That's really good. Easy to identify at all sizes from a small sticker to a patch to a poster. It has some similarities to some of the other club patches, but that's a good thing. The pegasus ties the clubs together to Buell and to each other. | ||

Ras/Blu - I was messing with our 'riding the pegasus' idea and think I have something...but don't have a scanner to show you. I'll see if I can upload a digital pic to one of you, of the page I scribbled it on. Basically carrying the top of the lightning bolt above the pegasus head, into the outline of an "arm", and above that a stylized top outline of a helmet with face shield that tapers back into a smaller version of the pegasus top feather. I'll get a picture... | ||

Had an idea, sketched it out. Didn't color it though, but its still just 3 colors: red, yellow & black. The head is the MD flag (which I've always kinda liked) the Vtwin is for the engines we roll with and for the V in VA, and the top two stripes and the stars are for DC.  | ||

I realize that I am just dropping in on this discussion and I have little clout to inject my $.02. That said I would like to suggest that if using Smily1eye's idea, which is as I see it a very good one, color the v-twin blue with the Virginia seal on the crank cover. With that change it becomes more obvious Virginia is included. or not Did anyone suggest C.C. Riders? I will now exit stage left  (Message edited by xbduck on February 26, 2008) | ||

I looked at the seal for VA and it kinda sucked. Just that woman standing in a blue field. Gotta think of something else that VA is famous for... Check with Ras or Bluback about changing the name though, because I think it's actually locked in with Buell.com. I'm not in charge of anything, but they made me feel pretty welcome when I started making suggestions, XBDuck, so I'm passing it on. Your $.02 is welcome here. | ||

The State Flag of Virginia bears the Great Seal of the Commonwealth on a field of blue. The seal depicts the goddess "Virtus." She is dressed as an Amazon, armed with a spear and sword, and stands over a defeated despot. The seal displays the State Motto,"Sic Semper Tyrannis," which is Latin for, "Thus Always to Tyrants." Straight from the horses mouth at virginia.gov. This means that my education was not complete because I remember being told it was Liberty standing with one foot one the King. I'm glad I don't have to take the SOL's.(Standards Of Learning standardized testing in VA) The reason I said anything about CC Riders was because when I first looked at all the ideas, it jumped off the page at me. | ||

Oh don't get me wrong, I kinda like CCR, I think there might be issues with getting it changed is all. I think theres a registry issue with the company, and there was a democratic vote here about it. I just dont want to step on anyone's toes about the name. But since the patch was still up for grabs and there hasnt been a decision on it, I tossed out my idea. and I think if "thus death to tyrants" could be added, it would kick ass. I'm all about kicking ass and killing stuff. It's what i DO!  Like I said though, I checked out some stuff for VA and couldnt think of an obvious way to get the VA seal on the crank cover so it would show. Earlier on this post, they had a good idea but once the image was reduced, it didnt look so hot. I was thinking that the same thing would happen to lil miss Virtus. But I'm way hot for godesses'. Ask my girlfriend about it...  | ||

Wow.. In full color that's gonna be pretty intense.. of course, it's gonna be a bit of a job if we decide to do patches or shirts.. hehehehehehehe.. Also, with the (VA) Blue, it's gonna be quite a riot of colour. On the VA Seal. As long as we don't use it in a badge or mark of authority we should be OK. If you use it in a badge, etc. in the Commenwealth it's a Mis. If you USE it to elicit compliance from any person or entity in the Commonwealth then it jumps to a Class C Felony. (I'm going from memory and that info was filed .. years ago and with my old systems, my brain is still running the original operating system, I could be slightly off on my criminal charges.) As for CCRiders.. Hmmmm.. Well, we did already vote in CABO.. (dude where were you when all the voting was going on?) Not sure if we wanna open that all up again.. and change everything with Buell.com and what not.. and the dealers (that's another line of thought).. As far as Erics' thing for Goddesses.. Uh.. you bring the girl, I'll bring the camera and a few props(ok, they're all real) and we'll see how 'Goddess' we can make her look by combining some simple joys.. I didn't mean to start anything with the CC Riders thing it was just something that I noticed when I was looking at all the art work. I was poking around the group sites for ideas. However as I understand it Rainman and I are the only two in our area. Roanoke is down the road over an hour and I don't think Richmond has much either. As far as the seal goes I think as long as you are not trying to be letter perfect with it you will be OK. Try putting it into the top right hand corner of the wing closest to the viewer and color the wing blue. Leave the top of the back wing red with the stars for D.C. | ||

Hey, the right kind of riot can be .. Uh.. a riot!  As far as names and logos.. not starting anything, we're all about discussing stuff when we're not riding.. I was just pointing out a few thoughts about trying to change up stuff that's kind of 'in process'.. If all the folks that have voted decide to 're-vote' then I've got no problems with it personally. I guess it's fair to say that we've already started contacting dealers about 'the club' and changing stuff up on them (at least in the first few weeks after initial contact) might make us seem kind of.. uh.. flighty, or some such. But then again.. Hmmmmm... | ||

Well, dunno about flighty, but since the membership requirements mainly consists of 2 things: own a buell, and an address in the area. You can expect some weird times. And besides, how many dealers really help us out that much? Then again, maybe it's just me and my crappy attitude? And I always though I was the NICE guy!?! On another note; I looked on Buell.com for CABO, found it under VA. Thought each state could only have one club per...? And that makes 2 for VA with the Hampton Roads guys. I guess this is my point: if VA already has a club, why not just make it the MD/DC club? And then just tell everyone that VA is ok too and they can still come ride. I don't know. I just like this place (BadWeb, not MD) and I just think about stuff way too much. | ||

Gee Ras, Do we want to send out invitations already? We have'nt even set a date yet! I just checked the weather for the weekend and the forcast is: Sat-Cold & Clear = I'll be riding. Sun-Not as Cold & Still Clear = I'll be riding. I'll be out and about without a destination. I think my plan is to add more exhaust gasses to the atmosphere to accelerate the "green house" effect so that I have more warm weather to ride in. Theres no reason why I could'nt point my trusty steed towards Fredrick and you can show me the "circuit". If its as twisty as you boast, it'll be a good day. | ||

"The Circuit" is in VA.. A little over 30 some miles from Frederick (depending on which route you take).. I too may be out riding this weekend.. at least I hope to get out at least one day. | ||

Found the "circuit" on a map and it looks pretty good. As chance would have it, I was almost there on sunday. Went as far as Mt. Vernon before turning around to head back home. But now that I know right where it is, I can make a beeline for it next time. Might be busy this weekend, but the one after that, I'll be there. Weather permitting of course. Anyone wanna go with me? | ||

Hmmm.. I'd love too.. but on the 16th I'm at VIR.. So I have to be on the road Saturday the 15th and can't join you then, or I'd give you a 'guided tour'.. If however this weekend works out, I may be available. I have a few things to get worked out but that will probably be Saturday (when they're calling for all that rain).. Just remember, most of these roads are residential in nature so the chance of a cage pulling out from a driveway is always there (a little more adventure added into the run). | ||

This thread got compeletly out of control. I'm gonna do some sketches and see what I can do to bring Va back in the fold again. Since I'm a photoshop noob, my stuff will probably be scanned copies of stuff I scratch down on paper. Know what makes a pencil and paper better than a computer program? You don't have to take a class or read the HELP file to use a pencil. | ||

After some thought, and I know this is like kicking a dead cat, but I think the name Capitol Area Buell Owners leaves one to question....Which Capital? Could we use a rider in the center with the bay on one side and the pegasus on the other? Just some odd ramblings. | ||
