If you wouldn't mind posting here so I have an idea of how much soda/water to have ready, that would be greatly appreciated. For lunch on Saturday, I plan about a 25 minute ride to a great little BBQ stand (Clem's in Port Matilda for any locals). Pulled pork sandwich/side dish and a bottle of soda/water runs about $7. The have BBQ chicken, ribs, and other stuff available as well, just the pulled pork is my fave. I realize for some this will be a last minute decision, you will be more than welcome, come anyway! Pulled pork works for me. Maybe if we had a menu to look over Saturday morning we could give 'em a heads-up as to the order that is coming. I am happy to feed the kitty for the water and drinks etc. *** Ben | ||

Clem's is big enough that we won't need to "order ahead". You might not think it when we pull in, but they can get you in and out w/o a problem. Just be prepared to stand while eating, they don't have benches/tables. They do have wooden wine barrels to use as a table though. They are not that far from Penn State, and I've seen them run people thru there in a hurry. | ||

Toona, I know this is a more or less local thing to western PA but if you know of a place that has Teaberry ice cream (usually hand dipped) let me know. Teaberry is not a flavor they carry around the Philly area and I practically grew up on it when I lived near you. It is strange the things one misses over the years<grin>. | ||

Meadows Frozen Custard in town will have Teaberry the prior Sat. I can get some for you and stick it in our freezer  Just don't eat it too fast, you'll get a brain freeze Meadows Flavor of the Day Calendar I'll check the sub shop down the street from the shop, the have hand scooped, but not sure the flavors they have on hand. | ||

Toona, I just saw the date change and it looks like we'll be out your way a week early. Unfortunately its to late to change our time off work. We will be coming out Friday and going home on Monday as long as I can get a new belt put on my bike in time. | ||

I am still planning on showing up Saturday morning. Those were some great roads last fall! Even on the RK they could have been a more exciting if not for the group! Clem's are 1 of the best! I just spent 4 days in Memphis doing BBQ sampling. Don's Bones ain't no slouch either! Radar | ||

Pos, sorry if my date screw up goofed your vacation up. The calendar I looked at when I set the date didn't have the holidays listed, so I guessed the wrong weekend. Memorial Day is actually June 2nd this year, I always thought it was the last Monday in May.  Bring the belt and we can change it at my shop in about 15 minutes  It's the least I can do to make it up to you and the Mrs. If XB9er, is in town (even is he's not I can), we can run a "personal Res Ride" for ya, how's that? | ||

 My mistake, I don't have a clue what I was thinking when I posted the date change, I WAS WRONG This weekend is the Res Ride, the original dates of Fri May 23 and Sat May 24 are correct. Jefco, we will be in and out of my shop (Res Ride HQ) all day long. Plans are to run a loop, come back to the shop pick up anyone who came after we left, run another loop, etc, etc, etc. The only "long time" away from the shop will be the ride to Clem's BBQ for lunch. We'll leave the shop around 12:00 noon and won't be back until around 2:00. I'm guessing (and purely a guess at this time) that we will be back at the shop at the top of each hour as most of the individual loops can be run in and hour or less-with the exception of the lunch ride. Checking interest: The local Honda shop is having an open house this Saturday. The only reason I mention this is they are offering 3 dyno runs for $30. No tuning, just tie it down and run. The Honda shop is about 3 miles from my shop. Would you rather ride in the a.m. dyno in the afternoon or ? |
