East gate has two of everything, 2007 models, marked down (XB12 Firebolt $8999/Ulysses $9999/XB12STT $8999).

I was just at Eastgate on Thursday and fairly certain the two Ulysses on the floor were '06, one black, one orange. I'll probably end up getting an '07 or an '08 simply because the Buell financing promo going on right now applies to the '07 and '08 models. Just waiting on the accounts payable division (the wife) to give the go ahead.

I've been waiting for years to get my bike, and since I'll be graduating in June, this will be my graduation gift to myself.

Will keep you all informed.

Keep the rubber side down.

Best of luck on your search and upcoming graduation! Nice to see that there is a growing number of Buell owners in and around Cincy. We'll have to drop a line on this thread before our next road trip north.

I'm riding Sunday. Anyone want to meet at Quaker Steak & Lube at 12:00? Should be nice and warm by then.

Where's the best place in Cincy area for ATGATT? Really looking for full or 3/4 length textile jackets and pants and sport touring boots. Similar to the gear seen in most the photos on ADVRIDER. Best selection, prices, etc...

I've been to Shipps and they have a couple jackets and pants. Cycle Specialties seems to have the most choices for jackets, pants, gloves, and helmets. I haven't really seen any place with anything other than MX boots, or cruiser boots.

Thanks in advance

That's an easy one: Sport Tour on Reading Road near Evendale. They've got a showroom with a big selection so you can try stuff on. They've ordered stuff on line for me as well, and their prices are usually at least 10% lower than what you'll see on line.

11386 Reading Rd., Sharonville, OH 45241

It's a little tricky to find because they are on an old part of Reading Rd. that splits off over some RRX.

Geobiker,

What time are you going over? Are you riding?

I know right where you are talking about... used to be a hole in the wall custom builder there... I'll check them out.

The guy that ran Northwest Cycle there in Sharonville was a friend of mine that I have not talked to in a while... wonder if thats his shop, I noticed his previous one is now gone.

Got some tires there, www.sporttour.com, great place. It's just south of an A&W like hot dog stand on Reading.

Sorry Rasta,

I didn't read the boards till now. I swung by there around 1 or so this afternoon. I did not ride as I am bikeless. I was mainly looking for a place with knowledgeable staff to help me pick the right gear. I'm starting out as a noob.

Hope to have me a Uly here in a few months.

In comparison to the other bike shops around town, it blows them all out of the water as far as selection for sport touring gear, IMHO.

The only other place that comes close to it is Cycle Specialties, but they don't have any ST boots there, and all their gear just seems to be thrown onto the racks with no real order to it. Seems overcrowded in there. They do have a large selection of helmets though.

I'll be visiting them (Sport Tour)again when it comes time to buy.

Whats that old BMW (not appears to be independent) shop like? Is taht Cycle Specialties? I noticed the BMW logo was gone last time I went by... but forget the name now.

They had nice stuff when they were BMW, but the prices were insane.

Cycle Specialties is on Harrison Pike, off 74.

You're talking about the old BMW place on 747. They pretty much just do service now. Can't remember what their name is now. My uncle knew the guy that owned it when it was BMW. That guy was getting a divorce so he sold the place. The new owners couldn't get BMW North America to let them sell. At least, that's the way I understand it.

Unfortunately, the motorcycle market in Cincinnati is primarily cruisers and sport bikes, so we don't get a whole lot of selection.

Now I remember... Cycle Specialties... used to be a 'prilla dealer.

Not having that BMW dealer leaves a pretty big geographic hole for a BMW rider wanting service... I'm suprised they didn't work something out. Anyone in Cinci with a BMW has a 91 mile drive to the closest service center. And we thought Buell had it bad (two usable and one very good dealer in a 50 mile radius).

Actually, they still do service for BMW at the place on 747. The also do HD, Triumph, and a couple others I think. My uncle has a K1200LT he takes there. As far as sales, they are definitely lacking.

The old BMW store is now Miami Cycles, I think. I'm unsure about that place.

If you like, or have a Beemer, you have to check this place out in Northside. I'll get their information and post it, but I think the owner's name is George, but anyway, his shop is cool. It has restored beemers of all vintages, and I know my pop takes his '87 KR100 there for service.

Got a call from a sales guy at Aces and Eights last night. They have an 06 xb12ss they wanted to sell me at cost. He told $8000 + taxes and title. Since I'm not interested in that model, thought I'd pass that on to you all, maybe you have a friend that wants one.

I went up to Aces and Eights in Mason Ohio yesterday, as I was up that direction anyway. I was riding the 9sx (love those heated grips).

I had my Buell Neck Gaitor coupon all printed out and filled in, you know, the promotion that Buell spent the money to take out a full page add for in this months cycle world? That one.

I walk around the shop for a good 5 minutes, trying to thread my way back to the Buells, where I stand staring at the bikes (not a lot of them, but a good cross section, including an 1125). Nobody says boo to me for a good five minutes... the shop was crowded, but there were lots of sales types sitting around.

So, having seen them fail that test, I go up to the front desk and show them my coupon and ask them about the Buell promo. Whats that? They ask. I explain its a promotion being run off the Buell site, and that all they had to do was pre-order all the neck gaitors, and when they turn in the collected coupons back to Buell you would get fully reimbursed.

"That would be apparel, so that would be our part of the store, but we would never do something like that".

"Yeah" I think to myself, "at this point, its fairly clear to me that you wouldn't".

This is the same place earlier this year where I went in to get rear brake pads for my 9sx... they weren't in stock. Brake pads, a wear item, that fit every XB that existed up to that point. Not a stocked item?

So I order them, and of course they want me to pay up front, before they arrive. I pay for them, and 4 weeks later have still not had a call, so I call them. They had arrived a couple weeks ago (two weeks to get brake pads from the factory?) but nobody felt the need to call the number I left them and let me know.

They are 10 miles from me, I wish they would be good, and would be happy to help them if they want to try and get there... but at this point they just don't even seem to be trying. So I keep driving to Dayton.

Must be good to have so much business you don't have to make an effort. If the "Harley Davidson" phenomenon crashes and burns, I won't be shedding tears for the t-shirts and stickers shops. Nothing wrong with trinkets and trash, but you shouldn't let them get in the way of any motorcycles (even if they are "not real Harleys").

Yeah Reep, as usual F&S did a great job with the gaiters. I went there yesterday and they had them in stock. In fact, they had one of the old skull caps left and gave me one of those too.

I have yet to hear good things about Aces and Eights. I tried to buy an Ultra Classic there once, had some questions. They were supposed to call me back and never did. They had 2 bikes in stock.

Wow, sad to hear. So far they've (Aces/Eights) have been good to me. Though must admit haven't done alot of business with them. If I need something they can't provide I guess I'll run up to Dayton.
My husband is currently having problems with his Katana and our local Susuki dealer seems to be a bunch of morons. Last time (<4 months ago) his bike broke, we just got parts online and repaired the problem ourselves. See the 'General discussion' section for details of said current Katana problem.

One more thing...
What/where is this offer? Could I take advantage? And show up at Aces with the same coupon. Maybe if more of us outsider Buell folk weirdos demand Buell service/support....maybe...someday...they may take us seriously!
Well, one could only hope.

Thats why I went... I honestly didn't expect them to be participating in the promotion... but wanted to let them know there is interest. I do the same thing with parts, I go there first and ask them, and they never have them in stock, so I tell them I will drive to Dayton to get them. It hasn't seem to sink in yet, but if more people do it, things might get better.

Go to http://www.experiencebuell.com/ and print out a voucher... its also linked off the www.buell.com home page.

You might also want to bring this months cycle world magazine with you to show them, Buell took out a full page add promoting the promotion.

They have been reasonably nice folks when I talk to them, they just consistently fail to deliver anything I need. That makes it hard for me to give them my money.

My Yamaha experiences were even worse, for what thats worth. My Kawasaki experiences with Middletown Cycle were up to the "F&S" standards (read: very good) in terms of service, but the old Kawasaki parts were priced in a pretty predatory fashion... I understand making money, but $60 for a rubber tube, and $40 for a gasket? Please!

I think that Middletown dealer is also a zook dealer, so you might try them if you are unhappy with your current local dealer.

Went to Aces and Eights last night, and I had forgot to print the coupon for the gator. On the front door there was a sign advertising the offer!
One of the salespersons ASKED ME if I had gotten my Buell gator (they all know I ride a Buell), I told him nope, forgot to print the paper. He directed me to the store computer, found the website, let me enter my info, printed the offer and got me a gator!
I'm pretty impressed.
