Hey All...Is anyone from Brew City going to Racine to meet with the "Visiting Firemen" on Tuesday evening? I will be taking the car and have space for a passenger if anyone is interested. The group is meeting at the hotel at 8:00PM and headed to the Boiler Room around 8:30.

MikeJ...kindly confirm what time are we supposed to be at Hal's for breakfast set-up on Wednesday and BattleTrax on Saturday? My notes from the last meeting show around 7:00 AM on Wednesday and 8:00 AM on Saturday.

Taking the car?? Supposed to be a beautiful night. Course I only have a 15 minute ride.

Wednesday at 7 am sounds a might bit early, hell Kirk said all there was to do was set up a couple tables & throw boxes of donuts down. Besides if its like usual folks wont even be sitting, they will all be wandering around the bikes.

1 other thing. I find it humorous that all of the pro buell & anti Harley folks have suddenly taken a big interest in the Harley 100th & associated parties.

Course Mike is straddling the fence & trying to justify buying himself that Harley we all know he deeply desires...Hmm closet HOG man there.:D

Bill, dump the X1 & get the Road King. Ya live in Milwaukee for gods sake, its a law that you must own one.

PS..CJ, ya find a dealer to dump that Blast at yet & get yourself the Sportster?

I'll be headed to Racine Tuesday night Bill. I'll probably go seperate, because I will have to take off a bit earlier. We are dog-sitting for some friends and I don't want to leave the pooch all by himself for too long. Thanks for the offer though. (Unless you are going to leave about 10p.m. or so)

Times for Brew City.

Wednesday moring for the 20th: ~7:30a.m.
Saturday morning for Battletrax: ~8:00a.m

Roadking??? Yep, that is one of my choices, but the X1 stays until HD makes a model that can take the twisties at at spirited pace!

Jerry...Thanks for the info concerning the times.

Can't predict what time I will be leaving Racine as we plan on going over the tour route and making plans for the idle hours during the week. Best we go separately.

Ciao

Not me!!! Couldn't pay me to ride my Buell down there in that zoo... I will be crossing the Smokies coming back up that weekend and you might see me wave from Madison Sunday night because that is as close to the clusterflock as I wanna get!!!

Who wants a little wager on how many riders get killed that weekend? My guess is 4...

Im betting more than 4. Previous years we have had 3-4 & I expect traffic to be a lot worse & more idiots drinking & riding.

With all the HD and Community sponsored events, this will be one heck of a celebration and I am looking forward to it.

My itinerary is booked solid from Aug 19th through Aug 30th with exciting places and things to go, see and do. Just glad I have the time to enjoy both the Buell 20th and HD 100th.

Just pray the number of KIA's and WIA's is ZERO.

If anybody would like to ride down to Racine with me on Tuesday, let me know. I'll probably leave the Milwaukee area about 6:30-7:00ish. I'll probably just super-slab it in the interest of time.

Who's planning on participating in the Battletrax events? CJ you gotta give it at least a couple of laps?(Be careful though. Once you try it, it can be addicting)

You know me Blastin, I'll do sign up or something but I'm probably not gonna run laps or whatever it is you do !! Let me know if you guys need any help, and I'll cheer ya on for sure !!

How many are going?

No one really knows how many will be there, but the guesses have been anywhere from 64 to 150 ??? If your interested in meeting a lot of the folks that post here, like newfie, Char, Spidey, jprovo, Court etc. the list goes on and on, then it's the perfect time for you to do so !! A lot of us from BCB will be there !

Uhem, straddling the fence? That 'twould/could hurt things, best to use the gate, or take the fence down altogether. ;)

Bill,
See Jerry's official times. I just ride and show up sometimes, nothing official, don't even have a badge or nothin' ('cept for a set of handcuffs that I got for a class once).

CJ,
You really really should ride around the B-Trax course a few times. Reason one: it's fun, and you only ride at your own pace and comfort level. Reason two: it's good experience for the occaisional parking lot avoidance maneuver when flip-flopping between the Lexus and Hummer bumpers and the 5 year old boy pushing the shopping cart. Reason three: it's fun. Reason four: there are not enough women doing it, and it's not something that only/mostly men should do. Reason five: it's fun. Even if you just do a few laps during the practice time. But hey, no pressure here (not much anyway), participation in any capacity is good.

Joe,
Don't know where you work or where you're located, but you could probably do the core of the Wednesday stuff with just a half-day off work. Show up at Hal's by 10:30am at the latest, ride with the group to East Troy which will arrive by 11:30am-Noon (depending on multiple factors such as group size, primary route taken, speed, escort, traffic, whatnot), hang around the Buell factory until 1:00pm or so. Depending on where you work a half-day off is workable. Or take the whole day off, come early and eat a doughnut, then ride late with some locals and out-of-towners.

Dyna,
Court has a tendancy to show up at various functions with little or no notice depending on other committments and such. I'd suggest that if he can make it he will. Or not.

Charlotte,
Ride safe, have fun, come back with as many parts as you left with. And check your oil at least once a day. And drink lots of water 'cause wind dehydrates you like a prune. And I'll stop now before I start sounding like mom or dad. ;) Have a great ride.

My prediction for the following week:
Sadly several fatalities.
Sadly several stolen bikes.
Sadly several arrests.
Happily much fun by many for the 99+% who are not involved or included in the three sadlys.

I'm already starting to see some early arrivals in the area. And the local news is starting to get really lit up about it. And many/several hotels rooms are suddenly becomming available, and many/several house rentals are starting to drop their prices.

Regardless, the next few days this week should be fun and interesting. And from now to the end of the month should be fun and interesting as well.

And for the record, good communication could save a whole lot of hassles. Apart from some other issues recently the trip to Detroit yesterday could have been avoided with a little clearer communication and understanding. But life goes on. And no bloody noses, so far.
