Thanks for the info folks, I've ordered some rear bearings and hope to have them installed later next week, until then it looks like I'll be on the KTM. Jlnance thanks for the part #'s. As far as Buell's responsibility, Customer Service said it wasn't their problem.

I have the bearing tool if y'all get stuck, You will need to use a press to get them out w/ this tool. There are other styles that pull them out much like a slide hammer.

Installing is easy as I use a socket and tap them in.

Was going through my pictures folder, found these old ones that I don't remember posting. These may even be "pre-C3" days before we had picked a name, just a BRAG group meeting at Sheltons:

I see a Uly. That dates them near the end of 05.

I was going to try to date the picture that way. I had my old tank bag, which means this pic is before Fall '06. Carlos had a fresh D616 on the rear of his Uly, he could probably tell you about when that was installed. Then I realized I could just right-click on the original picture and look at the date created.

It was from March '06. : )

Great pics and a fun ride down Devil's Racetrack. They have repaved the road since that ride. Real sweet ride from Goldsboro to Smithfield. We were C3 by then. March is about right. I know it was early Spring of '06 because I had the trunk on the bike. I bought the bike 10-01-05 but did not have the bags on the bike until later. When I did get the bags, originally I did not put the trunk on the bike. When I went down on ice in late November '05, I only had the side bags on. Here is a picture about a year earlier.

Ulywife and I get to ride tomorrow. Looks like we are going to Michael's tomorrow. We will probably be their in the late morning. I guess it will be more a brunch ride then probably take the fun route to Ray Price. What is everyone else doing?

I will see the ya'll at Michaels. I am not sure what I will do after, but it will be good to see ya'll.

I also wanted to let everyone know I added a posting to the Sportbike Appreciation thread. It gives you the chance to preregister for doorprizes and to get some coupons to use on that day.

I'll try and remember to bring some C3 beer huggies. What time do you think you'll be there Mike?

I'm riding to breakfast at the Ellerbe Inn in Ellerbe tomorrow.

www.ellerbesprings.com

I just don't get the Michael's thing anymore since Michaels' closed and it's really just hanging around in a parking lot. I'd like to get more folks coming to the Inn on Sunday mornings. There's a group that's been going there for years, sometime bigger, sometimes smaller, sometimes none at all but it's a great place with a great breakfast in the middle of fantastic roads. I could see it developing into a great regular meeting spot for bikes. There's also a very nice MX track about a mile away that's very entertaining to watch when their running.

If anybody wants to join us let me know.

Nice warm rain to ride in today, tooled around on the HP2 trying to wash off some of the caked on dirt from the last dirt outing. If it's sunny tomorrow, I'm on the 'Bolt.

Rubberdown - Ellerbe is just too far for us. I didn't realize that Michael's was closed. Hell for that matter, we could all meet somewhere in Raleigh or Smithfield for breakfast and ride a bit.

Maybe we should set Elerbee for a "special" occasion. The new interstate opened which bypasses Elerbe and I think the Inn has seen a big drop in Sunday customers so I'm a little worried about their continued solvency. I'm going to talk to them about promoting some bike attractions as it's a terrific riding area.

I like Michael's and I've got some great back roads there as well. There's sure more folks in the Michaels area to get a crowd together. Man, those new owners just need to open the place up!!! I'm looking forward to seeing ya'll again at Ray Price SBA day.

There is Mexican place that has started serving american breakfast and coffee in the same shopping center that Michaels is in. If ya'll decide on something else, give me a call, I will be away from BadWeb.

Jim,

I posted at advrider, but in case you didn't see it, my in-laws used to live about 5 miles from Michaels, at the end of the road opposite the shopping center. I was up there on my S3 a couple of years ago with my wife visiting her family in Chapel Hill and stumbled onto the meet at Michaels on Sunday morning. I met one other Buell rider, a young guy on an S1 or S2.

I've been up there on the Uly a couple of times but haven't made it back to Michaels. Rubberdown, I need you to show me some of the good roads up there some time. I've found some by accident (I should have after visiting the area for 27 years!) but I'd love to find some more.

Hey U4, just got back from the store with cigs. Pulled in behind a early 90's Honda hatchback. NC plate reads U4E-AHH. No shit! Wanted to talk to the dude, but a young cop was hanging around.

Jim N - looks like the weather forecast SUCKS for tomorrow. If we get up and it's clear, we'll head out, if not, we'll post and go back to bed.

If we don't go early, we'll call you to pick a meeting time/place to get TJ's glasses to you.

Pics, pics and more pics. These are of more recent history.

MBV 1

Oddly, I have a picture of the odometer of every bike I've ever owned at the 1313 mile mark. This is just the latest in the series.

MBV 2

One for Jim (Nance).

MBV 3

Okay, two...
On the way to Suches I stopped at Thunder Tower H-D/Buell. Amazingly there Buells are the first thing you see when you come in the door. Didn't have ANY Buell clothing/gear or accessories however.

MBV 1125R Red

They did have a couple of custom painted 1125R's (and one stock) on the showroom floor. Even though their lighting sucked for camera use I managed to get these.

MBV 1125R Red 2

MBV 1125R two tone 1

MBV 1125R two tone 2

Waiting on Bondo Billy's garage to do the handlebar swap.

MBV 4

To me, this is the way the XT should have been from the factory. Puts the SPORT back in SPORT touring. Nice sporting riding position!

MBV CityX bars

The full res version of the pic below looks a little bit cooler - you can see the rain falling with a little more clarity.

1313,

I go by Thundertower about once a month. Last time I was there, they had some Buell T-shirts, but there were only 3 or 4 and they were near the back of the store buried in the Harley stuff. At least the salesperson knew they had them and directed us to where they were. Shortly after they first opened they had a separate Buell clothing rack, but it didn't last long.

1313 - Thanks for the sparkplug shot. Was that on the way to MBV?
