Somebody was asking the Colorado Thunder Club guys about the track in Pueblo, might have been Kim. Here is the link with some info:

http://www.mra-racing.org/index.cfm?action=new_rac er

I have not been down there in 5 or 6 years and have never rode on the track so I cannot talk about the track from experience. I hope the link helps.

Have you nailed down the ride schedule yet?

Hey guys! Wanted to see how the weather has been there recently. I'll be in town this month for work and am wondering if I should rent 4 wheels or 2.
Thanks,

Better rent 4 wheels, it's been an unusually cold winter. Mornings have typically been below freezing in the Albuquerque area.
expecting another snow storm tonight, with more following.
You would do well to have something with a little more than heated grips...

I agree.

I have not firmed it up yet. Yes we worked on it a couple weeks ago, but it needed to be finished because we didn't have the exact dates for the track days, etc. I was going to work on it, but the power supply in my computer popped. I've also been working like crazy lately due to a couple of odd cases at work, including an employee stalking another employee.

I'm hoping to get it posted soon. The soonest group ride isn't until the last week of March anyway, so we have time.

Hope all is well.

For those I could not contact, the new 1125R is on the floor at Thunderbird H-D/Buell. We should have the new XB12XT soon.

Hey Jeremy, good to see ya posting...
Don't let this Santa Fe group beat you up too much. : )

CJ, forgot to mention, there's a blue '03 XB9R basically like your at Tbird for around $4000.
That would make you a good track bike...

Thunderbird? Buell? What an unexpected combination on BADWEB... Actually, its good to see T-Bird engaging with Buell owners again. This hasn't happened since it was Chick's ;)

BTW: I have an '03 XB9R for a little less... and obviously better maintained than the one at T-Bird (I've seen it).

CJ, not trying to rush you just wondering how the schedule is going...

Schedule is going... slowly.

Bart: I was talking to Nick about buying his 9R for a track bike (or a street bike for the boy), but decided that I can't afford one right now. We'll see what the future holds.

Yes on the Blue Mohawk, but now it's black. On a side note I've talked to a guy trying to sell his '99 X1 Lightning. If any one is interested please let me know and I will give you his contact info.

The track dates for SMRI and Arroyo Seco are up on their sites. They have been for quite some time. I was watching and waiting, so I could ask for my vacation time...

Next track weekend is down at Arroyo Seco the weekend after valentine's day.

I now have a working trailer (Thanks Bart!) So if anyone else needed a ride, I have room.

K

Still in the process dude...
Moving another load this weekend, and may just press Kim into service in between her race weekends.
(she's got a BIG truck, AND a trailer!)
Nobody is paying to move my butt anywhere, so I have to do it when I can.

Oh... I guess I was under the impression that your job was transferring you, thus paying for that relo. Didn't realize you were doing it one load at a time. What are you using for 4-wheel transport? I remember that you sold your truck but don't remember you getting anything else. Work truck?

Kim: What kind of trailer do you have now? Open? Enclosed? Something you can camp in like you were talking about?

I picked up a used 6x10 enclosed trailer. I'm still working out how I want to set it up. I just order the bike stand, I found these really cool strapless stands that lock the bike down by the rear axle, so you don't have to compress the suspension.

I'm still looking for some type of storage/shelving to put in it, so I can kinda camp outta it.

I'm definitely in favor of a way to lock bikes down without compressing the suspension.

Send him an email. And ask, there might be one for another bike that will work for yours.

I've seen in other fourms where he will make one if you are willing to take some measurements and take pictures.

Hello, All,

I'm looking for a little guidance here... Since I bought the 05 SCG new in Sept 06 I've been trying to get Thunderbird to look at/fix the dreaded ping -The response has ranged from "bring it back when it's hot" to "you can't adjust timing on a Buell". An impromptu drop-in this last week reveals from the service dept that they don't have the software to perform the timing checks (sidenote:what did I pay for when that was supposed to be checked during service?) My question is: Should I buy the software from American Sport Bike/ECMspy and do it myself, or does Santa Fe have the software and someone who can use it?

Thanx all -

G

You have warranty until Sep 08.
They don't have the software? WTFO? Insist on service...talk to the management... report the issue to Buell.

Another option and my recommendation...go to SFHD for service.

Check with Jmhinkle here on the board.... before you go and buy the software.

Well, this is why many of us don't take our bikes to Chick's/Thunderbird for service. They've always sucked at customer service. I bought mine there in 2003 and have taken it to service in Santa Fe ever since I had that bad experience at the 600 mile break in service.

Definitely take it to SFHD. Talk to Josh in Service and he'll get you squared away. He rides a Buell. They will almost certainly have Scott work on it for you. He rides a Buell. Murrae Haynes is a past Service manager and current Riders Edge manager, he has 419 Buells. I have always had good experiences with them. It's worth the extra miles.

Murrae has 419 buells? Holy crap!
CJ, didn't SF mount one of your tires on backwards?

Thanx all for the response - I wasn't trying to bash the stealership, just looking to get the issue resolved, and I don't want to wait through a hot pinging summer until they get equipped. Looks like another chance to take the back road to Santa Fe - Today would have been perfect!! JMH mentions he HAS the software&cable, though I'd rather not borrow if it works and I can build the cable, as I'm quite electrically inclined. Have any of you had experience with the software? Is it effective or BUGGY...?

Thanx all,

G

Well... I may have exaggerated on the number of Buells that Murrae has. But its still a lot. Of course, I'm pretty sure that Bart has more all by himself than Murrae & Mabel have together. That's why he's the BuellHo!

They did not mount a tire backwards. At my 10K service, the front rotor was warped and caused a wicked front end shimmy. This was discovered after the rear brake failed to work at all. They didn't bleed the line when they hooked it all back up. So, one thing was their fault and one wasn't. But they did fix it and were tireless about dealing with the factory on that issue.

Joel doesn't own his Buell anymore so I would bet he'd let that software and cable go for less than retail. Otherwise it'll just be sitting around his garage doing nothing.

ECMSpy Software is a free download from ecmspy.com and it works amazing. Research the Treadmarks square idle mod for some good idle fixes among other things. I'm not getting rid of my cable because it was my first built and if anyone ever needs help, I'll give it. I have built about 60 of them now and shipped them all over the world to Buellers.

I build the cables for the tiniest of fees. Basically, you only have to pay for the parts and shipping which works out to about $40.
