There is a simple rewire i did to leave both lights on when switching to high beam.

I can also just copy the wire schematics an email to you. That way you can browse for the ones you like.

this is the wire mod i did. Not sure if it helps to locate the wire you can feed off of.

Remove the flyscreen from your bike.
You should see a white wiring harness with 4 wires.
First from the left is the running light/parking circuit (white/orange), second is the high beam (white), third is the low beam (yellow) and fourth is ground (black).
Now remove the 1st wire White/Orange and swap it with the 3rd Yellow. Both lights now stay on when using high beam

Just thought I would post a note that I'm back in town, and would like to get together with everyone asap. This Saturday works ok with me. We received the new PBR 'T' shirts, so if you guys can make it, lets get together.

Kenny

I've had a really long ride dry spell, I need to get on a bike soon.

I'm in. I'll even try and make breakfast... in the cager of course as I don't believe it to be any fun riding on the freeway in the rain and then sitting around in my soaked clothes since I don't have rain gear yet.

See everyone tomorrow.

OK! So what better bikes to have out in the rain? LOL

Just needling you guys, so no worries. I rode the Buell the other day to work, man did I get soaked. Not much for protection on that short little bike.

Took the FZ1 today to work. Getting one last feel for its mid range kick before tearing into her tonight. My PCIII, K&N and velocity stacks came in this week.

It's been awhile since I've ridden my bike so I'm drooling over the weather forecast for the upcoming week. I started attending classes in Vancouver this week and so my 50mpg on the Buell will be welcome vs 10-12mpg in my Blazer or 18mpg Avalanche. I also have class at pcc and spotted a Buell. Richard, former salesman @ Paradise, is attending looking to pilot more than bikes.

Yes next week looks promising. Just make sure to get yourself some rain pants. If you want to go real cheap just go to Joe's and get some rain gear. It is not real heavy duty but works fine for commuting. Get a couple sizes larger then you need and it will fit right over your riding jacket and pants.

My rule for riding is that if its not raining when I leave for work I ride. But I usually end up having to ride back home in the rain. Which is fine with me. I just don't want to be wet at work.

Yeah I plan I throwing the bags on and keeping some rain gear handy. Another cheap rain gear option is Costco.

Did you know that there are Three Rev limits on the Buell XB12.( or at least believed)

Soft limit 1 @ 6300rpm misses after every third fire
Soft limit 2 @ 6400 rpm only fire on every other spark
Hard limit @ 7000 rpm cuts spark completely

Why not just make it at 6700, 6800 and 7000?

Ever notice how fast you can eat up that 700 RPM at WOT? I KNOW I've hit the hard 7000 RPM limiter, not because I stayed in it to long, but because I couldn't react fast enough... I'd guess the system needs that 6300 bump to slow thinks down a bit, sort of a PID curve if you will...

On the other hand if you really wanted to push the bike you are done at 6300 RPM in 4th and 5th gear.

Either way I moved mine to 6700,6800 and left the 7000. If I blow anything I guess you guys will know.

I rode it into work today for some ride impressions. I also locked my AFV at 100% for open loop (above 4000 rpm) while tuning my closed loop to a perfect 100% reading.

What I don't know is if the Race ECM is programed to adjust to 14.7:1 like the stock ECM in closed loop (learn mood).

If it truely is designed to be a race ECM I would think that they would have set it's learn target AFV closer to 13.5:1 for better power and thats why its not intended for street use.

Gents,
I want to send a few signed shirts out to "Honorary Members", EriK (That's with a K) Buell (L) and Court Canfield (XXL) come to mind. I'll cover the cost of these two, and I'll be buying one other for a fellow Badwebber in TX. I'd like all of us to get a chance to Sign Eric and Court's. First Question, When and How? Second question, Anyone else we want to send a signed shirt to?
