Hey all. Met Marcus & Steve at Hooters last night. May be coming down your way. You gotta see Steve's bike. Indescribable.

Me & Marcus tipped a couple and I gave him the URL. Might see him manana on a Uly if you go. Can't make it myself. Gotta work, got payments coming due.

Bikini contest at Hooters in 2 weeks on Wednesday. Say happy bunny day back to Mikey if you see him before I do.

Had to work. Got out on the Buell last night tho. Didn't run as well as the previous night, but it did make some tracks. Next week, I am pretty certain I catch the day gig, so I might be able to make it.

Well, it helps to check the screws on the bottom of the seat. They're being loose may have contributed to the odd feeling I was getting.

Rode with the stock seat a couple of days, then put the touring seat back on. Didn't have the problem until Wednesday, when I changed the seat out. Checked the screws and sure enough, they were loose.

Tire pressure may be low too. Put 200 miles on it since last Wednesday. Going to search out the best pressure for the Pirellis.

It finally happened. Bike tipped over in the grass. Didn't break the mirror, but it kind of stripped it out, so I can't get it back on without loctite, or having it rethreaded. Good news is the bar ends saved the rest of the bike, and the lsl peg didn't break. It was still moist from the rains on Sunday, and I had it parked in the grass and running. Came out, was ready to lock the door, and the bike fell over. If it had stayed up another 30 seconds it would have been ok.

Good news is I just picked it up, hosed it off, and it fired right back up. I then took it out for a cruise. Rode both bikes yesterday, but have been mostly on the Buell for about the past 2 weeks. BSEG.

Ran 200 miles on the softail down to the keys and back today. Got to get some dogbone risers for the bars. Too much of a reach when reclined.

Still have to get the mirror rethreaded for the bully. haven't rode it since last week, but someone today was talking about drag racing, and I said, ok, let me get my other bike, and I'll be right back...

OK here. Nice to hear from you. Signs of life. Put about 300 miles on the Buell and was using it for after work putting around. Ended up getting the Harley out last Monday, and haven't been back out on it since.

Running pretty good. I have been working on Thursdays, so I haven't been able to make it down there. I'll get there eventually. Doing ok right now, but really need a better job. Got some extra expenses coming in next month, and don't know if the delivery business is going to cut it. As soon as I am caught up it'll be fine.

Hey! It's been a while, well ran about 350 miles on the Buell this weekend down to Key West and bunked in Marathon. WOW did I need that! I hope your trip was as good as Mike's and mine Stretch. We should all make this a regular thing and get our schedule's straight. Just find an agreeable time and destination then have a thunderstorm of Buells rumblin' across Florida like hurricane season.

Plans for 2 years now to trailer up, so I can actually ride a Buell there...

Agree totally about the Keys run. But I did it on the Softail. Not that I wouldn't on the Buell. In fact, I may end up doing it on the Buell next time I got to go down there. Want to check the gas mileage on the highway.

Wish I had the bread Clif. Got enough for one payment today. Now I gotta make up two more. Should be caught up by the end of this month, God willing and the creek don't rise. Oh, and I can avoid the beer and the strip joints for a couple weeks.

As far as avoiding the strip joints, can't you just stroll down South Beach at the bars area for about 1 mile? Isn't it, same - same?

I must be weird, but I've never enjoyed the Keys run. Done it 2 or 3 times now. To me, it's so much better in a boat, I can't enjoy it on wheels.

Still, different strokes.

So, I know stretch isn't doing Homecoming, anyone else?

Newest addition. Time to put on some miles. I am selling off the "standard" X1 and the silver 03 Firebolt.

Yeah, 07 Kingpin Tour. Rode it over Christmas break, and I kept going back to it.

Couldn't take the price, but I finally got an offer I couldn't refuse, just over 16.

Unless you have already committed to it, check Cycle Trader. When I worked as a salesman, I had the opportunity to check out some of the Victorys, including the Ness version. They are really nice scooters, and well worth the price, but the market doesn't think so. If you shop around, you may be able to better that price, by about 5000 dollars.

No, I ain't kidding either. Used ones are available, some with really low mileage. Of course, the market may be warming up to them. There's nothing wrong with them though. They have a lot where it counts, and really do get up and go.

Just out of curiousity, have you checked out the XT yet?

Yeah, but Buell would put me at the weight limit when i buy it, before I add the weight of the bags and fill them up.

I am not getting rid of the original 2000 X1 I bought, it still makes me crazy, but ti's useless 2 up except short stints.

I realize well the Victory line in general loses money like it was built in Japan. I'm OK with that. Don't plan on buying another, or hopefully, selling this one either.

I do love the fact they are known for being rather bullet proof and excellent in the longevity department.

The Kingpin Tour was new in 2007. There was a Kingpin Deluxe in 06, but there are many significant differences in the 07.

And how about that paint??? lmao

It's pretty radical. Victory, or possibly Lindby, makes engine guards and bag guards for it. Highway pegs make all the difference.

I am in kind of a stall pattern right now because I have fallen a bit behind on bills and am playing catch up, but I have about 400 dollars worth of accesories I need to get to make my softail better. Going to put risers on it, and extend the forward controls.

I also have my eye on the bags for the SS. That, a helmet lock, and passenger pegs plus possibly a laminar lip and it should be ready for some longer hauls too.

Budgetary constraints are keeping me from doing everything at once. But it has also forced me to reevaluate what I really need vs. want, and take my time. I have been riding both a lot more lately.

The Victory is an excellent bike. It's so much more than an investment bike. How many HP and torque? How big is the engine? Are you planning on changing pipes or anything else?

This one already has Stage 1 (surprised Harley hasn't stopped that!) and the pipes are nice but not obnoxious.

100 Cubic Inches

about 85 HP Rear Wheel, and a Whopping 105 ft-lbs of torque is often reported after stage 1.

Not changing anything, hopefully.

With those numbers, and the weight of the bike, there's really no need.

But, IMO, that rear fender is obnoxious. It's three times the size it needs to be. Why in the heck did they make it like that???

I love that "swoopy tail end. Some of the older Harleys did this, or it was aftermarket.
I just looked at that picture again, I think it's a really bad angle.
Anyway, I think all that came to Victory when Ness started building some bikes from them.
Different strokes, I love the look, but the trunk bag is way too big, compared to the tiny panniers. So I'll like;y have it off a lot, unless it's rolling for distance...

Anybody look at swapping the XB front controls for the ones off the XT? Thinking about a bar change and a flyscreen and windscreen. Maybe some SS luggage. Just dreaming right now, but I bet it can be done.

Figure on the softail I can do extended forwards for 160 or so, and do risers and a new brake cable to get the bike ergonomically correct. Looking to do the same with the Buell. Love the seating of the XT, but no way do I have the money to trade. But a bar swap and windscreen? Maybe. Would probably need some new cables and maybe wire, although I can't say.
