Oh, Jim! I'm so sorry for you, Tanya, Sabrina, Nikita, Mercedes, Dominic & The Puppy (haven't met the puppy). I know how much y'all love animals -- and Halyn was family. He was a big sweetie and lived a very VERY good life. I bet he's pulling the little bag of doritos trick up in doggie heaven.

Jim,

Sorry,,,these blasted K9's get in our lives and we love them. We end up mourning for them and swearing there will not be another to break our heart (says the guy who spent 12 hours searching the woods for our newest family member.)

Take care,

G2

Thanks for the info. I would love to make it this year. I am still kicking myself for being too busy to realize I missed it until Kristi called me and told me Jim was on the track. He and I talked about going to watch and then I got wrapped up with things at work and forgot about it. Maybe this year I can right the wrong.

I took another crack at polishing the header last night:

I've been doing it the lazy way and using S100 polishing soap. I've used the polishing soap to brighten up things that are already polished, but this is my first attempt at polishing something from scratch with it. This will definitely be the slow method, but the S100 polishing soap is fairly easy to use. You apply it with a wet sponge and rub it in, then rinse it off with a hose. For comparison, this is what my Firebolt header looked like after polishing:

May 19th? Man that sounds good. Probably in esp. if they bring the bikes again.

Jim - No confirmation yet that they will be bring the bikes, but rumor is they will.

I'm signed up already and this will be my first track day. Now that I have way more bike than I do abilities, I need to get serious about improving my skills.

Jim: I know what I'd be asking for! From your smile last year can't see where one could go wrong.
Chris is celebrating 21 + () on May 14th wondering how she would like a track day at VIR? maybe not such a good idea.

Just tried to register but the site must be down.

Spike: does the polished header rust after the S100 treatment especially if you ride in the rain? I like the look and willing to put some time and elbow grease into it after pricing the ceramic coated header. Total for exhaust coating has me gasping for air. $$$ came up a bit more than expected.

1313, you building an XB? Well... are ya? Just wondering.

Hmmm...Buell builds XB's...And their owners modify the XB's...

All I know is:
1. Shelton's first XB12XT (Black - no less!) has a tentative ship date of March 7th.
2. Something would have to be done to cosmetically improve the XB12XT's front end styling.
3. Strange parts, the likes of which I've never handled before, are piling up in my living room.
4. Strange charges to businesses I've never even been to keep popping up in my bank records.

If that doesn't fill in the blanks, there is a post somewhere in a thread - right here on the good ole BadWeB, and I believe you have even posted on - that definitively answers, all plain and simple-like, the question that you ask.

So, have you found it yet? Jlnance has posted on it too...

Oh wait! How could I have been mislead? You are actually asking about my assistance with U4euh's motor swap in his XB9S, right? Thanks for reminding me! I gotta give Jim a call to see if it is still on for this weekend.

Other than that, I've been keeping myself busy...

Time will tell - won't it?

Way to go Brankin! I'm thinking triple play:

Assist with the motor swap,
Assemble a hybrid XB sport touring bike,
and, have your excellent photos acknowledged in press.

You rock!

Fly - Yes, I feel a sickness coming on May 19. At least this time its not in the middle of the week. I will probably ask for the time off now.

As for the motor swap, U4euh that is complete right?

Brankin on an XB? Brankin published? Excellent!

Spike - S100 Soap. I will have to try that. I finally acquired a replacement muffler. I am going to have it and a stock M2 muffler powder coated then polish the header. Eventually I have to replace the last of the scratched up bits I have in the barn and the bike will look better than new.

The weather is suppose to be beautiful this weekend. Anyone have plans for a ride this weekend? Noseed has me diggin in the dirt lately, but with the weather this nice I may want to go road trippin.

NOPE!!!! Still waiting on my race computer, new primary gaskets, and the right amount of time to go down there and put it in. Anyone have a vehicle they want to donate to the cause. Don't think my little S-10 will be very comforable for all those interested in going to Atlanta for the motor-swap!
After the swap we were thinking of going to the Vortex, or the likes!

Brankin, you could at least show us the pictures referenced above, kind like a sneek peek! Course I guess if you signed that, it could be detriminal to the cause!

Mike- I have a solid 9 motor, ebay some parts and,,,,,,hey what am I talkin about!!!! Let me know, I do have another transmission to go in it!

If you all didn't catch this in the main topics, this is what I have been thinking about buying:

Carlos - I'm closing in on the initial break-in and will be having the first service done on the new bike Friday or Saturday. Sure would be nice to get out for a decent length ride so I could really start to get a acquainted with her. If you guys go for a ride on Sunday, I might be available to tag along or more accurately bring up the rear.

Webe, John and I did a little ride yesterday and ran across an 1125R on the street. Buell should be happy. It was a young Marine riding with his sport bike buddies. As Webe pointed out, since its a Harley Product they can by 1125R through a special military program. That should be good for business if that gives Buell an exclusive.

M2nc, I agree. I take my hat off to HD for the military discount program. Tilley's next 1125R due in is also going to young soldier buying on the discount program. Nice benefit for our service personal and good business for BMC.
