Hay von-Bueller, snazy name!

I'm still around. I just finished my last final for this semi... I spent a little time in NY city a couple weeks ago meeting with some interesting people!.. I stoped over at the H-D Store on Monday and today to say hi to a couple friends, ( it also makes the higher ups a littel....never mind ) I tried to ride the 1125 on a public road but all the techs were out with it today. one person racked up over 120 miles in 3 hours today. BASTARD!!!!!!!

All of my laptops at home, don't have serial ports . I left my work pc at work fri. So I'll play with it on mon. I did find the software online. I guess the magic piece of the puzzle is the serial port slug on the cable.

Ras, no problemo. Take your time. I'd rather not have it in the mail during the Christmas mailing rush anyway. Glad I could be of assistance, in an out of the way, kinda way.

Hey Ramon.. Have you been by Frederick Buell recently? This week.. at least until I pick 'er up.. My new ride is sitting in 'Sartorial Splendor' to be admired and lusted over..

I'm hoping this weekend to try and make the pickup so I'll have it in the garage for Christmas (that way, I can sit on it and make engine sounds.. ) at least until it warms up a little for a 'real' shakedown ride..

Yeah, I'm stoked!

Everyone that has ridden our demo 1125R has come back with a huge grin on their face. If interested, please contact me about riding this great new bike. This Saturday is full, but if you are available Dec 26, 27, 28 or 29, lets set something up! Give Erik a call at The Buell Store of Baltimore!

In addition, I just got 2 more 1125Rs in today, and they are available!

I had fun today. On the way to Old Glory HD/B I talked my brother into stopping in to HD of Frederick to look and see if they had any used HD Fatboys. My brother isn't a Buell kinda guy, so there was nope hope of converting him.
Anywho..., Stopped in and asked for Ratbuell, but he wasn't coming in until later in the day.

Talked to John (older guy w/ white hair) John spied my Buell jacket and says "Do you wanna see the 1125R?" Are there cows in Texas? Lead the way John. He took us back to the wash bay and let me oogle and sit on the bike. He said Ratbuell was going to deliver/turn the keys over to another proud 1125R owner this afternoon.

Nice bike, I like it. A little too aggressive riding position for my tastes, but hopefully there will be an "S" or "T" version somewhere down the road from the mothership. The rad pods aren't bad. The thing I thought was odd was how far forward the fairing is compared to my "S". It's waaaay out there. I can't wait until it is demo time again to take it a spin.

BTW, my brother ended up buying a used '07 Fatboy @ Old Glory from Steve Corbett. We go back down Wed/Thurs to pick it up, depending on when he gets his insurance switched over. If ya need a bike, give Steve a call. We bounced emails back and forth for about 3 weeks waiting for this bike to come in. It didn't even make it to their website. So sometimes they know they have a bike coming in and you can have first chance at it.

OG Buell swag: They had another new Buell t-shirt on the racks that I don't remember being there in Oct. The merch. rack is a little closer to the front door and turned so it more visible. They also had some riding gloves and rain suits on display as well. I may snag a rain suit when we pick up the HD.

Yo Toona!
What time were you there? I must have just missed you... Joe (RatBuell) wasn't in at all today, from what he told me, he'll be out for a little while (I'm sure he'll chime in here at some point).

As for the 'Proud 1125R owner' ... That would be me. That was number 230 you sat on and I snapped it up this afternoon and rode it home. Damn! What a machine! I'd ridden a pre-production and to tell the truth I think the production version is even better then the one we got to ride.. or, that could just be me feeling all giddy with my new Christmas gift safely tucked in the garage.

I'll post again in the 1125 riding impressions but this thing is a monster in .. well.. Evil Elven dress.. Oh, and Toona, it's not as tight as my Firebolt, so for me, it's kinda comfy. XB's are small and nimble... this follows that thought along with a little more.. uh.. POW!

Hehehehehe.. I gotta new bike for Christmas! I'm so amped!! YEEEHAAAA!!!

Blu, I was there around 10:30/11:00.

Congrats on the sweet ride. I agree, the ergo's are not as radical as the Firebolt, but still a little too far over for my bones. Quick seat time seemed like the seat was a little softer than the 'bolt seat, but I was looking at the dash and not really thinking about the seat cushion.

BTW, MERRY CHRISTMAS to all my fellow CABO riders.

Erik,
I just installed the Touratech foot pegs on the ULY and the space got tight between the gear shift peg and the foot peg. How did you adjust? I think I lost about a half an inch or a forth with the new pegs! K

Blu - glad you got it home and enjoyed the ride. I would much rather have been there with you than installing doors, trim, and cabinets in Cumberland!

You bring up a good point, and one I have not been able to test for myself - how do the production bikes compare to the Inside Pass bikes? Maybe when I'm back at work I'll get a chance to put some miles on one to see what the differences are.... Anyhoo, Merry Christmas (late) and ride safe! I'll see you guys at the DC show : )

Hey Rat!

I hope you had a good Christmas, didn't spend too much time doin' the hammer & nails thing. With a little luck, Santa brought you something nice...

Yeah, it's a hoot to ride, still need to get a little warmer (I still have no electrics - unlike some folks) so I can run up some miles on this bad boy! For the most part, the only real changes for me is having all that info visible (remember at Inside Pass we had blue tape on the dashes) and trying to decide what I'd like to have and see and what not since there's no way it scrolls through everything.. is there?

I ran 'The Circuit' Christmas day (had a little time to ride before I was due back for X-mas duties). Ramon and Jose have been on some of those roads and know they are 'low' speed, high twist kinda roads. A lot of fun and a great place to get a little work in finding the 'comfort points' of the new machine. Have yet to find any limits on this thing (at least on the street - not that I found them on the track either)..

Hope to see ya at the show!

Kathy,
I got a replacement shift lever, cut off 1.125 inches and drilled and tapped a hole for a Buell Blast shift peg. Another option would be to get the Touratech adjustable shift lever. Good Luck!

Thanks for the demo ride today Marlinrider.
1125R has awsome mid range power. 4 to 8k will make you giggle , then your shield fogs up. So if you buy one , you need to get a bottle of anti-fog.

I'm in need of an XB rear rim, the wheel bearing fell out of mine so I'm forced to replace the whole rim.

Anyone have one they are looking to sell? Let me know what colors you have, right now I have the XB9 silver rims.

Thanks, Thad

Erik,
The folding gear shift and brake levers are back on the drawling table at Touratech. I'm glad my feet aren't real long, I can shift with no problem. I love the new pegs! Just wondered what you did! I got the heated grips and they are installed now, what a difference they make. Next question, upgrade for ampage for the Uly? With all of the goodies I got I know the battery will give out. I was looking at the PIAA lights for the front, but I'm guessing the battery couldn't handle all of that during winter riding. K

Just add up the wattage to determine what you need. I recently installed 100w bulbs in my headlights and they make quite a difference. If you go with the PIAA, I like the 510s, and you'll probably want to make a bracket to mount them. Another option I saw on BadWeb was replacing the headlights with off-road lights...one spot and one wide beam. I will try to locate that info and post it.

Erik, I saw the PIAA 510 lights on the big, bad, and dirty thread I'm more interested in the 1100x lights they are smaller and more for road riding, they probably will out-shine the stock headlights on the Uly. The 100 watt bulb you went to interests me. Thanks for the info! new toy new goodies K

For the iron butt riders in here, I have a fellow rider who wants me to go on a 1000 mile ride into Canada this June, I'm thinking about going on this one since I have a bigger bike now and noticed a couple of Buells entered last year when I was looking at the web site. So here is the link if anybody else is interested in this ride: http://www.aldersland.com/ K

Eric,
What are the name of the lights you installed on your bike? Did you have to do any type of mods because of the 100w bulbs?

FVB, the bearing pressed in to the wheel. Friction fit. If it is loose, it will continue to damage the wheel (further).

If you dare let it go any farther, it will wobble and then you will crash.
