Anybody know anything about the Glendale Cruise Night this Saturday around 5:30 PM at Brand and Wilson Streets in Glendale? Who's sponsoring, who's allowed to show/cruise, cost? Sounds like a block party that'll probably have street rods, cruisers & surf music by Jan and Dean, and The Torquays. Torquays -- what a great name for a band if they rode Buells! All the info I have on it.

I'd like to bring my Manx. Jprovo, you've got a Mini, right?

Sparky,

Unfortunately, no, I don't have a Mini anymore. I begrudgingly sold mine so I could afford my house.

Slaughter, It's an original Meyers Manx SR with a 110 horse 'Vair, sorta like the one in the link only orange. People either laugh or stare in awe at it.

Jprovo, Bummer on the Mini. Cool on the house, though.

Anybody wanna show up Saturday afternoon? At least for the music at 5:30?

Found the Cruise Night info. Not sure about it being the largest, but 400 hot rods, custom, classic and restored cars and trucks is a lot. Make that 401 with my post-entry. Sounds like a party. Y'all come now, heah!

Sparky,

I thought you were talking Norton Manx! (sorry about that)

Jim_SB,
"Riding like bats outta hell" (OOPS) - I guess maybe I am trying to paint too unrealistic a picture... no sense misrepresenting things too badly!

Ebear,
Just a big thanks for the Fan Lap! Only two things were missing - one of which was not having you out there to play with us! NEXT year!

Slaughter, so does that mean you no love me no mo?!! LOL.

I knew it was gonna be a great day when Saro & Lolly greeted us (Jen & I) at the entrance! It was rather hot & muggy so we began a quest to find a Coldstone IC shop. Lolly came through like a champ & found one down the street. Thanks, Lolly.

There was a stock '65 Corvair parked on one side and a fabuluous red flair-fendered Pantera sporting mag wheels and wing spoiler on my left. Prolly the best looking most exotic car there, IMHO. I later saw George Barris checking it out real carefully. He glanced at the Manx briefly, scratched his head and wandered off. I guess I'll never know if it stumped him or if he was just scratching an itch.

Cool cars, good friends & surf music too -- I was totally blissed out!

Ebear,
Great pics! That view from the porch was indeed perfect - very cool place Jerry has. Hey, not used to riding on the back and the lap ride with Ferris was fantastical but the only thing missing? Me own red bike. (big sigh). :) NEXT year!

Bad news for our Cyclone riding main man Buell POC (Point of Contact) at Bartels' HD/B. Steve Bl. was involved in an accident recently and won't be at work in the Service Dept for a while.

But maybe we could leave him a voicemail message to cheer him up when he comes back in? His number is 310-823-1112 ext 239. If he doesn't answer, ask to leave a voicemail with an upbeat message like, "Keep the shiny side up", or "Let's go riding soon", or ... well, you'll know what to say.

Next SCAB meeting is NEXT week, next August 7th to be exact. We meet at the Press Box Sports Bar and Grill at 7:00 PM. The bar is located just east of the 91/57 interchange at the Glassell/Kramer offramp next to the Embassy Suites Hotel.

AND Now, for the BIG NEWS! Our one and only Jerry Johnson, has a new job at a BUELL and HD dealer. Many may have known that Jerry, after many years, last June departed Oceanside Harleys House of Harleys/Buell. But, you just can't keep the motorcycle bug out of Jerry. He is now working at Quaid's Temecula Harley Davidson/Buell. You may reach him at 909-587-2360 should you need a Buell or Buell information. Jerry has some big plans for Quaid, including keeping our rides going from a dealer even closer to Palamar mountain than before! Thanks Jerry! It wouldn't seem the same without you at a dealer.

And speaking of Jerry, thanks to him and the "Love Shack" for another great time at Laguna Seca! Many Buellers from the LA and BAY area stopped by to visit. We met some new Buellers too. Buell had the test rides, and BRAG was set up as well. Not the same without Leslie though. I rode the Lightening not once but three times! It is an awsome bike.

Hope to see many at the Sport Bar! One week to next Thursday. And congrats again to Jerry Johnson!

Well, remember me telling you about live surf music at Baja Cantina on Wednesday nights? And free bike parking and stuff like that? Remember? Awesome, wasn't it? No wait, you weren't there. Bummer! You missed seeing Jen win a cool 9 ft surfboard at the monthly raffle. I was stunned -- she was so stoked!

This Sat 8/9 The Surfaris and The Cadillac Angels play California HD/B (Harbor City)'s Biker Beach Party. Ask Steveb to show you the new XB12S (black/amber) & Blast (red/amber) if they're still there.

I meant to post this sooner, though Scott Page already posted something.

Santa Maria Harley Buell ROCKS!! When I broke my throttle cable on the way up to Laguna Seca, they pulled one off their show room S3T, and sold it to me for the cost of the part only, no service charge for removing it. BTW, they are selling that S3T for a very low price of 9K out the door, or something very close to that. They are also selling their XB9's at very good prices too. I got a few Buell Tshirts from their clearance rack for only $5.50 each, and they had the $139 Buell pullover fleeces for a mere $39. The sales manager, Curtis Treadaway, and the GM, Ed Alvarez, were very cool.

Us Socal Buell owners are blessed to have so many cool Buell dealers nearby, when you consider the horror stories you hear from the rest of the country.

Geting that throttle cable from Curtis let me ride with the pack up through Big Sur, which was phenomenal, insteadof having to limp up 101 all the way to Monterey. Normally, the coast route is likely to fogged in/cloudy and it can be RV no-passing hell. But that day, it was sunny, and they had a few construction traffic breaks. That let us go to the front and have many miles of NO traffic in front of us. Too cool.
