Who's going?

Sunny and I are doing our usual slow ride up to the Adelaide Inn in Paso Robles and rolling in Friday early AM.

We will overnight again on the way home in the Adelaide in Paso on Sunday night (taking Monday off work)

Gonna be fun stuff!

Supposedly going to be announcement any day now.

Let's ALL put some more bucks in the tip jar!!! Jerry Johnson and Ebear are going to BLEED when fuelling up the trailer towing vehicle!

I'm definitely going, but I don't know my logistics yet. My 08 Uly is living up at Terry and Jim's shop until Laguna Seca. I need to fetch it at that time. So I think I'm taking my truck....bummmer.

But there are some other options that I still need to think about. Maybe I'll fly up to get the bike and ride DOWN from Sonoma instead of up from here.

But there's plenty of space at the Love Shack campground at this time.

I'd like to ride up with a group, and camp along side the love shack. Where and when will the rides be leaving in So-Cal?

Scott,

Al Lighton is trailering up. Ebear is likely organizing a ride of sorts starting from farther South.

Sunny and I always ride up starting from Palmdale on Thursday, overnighting in Paso Robles and heading out early on Friday.

Since everybody's schedule and starting locations vary so much, you might check back every few days as the time gets closer.

Shoot Al or Ebear a PM about arrangements to camp out. There is room at the campsite and they CAN haul gear for you in the Love Shack trailer if you don't want to haul it on your bike.

Reminder: July 3rd is the last day to order Laguna Seca MotoGP tickets and receive them in the mail. After July 3 any tickets ordered will be held in Will Call either at the track or at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Seaside.

Paddock passes are still available for ...{gasp}... $50 ea.
Parade Lap tix sold out.

SoCal Buellers, Let's ride!
Jen & I are riding up Thursday and camping with the Love Shack crowd.

I've decided to go ahead and form a ride from Los Angeles up the coast. This ride will take place on Thursday, July 17th, and will be departing from H-D/Buell of Glendale at 9:00am. From there we will ride up Hwy 101 to Gaviota State Park (which is north of Santa Barbara). From there, we can take Hwy 1 north to San Luis Obispo, and then continue on to Monterey. If you are planing on attending this years USGP and would like to join this ride, let me know and I will add you to the list.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me....

Thanks,

Scott Pierce

I am planning on doing a similar ride as last year that I did with Al, Reigndog, and Calidrew. We rode up through Ojai, Taft, and spent thursday night in SLO. It was a good ride (except for the 15 mile dirt goat trail reigndog lead us down) and more interesting than riding 101. There is a farmer market/street fair in SLO on thursday nights that is cool to see and you are well rested to ride Rt.1 the next morning with less traffic. Anybody interested in doing this?

Brian,
It's looking likely that I'll be doing the same on my 1125R, so no goat trails for me. I'll ride up with you.

I have the same constraint as last year, I have to be in Monterey at 11-12 on Friday to pick up tickets.

Sounds good Al. Did you make reservations in SLO yet? I'll probably do that tomorrow night. I hope Rt. 1 is open by then.

PSA:
Check Caltrans Road Conditions daily for Hwy 1, 101 and any other numbered routes being open, closed or detoured when making your riding plans.

Note, it doesn't work for county roads like G16 which is Carmel Valley Rd; it returns status for 16 (State Route 16). So the algorithm is only looking for a highway number.

Afraid of a little goat trail? That was the best part of the journey last year!

Due to work constraints, I won't be making the trek to LS this summer.

Hwy 1 is open between SLO & Monterey, as is 33, 58 & 101.

SLO is having the CycleWorld party on Fri night.

We're staying in Paso Robles but if we get up there early enough, might swing on over to SLO
