Please forgive me for I have sinned!

I have been a BMW owner for less than two years... and have only been to one rally... the 2002 Land of OZ Rally. (I'd love to have a new Rockster.) I even hung out with a bunch of non BMW riders at that time. So I never saw a miss piggy chair oops... kermit chair... and in all my hanging out at the local BMW shop... I never heard it spoken!!!

I am only 49 years old... so maybe I am not old enough to be accepted by the hard core BMW bunch. I always seem to be the youngest in the group. Whereas in the Buell group... I am the old fart... I am even older than KCBILL... really!

Does anyone know where I can find any Buell embroidered patches for my jacket? I would love to have a good sized 3" or so Pegasus or other cool Buell related patch. Only one I have is the BRAg one that I got when I bought my bike.

Rustyx1w,
Daves at Waterloo has a couple of the small ones too. I have been on the hunt for some cool Buell patches myself. Those and decals, my local Buell/HD dealerships don't have anything and wont order anything.

The KC mob made it back unscathed as far as I know, with all but Richie, Keith, and Neill having checked in. No calamities, or disasters to speak of. Digger, John, and Bob were still having Breakfast when we left this morning.

Bob and John showed up about 1:00am Sat., a full hour ahead of their ETA. I wonder how they did that? they were greeted by a modification (made in the wee hours) to the marquee. pictures soon. we were all just putting our last beers to bed....but had room for one or two more.

Friday night and Saturday morning were both a little colder than anyone really anticipated but all managed OK. I don't think the lucky few who got "cots" would recommend them to anyone.

I think everyone had a great ride yesterday with just a coupla deviations from the route. One was a suggestion from the inn-keeper, one was just made by a few lost souls, one was made to re-unite the rest of us with said lost souls, (my maps suck)all in all a very successful outing. A few of our group got introduced to a whole new form of riding.....on the sidewalls. they seemed to have liked it!

no encounters with the man, in fact only saw one in the 350 or so miles.....I think the concensus was that HWY 123 (for everything you could want in a road) reigned supreme. with honorable mentions to 341(about 30 miles of high speed open corners and no traffic) and 160( for sheer fun-factor, close corners and on-camber turns throughout, lots of elevation changes thrown in).

Derek's tire was showing threads by the end of the day and my pipe has had it(as had everyone's eardrums) these two bikes came back on the trailer. Neill went off-roading (twice?) no-one went down. I only know about the missed turn slow down into the yard big sattlelite dish incident....Bill pushed him! hahahaha maybe he would like to share the other? over zealous riding in the early miles was rewarded with caution the rest of the day for a few of the guys.....kudos to level heads!

The hysterics resumed once back at camp. as the "B's" flowed freely (bourbon, beer, and bodka) no beads were earned by anyone, damn the bad luck! and I think only Jason (not that Jason, Erika) was lucky enough to crawl into bed with a woman, even if it was an accident. Because at three in the morning all those huts look alike, right? I told him not to tempt those married ones, their husbands have enough troubles, right keith? Jason came back a few minutes later to ask which number was on his hut and if we knew who was in four, we thought about sending Frank in saying "NEXT!" but apparantly Heather didn't think the first intrusion was too funny.

I am not forgetting to mention the normal hide-your-shit hijinks that went on all day, everyday, there was just too many of them. The bad thing about having this many practical Jokesters in one place at one time was that you never knew who was having a go at you.

anyone care to relate anymore of the details of the trip as Digger won't be back and able to defend himself or his wife for another day or two, hahahaa

Dennis, this is in keeping with my cover story, right?

Yes Keef and I made it back ok,both at home around 12:20.The weekend went great,no broken bikes and MOST OF ALL EVERYBODY CAME HOME UNSCATHED!The only bike to have a glitch was Bills, but it was an easy fix,his breather bolt was loose and leaking a tad bit of oil,and 1 of his spark plugs was loose. Not nearly as bad as when my battery shots craps all at once up in Quincy. We stopped by Joplin HD on our way down and were greeted by some good food(which Bill and Keef cooked up for us all),friendly people, and test rides on the XB9 and XB12.If your down that way,its a worthwhile place to stop, the Buell Shop that is!Its alway a pleasure to tag along with Bob and John as they ride thru the twisties. They took it easy on us or most of us would still be trying to catch up!For those who didnt go------YOUR LOSS!Its really neat to ride thru the twisties in a group following each other. All I can say is next ride,BE THERE!

What a great trip!! I can't wait for our next trip to Eureka Springs. The hospitality of the staff at Iron Horse Stables was great. The only thing they need to improve on is those crappy cots. By the way Sam, I went off road 1 time buddy, thanks to a large pile of gravel. It was also nice to have our honorary out of town mobbers present - Keith, Bob, and John. Also, I changed my user name today due to a switch from dial-up to roadrunner (Long Overdue).

Welcome back Mobbers (die hards)

Looks as though you all had a riot!

Hey Frank, saw ya commin through Stanley @ 1:00----1:30 today on my way back from the airport. waved but no reply, you seemed pretty intense in the idea that you wanted to get home I think.

Man, how was your guy's weather while I was out.
Mine was terrible----let's see--84 to 86 degrees alllll week!! not to mention very sunny!!! Although Thursday you could see the edge of the HURRICANE that went just North of Charlston (thank god!).

Friday felt like I knew the town O.K. so I went down to the local Low Country Buell (Harley) dealer to buy a shirt, you know the one that say's Buell on the front and their name on the back. HA!! what a bunch of crap they don't carry that kind of stock, SOUND FAMILIAR!!!! (same asshole's different dealership!!!!)
Anyway, looked around and low and behold a RED DEMO XB12 at my disposal, so I went home.

Just kidding!! shit I got on that bike with NO HELMET (not required in SC.) No ridin gear!! eeek!
I felt like a whore in church.
But none the less I got a full 1/2 hour joyride in anyways, went about 60 miles (you do the math) MAN I WAS HAULIN ASS!!! that thing is NICE!!
whew! had to vent sorry. I got back and the dude asked if I was going to sign some papers and deal that day---I said well if ya had some riding gear and shirts I could buy to go with it--TODAY-- he had a deal!! He said he would have to order it in, I said well then I will go back to Kansas City and just order my bike then, and grabbed my drivers license and headed for the door (rather quikly).

Man I got to sell my bike and get that XB12, (just gotta figure out how to sell the old lady on it!!).

Bill,

Got your voice mail on my recorder tonight, thought it would be to late to call so I'll talk to ya tommorow.

By the way I am having a guy I work with T.I.G. weld a patch on the header--then I am going to design my own freakin bracket to hold the thing still, then I can ride once again!

Hey Mobbers.
Bob and I just got back. We got in 550 miles today with about 100 of it in the rain. Damn near crashed only 5 miles from the house. Too fast, too dark, wet pavement, damn coon, good brakes and a great chassis saved me. Time to get some sleep. Us old farts get tired after awhile.
BIG PUSSIE signing off.

Hey Everyone,
Heather and I made it in late lastnight. What an incredible trip!! I want to thank everyone in KC for thier hospitality! Especially Sam! who gave up his own bed and slept in his guest bedroom to accomodate us. Wait a minute, scratch that! I was a little intimidated about sleeping on his defiled couch, and ended up in an area that is probably more defiled than any other area of his house! UUUUGGGGHHH!! j/k

This was probably one of the best riding trips (note riding) that I have had the pleasure to be involved in! 12 bikes head out to do what ended up being 391 miles of some of the best curvy roads in the US. Only 1 minor mechanical problem (Sams exhaust), 1 tire problem (dereks rear tire), neither of which stopped our progress. 2 small riding mishaps but no accidents!!! Anytime you get 12 testosterone ridden motorcyclist together and travel that distance, over those types of roads, where everyone comes back in one piece is a great day!!!! A pat on the back to everyone for riding within thier means!

Neil,
Great meeting you! Find that Vanson jacket??? For those of you that didn't make it, after about the first 1 1/2 hours of riding (while neil was getting used to a different style of riding) (We are not in Kansas anymore Toto!) you couldn't take the grin off his face the rest of the trip! Its great to see a new Bueller's face when he finally figures out what real riding is on a real machine! I think he is definately in for the next trip!!

Jason,
Great meeting you! Though I have some concerns about you and Sam sharing a bed together!

Derek,
Great meeting you also. I am going to do the same thing that Frank did to me lastyear. "Man, you really need to get a new tire!" LOL

Jason (wingman),
I can handle my own affairs quite well, thank you! You don't need to go sneaking into my cabin while I'm not around! But thanks for trying to warm the blankets for me!

Bob & John,
SLAB SUCKS, KCMOB RULES! LOL What am I giving you guys shit about, I was the orphan during this trip! great seeing you two again! Thanks for lending your experience to this trip. Anytime you two show up, I have a good feeling about the ride we are about to embark upon. Once again this rang true.

Keith and Richie,
great seeing you two again! Richie, your not fooling anyone with that "I ride the speed limit" crap! LOL I followed you for a few hours and I know thats not entirely true!

S1Lightening,
Frank was in a hurry to get back to see his GIRLFRIEND!!! At least thats my guess since he spent a 1/2 hour of good quality beer drinking time on the phone with her! LOL

Frank,
How come you can give me shit all weekend during the ozark trip about the quality of my front tire and and I didn't hear you give Derek one little tongue lashing???

Bill,
Is always a pleasure to see you again. I have alot of respect for someone that can keep that rowdy KCMOB under control!!! Your the one that seems to really keep these guys organized, together and motivated! Your really doing a great job with this group!

Neil,
No problem on the beer! Great to finally meet the guy that I have been giving so much shit. Hope the move in went well. Sorry you couldn't join us, maybe next year.

Mike,
Thanks for coming out and joining us for some great BBQ and a couple beers!! At least one member of you household had the courtesy to come join us upon our arrival! (I can't make it, I'm spending time with my GIRLFRIEND!) Whats up with no disappearing act out of you Thurday night??

Well, gotta go, since we arrived back earlier than planned the little Boss is making me go work on wedding stuff on our extra day!! UGGGHHH!!!

Keith
