I got this far today, with the handlebars mounted and front calipers mounted with the new CARBON pads.Tomorrow is bleeding and the new bigger gage battery cables...I sometimes post to the Ducati boards but this IS "home base alpha"

Handlebars where they belong......beneath the trees

You're VERY funny Eric.Spilt oil..I have to drain the fresh Mobil-1 synthetic OUT and put generic 20w-50 in on my mechanics recommendation in order to properly "seat" my new piston rings.Syn. is a no-no.

While at the dealer i said i wouldn't be able to afford to ride it as i spent too much. They said one or two rides and that anxiety will disappear."Where'd it go"? "It was there and now it's not".

Polished a good bottle(again) of "Jack" while wrenching yesterday.

I've never believed that and neither do Porsche or Corvette engineers among many others, but since there is no harm, better to be safe...

I didn't either as evidenced by my initial use of Mobil-1.But i've heard of the issue, and my Duc mechanic believes it.He honed my cylinders to rough them up,so i'll follow his advice.

...and in a straight line, right cowboy?

I almost rode to work today. Glad I didn't- there was so much sand on the road that I was spinning my tires at every intersection.

Already dying to get out of the house, huh Jim?

Yep, at least I am getting to ride for once..

You know, I am convinced, that they have such striaght roads... so.. that everyone will think "Straight" when they think of texas... trying to get away from that Steers and Queers mentality....

Then again, there isnt much nice I can say about a state that teaches Texas history, not US History... and too monay morons flying the confederate flag... under the wrong pretenses... etc..

Cant wait to get home...

I am getting pressed for time, But I have the front of the bike to square up first.

Found my screwy front end problem, BAD BEARINGS. Them cheap tywan buell factory crap bearings are shot internally. Rough spots in a few spots in them on one side, coming apart on the other.

I got some SKF bearings coming in this week. Quality Sh!t

The caliper is in the works as soon as funds switch to my bank account I will call Tripp and order that stuff. get that squared away.

thinking I may order a new rotor from Grandstand designs, They have one that is 1mm thicker than the stocker i am going to try. I know it isn't much difference but I thought I would try it. i am not totally sold on the wave rotor after speaking w/ Jimmy about his. It does look cool as sh!t though.

If i got time and the funds are there I am doing heads/cams next. talked w/ NRHS and they say don't bother w/ the 1250 kit till I got at least 30k on the bike...Not worth it. they suggested heads/cam work instead.

I got 2 months so I guess I need to get my sh!t together so i am not doing like last year...putting bike together days before heading out to GA

I agree... unless you are gonna be in there anyway... either doing rings, or... something..

Though, I am happy with mine...

All kidding aside "FAG" bearings are amongst the best made.Although, i value the "TORRINGTON" name, and the fact some of them are made in Torrington,CT.

Good to see i'm not the only guy wrenching. What're you doing Fritz?

We may visit the Damnuts' for a short viewing of "The game".

My muffler is at Painkiller Cycles Shop for Drummer like modifications.

I need to change to an open air box...Jim - word has it that you have a spare kit laying around...still have it? $$$.$$???

Of course there will be some tweaking of the ECM after those two mods are completed.

I also have a new front engine mount to replace - doing some testing for work...

Other than that just some cleaning up and and reconditioning (for which I'm looking for guidance from Scott_in_nh) - I want to get the heads cleaned up while I have the engine rotated - they look like crap.

My helmet needs a bit of attention too - one of the snaps is coming out of the padding so the cheek piece isn't being held in correctly.

Oh yeah...I forgot to mention...I now have access to a sound level meter if anybody is interested in getting a reading on their pipes to gage modification changes.

Of course I took my muffler off before I realized I had access but oh well...
