Welcome Shannon. Anyone and everyone is welcome to our Saturday ride.

Everyone ride at their own pace and we aim to just have a good time as well as learn from each other.

My first Buell ride was only 4 months after owning my Buell and seven months of total bike experience.

Crazy Ba$tards!

Welcome Shannon! We hope to see you any Saturday AM! Don't worry about being a beginner, we all start somewhere. I "started" on a Blast a few yeats ago and still have it. Anytime you're with a "good" group of riders the more advanced will be more than willing to hang back and give you advice. (Provided you ask for it, I try not to coach unless asked, but I often fail at this) If they push you to go faster than you're comfortable with, quit riding with them. We promise not to do that!

On another note... Finally got Sabrina on the Blast today, and as the name suggests, she had a blast. I expect she'll join us on a saturday AM ride before too long. Time to call Latus and get her in the MSF class...

Surgery tomorrow at 2 pm. I'm getting a gusset plate with Ti screws. I spoke with the surgeon today, and considering my lifestyle and occupation, they are going to put me in a removable splint for 10 days post surgery, then right into rehab. They don't want to hard cast it with the plate, they said that it would be too restrictive and cause stiffness. I'm getting the repair work done at Meridan Park in Tualitin, great place, great people. I'll be part $10,000.00 man!

All the best, and thanks for all well wishes,

I'll be baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccchh!!

Kenny

Thanks for such a nice welcome! I'll definitely have to join you guys for one of your Saturday rides pretty soon. Riding with more advanced riders has been really helpful to me so far. I get to learn from watching, asking and pushing myself just a little more than I probably would on my own.

I've gotta say, those snow pictures are crazy! But pretty awesome too. : ) I still get nervous driving on gravel roads so I think snow is a long way off for me.

How long are the Saturday rides? With the recent temp I've been keeping my rides pretty short. Mainly because I need better gloves...my fingers tend to get cold.

Shannon,

Glad you found us on the web. Can't wait to ride with another Bueller! Don't worry, snow rides aren't the usual around here. Just be careful if you are headed north with a big swede : )

Shannon,
Our Saturday rides this time of year start a bit later, usually meeting for a cheap breakfast about 9 AM. I'm usually home in the early afternoon. In the summer, we meet at 7 AM and plan longer rides. Check the "Saturday Rides" thread (top of the page) We're starting to post what we want to do week by week, to include routes and duration, tasking into account the weather report. (Showers this saturday )

For Gloves.. A few of us have the Alpinestar Drystar ST-1's A great glove for Portland spring and fall. Cheap too! www.newenough.com is a good place for internet order on gear...

Welcome to the board Shannon, here's to gaining experience at your own pace.

Kenny, looks like you nudged out my $7,000 finger. My $7,000 was well worth it though, because it wouldn't look right to flip off with a different digit.

Yikes! Those are some nice sized dr. bills. I've only gone down once and luckily it wasn't too bad. I think I fractured a bone in my foot but that's all. I was on my way to work at the time (cocktail waitress) and refused to go home because many of the guys there rode bikes and I didn't want them giving me a hard time. : ) I figured it would be better once the swelling went down. Boy was I wrong! It took a couple months or more. Luckily the bike was fine beyond a bent peg and broken plastic over the blinker.

I'll have to go check out that site for gloves. I need bags for my bike too. That was one thing I lacked last summer, adequate storage space since I was riding all the time and neglecting my car.

Kenny had surgery late Tuesday evening and is recovering well, although he can't type just yet. The doc came out and commented to me that the muscle structure in his arm was amazing, and that all went well. The pieces are all back together, and he's returning for an appt next Tuesday after which the physical therapy should start. Looks like about 6 weeks in a removable brace so he can start movement. Thanks for all your well wishes.

Thanks for the update Lanie!

Can we come over an hold a team meeting at your house so we can do Kenny's chores for him? We're talking about scheduling one in the near future, and I'll bet he's using his hand as an excuse to keep form cutting the grass! I for one am willing to "Give Back" a little to a fellow PBR member...

Glad to hear everything went well. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Tell you what, while Mark is sweeping and Paul is mowing the yard I wouldn't mind taking the Duc out. Wouldn't want the battery to run low on you.

I was over at the dealership today, there's a couple of 1125R's in. I can't wrap my cast around the throttle yet, but just getting on the bike felt great!

I'm feelin pretty good overall, pain is in remission, I'm hoping the swelling starts to recede soon. Doctor's appointment tues am, I'm really looking forward to getting re hab going, I have all finger and thumb movement, and hoping he give's me a squeezy thing.

Lane took me down to Woodburn today, I got my 2008 racing number, Lucky 13!!

If you guys are planning to ride out in my direction, you all invited to stop over. Thanks again for all the well wishes, they help more than you know.

Kenny

P.S. I wrote this!

Hey guys,
I did it, I joined the Army Reserve yesterday. I'm now officially Pvt. Jeremy Williams. With $80k toward college, plus I get to do some cool stuff. The only problem I realized today is that I signed on leap day for a 6 year contract, since leap day only comes around once every 4 years, I just signed a 24 year contract! Man, I got suckered, didn't I?

How well did you score on that test again? J/K. Have you talked to Scott lately?

my recruiter was disappointed with my score, he wanted me to take it again, but we decided that the 96th percentile was tolerable.

No, haven't talked with Scott for a few days, will call him tomorrow.

You laugh, but the Army will probably try their best to stick you on the 24 year deal. Good luck man: )
