I kid you not. Since I'm too cheap to buy some chain lube I gotta wait until Nuts gets back so I can mooch his.
Never fear, a little kerosene and a brush and it'll be good to go.
I even have several chips in the paint that I haven't tended to yet.
Are you guys shocked or what? Now when I break down and get me the BMW 650 Dakar for my new streetbike it will be back to cleaning as usual.
I can't let Nuts and Tank have all the fun of buying new motorbikes .
If you still lived here Charlie I would not hesitate to buy an FXR frame, S&S mill and some billet rims. We'd have fun for sure building that sucker up! I always wanted to build a replica of Mickey Rourkes' bike from Harley Davidson And The Marlboro Man.
I already have his coolness and charm so why not have the bike to go along with it ?

I'd much rather be his stunt man than him, unless your talking 9 1/2 weeks.Maybe he needed a stunt man there too.

Dang, Charlie,

You aint gotta go and break your self to tell stories around here. Ours are somewhat crazy at best, but your race stories have everyone riveted. You hurt yourself starting the bike?? HTFU!!!

But really, Glad to hear that the beast is a runner!

Jackie,
Since you are too cheap to buy the lube, I suppose you will have Nuts do it for you as well?? I saw him lube chain, and it wasn't pretty.

His chain is definitely good to go. And so is everything else within 6 feet of the chain. I mean he could leave a slick spot in the road for a quarter mile from the s#it slinging off the chain.

Tank,
I need to let you try and start this beast and then you would understand.LOL It has a piston like a five gal. bucket and a two stroke every stroke is compression stroke. That's why I put a remote starter on it.
You have to throw all your weight on it to keep the wheel from sliding. When it fired, the front end came up(back end down) and I was running on a horizontal plane(not a pretty sight)hung my toe in the dirt and the rest is to painful to talk about. The worst part is everybody saw me.and I didn't get any style points.

Tank,
I'm hearing ya' man. The underside of his rear fender looks like someone spread peanut butter under there. He goes through chain lube like I used to go through Plexus .

Charlie,
The mental picture I have of you pushing that bike and the spill that resulted from it ain't pretty. It would have been downright amusing if you wouldn't have gotten hurt.
Next time don't injure yourself so we can all sit around and laugh about it.
Lord knows we give you enough things to laugh about with our misadventures .

OHHHHH, that's cold. I'm stuck down here in paradise: eating roast pork with fried plantains, all washed down with a few cold Corona's. It was 60 degrees last night so we got the fireplace lit-up. Took my brother for a ride this morning to work on some skills; now I know someone more qualified should be doing that but when NUTS is the best you have... I was able to pulla little wheelie on Pops' new bike though. i think I'm gonna go stretch out for a nap on the porch; better make sure the sidestand is down!

Nutty Nutbag,
No gobbles from the club or Crowells Gap. I did however find a big Black Rat Snake, Corn Snake, Five Lined Skink and Fence Swifts.
Gonna be a good Herp year!!

Charlie,
I can't laugh at ya' because I know what rib injuries feel like. Next time when you fall on your face make sure you leave the part out where you get hurt

I should have reported before now, but...

Everything with the DR is in limbo.

I fixed all the crashed stuff except the side plastic, and the f-ing grips. Suzuki can suck Nuts on the throttle grip. Had to order a new sleeve, an aluminum sleeve. Hope it fits.

The suspension is under way as well.
I put new springs and oil in, but it aint enough. Got the RaceTech Emulators on order, and the rear shock got UPS'ed today.

The front will end up with Eibach springs, custom weight fork oil, and the RaceTech cartridge emulators. I'm doing them myself.

The rear is being done by Rick at..
http://www.motocd.com/

It will be 3-way adjustable, and set up for my weight and riding "habits".

Yes, I was that un-happy with it "up there".
Even with my little 160 lb ass on it. There was no damping in the front, and I got hit in the ass by the seat. No way to adjust.

I'm going all out, and the shock will be top notch work for $495. It will even have seperate ride height adjustment.

Next thing ya know, they will have air bags triggered by collapsing kickstands.

Come to think of it, I could have used one of those when I was pushing that darn bike.

Charlie,
Me and Nuts are having a carwash fundraiser to come up with the money to buy you some proper protection. I hold the sign and Nuts washes the cars in a thong bikini (It ain't a pretty sight). A few more weekend and we will have the money to get you one of them emergency life rafts that automatically inflate when you pull the string.
Strap it to your chest and when you feel yourself falling just pull the cord and it will pad your fall. As an added bonus you can use the included oar to row for cover when the crowd starts laughing and throwing peanuts at you .

With Nuts in the market for a new bike we gotta make sure we steer him clear of a BMW. With his history of KRTO (Kickstand related tip overs ) those opposing cylinder heads wouldn't stand a chance!

I don't know Jackie, those cylinders might act like a rocking chair. I was watching Sport Bike on speed channel the other nite and they make a cage for these stunters to protect the bike when they drop it. Should be on Nut's wish list.
As for the inflatable raft/chest protector thing, not bad,but would be really hard to repack. Need something a little smaller that I could repack before the crowd got to large. Hard to run and hide with a raft strapped to your tush.

Nuts,
Sorry I missed your call. Kali got hurt at practice so we had to get that taken care of.
The coach brought in a retired college pitcher to "help" the girls learn to hit fast balls. Long story short the woman hit two girls in the head, Kali caught a 55mph ball to the shin bone and one girl got her wrist broken in two places.
Looks like Kali got off lucky with just deep muscle bruising/bleeding and some major swelling. It hit her so hard the bruise shows the pattern of the stitching on the ball.
So far 10 girls have quit and two more are seriously considering it.
I knew I should have coached!!

All right Nuts, don't be teasing the flock with the Buell Sh*t. You know how guilable we are.
Sorry about your little girl Jackie. Hope that doesn't make her gun shy at the plate.
Nuts if you want to see that big gobbler, all you have to do is lean your gun up against a tree and walk off about ten yards to take a leak and he will appear out of nowhere.

Charlie, heard a couple birds yesterday and saw some too, but none for dinner. Turtlehugger and I went fishin and we caught a wopper! He's got the picture somewhere. I went by to see The_Raven yesterday and he showed me the new Buell XB12XT. I was rather impressed with that bike but riding my Versys over was extremely satisfying. Both bikes serve the same function in the same way; one just costs double. And requires premium fuel, holds less of it, has higher insurance costs and have been known to run hot(so I hear). Right now the price of admission for the Buell Soulful experience is just too high, and I've got other fish to fry. NUTS has to fix the trailer today and register the DRZ for a ride this evening.

Me and Nuts went for a mudrun this afternoon in the POURING rain and had a blast! I was dead set on taking pictures of the bikes covered in slop but the driving rain kept washing it off. After I noticed the mud was getting rinsed off I hit every funky hole I could find in the hopes of making some stick but it just wasn't meant to be.
I also had my first wipeout on the DRZ trying to cross a fallen tree at an off angle camber. Gotta say the Suzuki crashes well and incurred not even a scratch. Nuts wisely stopped and used some pieces of wood to help give the tires some bite before hitting the log and made it over unscathed.
I have said it before but it bears repeating. These things are so fun it seems like it just can't be legal!

Tank,
When we got to where you wiped out me and Nuts stopped so he could set up the scenario for me. Shame I couldn't have witnessed it first hand. When you get that thing ready to go again you need to head back over so I can see you flop over for myself .

Don't leave the camera out until I talk to you.
Arielle has pneumonia and Kali has strep so I won't be over that way for a few days.

Call me after Deadwood (goes off at 12:00am) on the cellphone to give me a morning turkey report.

I would love to let you think that is me, but really it's my older son. I just build them( with an occasional test ride)he gets to have all the fun.
The track was dry and slick and he is just tip toeing, will try to get some better shots at the next race.
