When my folks are on vacation my Dad likes to go to the same place every time. "I liked it last time. Why should I try something different at my age?" he says.
Border Raid needs hotel bookings to be made at Whistler for Saturday night and Penticton (one hour north of Osyoos on one of the best roads in the province.) We're looking for input, comments, and commitments(?)here:http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/13804.html?1060375853

Shotgun, first: congratulations on your anniversary. WOW, 33 yrs! Chris and I will celebrate our 10 yr annv the 21st of this month. Second: you did luck out with the doc and no cast huh? I am glad for you. Are you going on Border Raid?
Kikola, my first bike was a Harley Sportster. Put 15,000 miles on it in 3 1/2 years. I really wanted to try the SV so bought the one I have now and really miss the Harley so want to go back to riding whats comfortable to me. I like the SV alot, great bike, lots of power, and fun to ride. I just might keep it and switch off and on with the Harley. Time will tell.

Well, it looks like I MAY be riding my hot-rod Buell on BordeRaid after all. God I hope so! I'll finish pulling her tranny 'box' out tomorrow, and if nothing is fractured, I's good to go. After the primary chain I had to order gets here anyway...

Kikola, it won't be long befor you'll have a couple bikes. Living in such close proximity to the center of the BOB-universe, motorcycles literally rain out of the sky onto the tarmac there, a true black-hole gravitational effect of unpresidented, and undocumented proportions! Honest!
So, ah
sooner, Galen

Well its Saturday and the Rain....It Come!.

It looks as if were in a motorcycle Slack Tide with nothing really happening. Thundercross in Tigard on the 16th and 17th should get the Mototide moving in a workwize direction toward ....."The Border Raid!!"

We need to keep our noses to the grind stone and find a Scoot for Kikola.
I'll put somthing out there on the mighty Borg also. Debbie and I are heading for Mike and Kim's in Portland next Saturday too watch Cody Race on Sunday. Cody of Code Red Racing sure could use some fans surrounding him in a show of support!!.

Hint, Hint!, It's only Portland er Muck -Minn- Ville.

In The Rain Forest, Bob

Bob, I 100% agree that Cody needs some fans out at the race track. Now set me straight here OK, Aug 16 and 17th is the Thundercross in Beaverton, and then Aug 23 and 24th is Cody racing out at PIR, and then Aug 30, 31 and Sept 1 is Border Raid!

Hope Deb is feeling better today. Tell her to take it easy!

Cody is racing in McMinville again next weekend on the 17th. Bob & Deb are going to come down for that and stay Saturday (maybe Friday too?) night at our place. We are planning a bar-b-que so whoever will be coming for that please post and let me know so we have enough grub! I will post the details later, but it will be after the Thundercross on Saturday night so all can stand around and tell good story about near record times! Seating is limited but food will be a plenty! Loni - Chris are you coming? Steve? Spudman?

Props to Mike for assisting in getting the wheels off my ST. We discovered some hump on steroids must have put the rear wheel on, as it took a special trip to buy a 1 13/16" socket, reducer, and borrowed extender bar from my dad (with me standing on the extender) to break loose the rear nut. The rest was a breeze. Brand spankin' new D208 ZR's ready to rock. I hadn't noticed until I had them at the shop, but the rear was down to the threads in a couple of spaces!

Kim, what time is Code Red racing Sunday the 17th?

Sunset Thunder Club normally rides the 3rd Sunday of the month and maybe we could plan our ride around McMinneyMouseVille. Or back around Buell, Oregon. There is a little road down there with fresh grippy pavement that Spud and I call the "Best 5 Mile-long Driveway in Oregon". Curvy, deserted and sticky sweet.
Let me know, Spud will probably put out a newsletter this week.

Steve practice starts at 9am and continues until lunch around 11:30. After the karts qualify we run a heat race then a final. I'm guessing the final is around 3:30pm.. I hope this helps and we can always use a cheering section. Mike

Well, well... go away for a coupla weeks and everything changes! Sounds like a big ass truck you got there Buellnuts. Let's go 4 wheelin'! Already did that up in the Cariboo, to my folks cabin. Was great. I keep wondering how to get the bikes in there. Would be a great holiday to have everyone come up but alas - it's waaaaaay in the sticks! Had ourselves on alert for the wildfires in the area. So far the place is still standing (whew!) Got lots of smoke from the many fires burning in the area - cough, cough. All I can say is cigarettes suck! Cuz that's what caused the most serious one!
Anyhow... Nicole! Good to see you on the web. I notice no one suggested a Blast, but hey, it works for me! Apparently you can buy last year's model for practically a song on your side of da borda. I'm only 5'2" as well, and NOT willing to go to anything else with this trick knee of mine.
Hurry up... get a bike... get some practice, then come up for Border Raid!
So who's booked for Penticton?? Come over to the Canadian message thread and give us details. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/13804.html?1025970462
Ride on,
Lo

Lo

Glad you got out of the forest fires without ash ass. How are things up there? I'm in Ontario for the moment and as you can imagine the 'centre of the universe' has little news about our fires.

>NOT willing to go to anything else with this trick knee of mine<

What you talkin about. Whats up with the knee?

Like that ever stopped you from hangin it out!

New plan for the Penticton hotel. Best Western now. What say you, Bob? Deb? Duane? Lisa? Eric? Galen? We've seen the long route for SPLASH. And enjoyed every turn! Will you let us show you our equivalent. Can you handle an extra hour of going home time on the Monday? (Penticton being an hour north of Osoyoos.) It would be well worth it!

I think nobody is committing - that's what I think Eric! Oh well, us CAD's will have a good time anyhow.
Jim, hope you're doing okay I understand you're "back east" under not so nice circumstances.
As for my trick knee - it's just a torn ligament thing - few years ago now. Just need to have my feet firmly planted on the ground, can't ride a bike I'm tip-toed on just in case the knee decides to pack it in! S'okay, I've learned to be cautious in my er... smarter years.

Roadrash - glad to see you're out and about! Don's bike is doing fine and didn't need the extreme fixes we'd thought - thanks for calling and checking into it for us back then. Are you coming up for BorderRaid?
