STANDARD (HC) 500 (CO) 5.0

FINAL READING (HC) 1977 (CO) 6.86

IDLE STANDARD (HC) 1800 (CO) 5.50

I forgot to mention I used 91% isophorol alcohol. Someone said I was suppose to use 70%. Is that right? Also someone mentioned race gas.

Lets hear some techniques here. Well with the new procedure it'll be harder to pass.
