Hey guys, I got my xb9s about a year and have my 5k miles on it. I need to take it in for service but really cant afford the paradise price. I was contemplating doing it myself, but still part of me wants someone who really knows to take a look. Any other service places that will not charge so much or should I just go for it myself and dont fret so much?

Thanks,
Dan

There is not all that much to the 5000 mile service.

Just do the following:
oil and primary fluid change
Clutch adjustment
Lube cables
TPS reset (I can do this for you)
Visually inspect wheels, tires, brakes, belt, lights, air cleaner etc.

If you have a service manual this makes it easier for all the inspection points.

Also if you check out the Wrench Party Jim plans on having he will most likely have all the tools needed. This would be on May 17th.

Great. That is what I was thinking. I can do the fluid changes and the clutch adjustments...I could definitely use someone who knows the bike to take a look at things with me and such and let me know what I need to be watching for.

Now maybe I can save the money to replace my air cover which a wonderful kid decided would be a good place to test his spray paint.

Sounds like a good time to paint it hot rod black and practice some pin striping.
