And theres is no "honey dew" list here - I set the priorities and one of them is a purty bike! Sometimes after I get back from a ride, I'll let it cool off while I have a beer, then I grab another beer, put on the radio and clean it before putting it away. Other times I'm waiting for whoever I'm going to be riding with so I clean it to pass the time. Kept clean - it only takes a few minutes with some detail spray and I spend about 1/2 hour every 2 weeks polishing the rims. The only time it gets real dirty is if it was raining in which case it takes me about an hour to get it nice again. I also do maintenance, like checking the oil, air pressure, nuts and bolts etc. at the same time. In fact, I found that my starter motor gasket was starting to leak because I found dots of oil on the tire and rim. I am convinced that a leaking starter motor oiled the left side of Al's back tire and that caused him to crash in a tight left hand turn that same day... If only he cleaned it 1st he would have saved himself a lot of grief, pain and expense! How often do you guys inspect your bikes for safety?
