Author Message   Hughlysses Posted on Thursday, February 28, 2008 - 09:02 am:        Nick, No worries about RIDING in the cold, just make sure you've got good sleeping bags, etc. for sleeping. I know a few guys from NC that were pretty miserable at MBII when they had to camp out Sunday night and temps dropped to sub-freezing with a stiff wind. Fortunately I was snug in my cheap motel room in Dahlonega that night! Glad to hear your wife likes the twisties; she'll definitely enjoy her drive in N GA. ~29 days and counting....   Ulywife Posted on Thursday, February 28, 2008 - 09:09 am:        Nick, if your wife drives, she will be in serious twisties starting about 15 miles east of Suches on highway 60. Make sure she's OK with that kind of driving. Hugh isn't kidding about the roads. My first time driving them was also my first trailering experience. I was real proud of myself until I hit 60...then came the OMG....breathe...stay in my lane....breathe...stay in my lane. Remind her that when safe and possible, pull right and let the bikes pass. Im looking for a select seat for it now. I was really surprised to see another buell around, its pretty rare. I need to know the location of the cabin. A friend of mine may meet us there on his Hardley Abelson. The engine in my truck sh*t the bed in Florida this weekend and I had to have it towed back to Charleston. That was a fun ride. So I could not tow my bike anywhere even if I wanted to. Hugh directed me to this forum from the Ulysses forum. Just picked up a black,'08 Ulysses after riding Beemers for the last 14 years. I live in Summerville and most of riding has been trips to the mountains or across country to rallies, camping along the way. My next one is probably to T.W.O. during the N. Ga. Mtn. I plan on taking half a day that Friday So I'll be ready after noon. Question anybody buy or use an electric pressure washer? I was thinking about getting one for a hundred bucks, clean my deck and my house (and bike) with it. think it'll be worth it?   Hughlysses Posted on Sunday, March 09, 2008 - 02:43 pm:        Nick, I'm figuring on leaving here fairly early Friday morning so meeting around noon in the Aiken area should work out OK for us. I think Matt's planning on taking the whole day off too. I'm sure you know Aiken better than I do. We could just do something like meet at the first rest area in Georgia off of I-20. That's a good breaking place on the trip from here. Or maybe you know of a good place we could meet for lunch around Aiken. We probably need to leave Aiken as early as you can manage. It's a pretty long haul up to T.W.O. and you don't want to be riding those twisties for the first time in the dark. I don't have much experience with power washers, but if you use one on your bike, be careful around the wheel bearings. I'm about to get a new set of Pirelli Scorpion Syncs for my Uly. Charlie had sold me on the idea of going to Cycle Gear, but when I couldn't get anyone to wait on me there last week I'm having second thoughts. Ron Ayers is having a sale right now and I've always had good luck ordering stuff from them. I've changed tires with tire irons before but that was a royal PITA when I did it on the rear tire on my Uly last time. Maybe I just need to go ahead and buy my own tire changer at Harbor Freight.   Nevrenuf Posted on Monday, March 10, 2008 - 10:04 pm:        drfudd, the electric ones are what they are. there inexspensive and aren't that powerful but they used one on the tampa train station when they were retucking the grout on the red brick and it held up with constant use. my son borrowed his girlfriends to use it on the house and it did a decent job. if that's all you want to spend on one then get it and don't expect anything great.
