I live in Prince William County and according to my sticker, I need to get my bike inspected by the end of May. The questions is, where can I go to get that done? A dealer? Sort of related, I have the full tuber race kit on a carbed bike. Anyone have experience with the likelihood of it passing VA emissions? Thanks! | ||

Hey Jc, not a problem. Ride down to your local gas station / Insp. station and get it done there. Unlike cars, (ask me sometime why you can't drive your car into the inspection station sometime) you will be allowed to ride it into the station to get it done. The really good part is most of the small stations aren't usually 'bike savvy' and probably wouldn't recognize a 'non street' exhaust unless you point it out to them. Then, you'll need to demo the lights, brakes etc. There is no sniff test on bikes (yet) in VA so you'll have no problem there either. Just make sure you've wiped it down nice and everything is working before you go (makes for a much easier visit). Most of the MC inspection at a gas station is visual! Unless the inspector is a STATE LICENSED Motorcycle tech, he can't make any 'test ride' demands. If you take it too a dealer, they will know what's not 'legal' at a glance and can cause all kinds of headaches for you (if they want too) with regard to the race kit (although most Buell dealers will not say a word - Some others might and that will cost you more money to correct) Hope this helps... | ||

its fun getting you bike inspected. most guys just stare at the fike for a few minutes trying to figure out where to start. honestly they need to lowetr the price on those inspecions. at least when they get a car they have to do some work like taking a tir off to instpect brakes, they check windshield wiper. lol and on the XB they dont even have enough space to put the sticker on the lower part of the fork. a lot of them don't even know its American, they always think its a ducati. but that is a nice compliment | ||

Ah well, on the road for another year! | ||
