Jim - I am glad you made it to Michael's yesterday. I got up to go but Mike was the only one to respond and he was a maybe. I have this route I was going to try out with some good twisty roads and not too much of a detour. The problem for me yesterday is I did not have enough time to take the good roads and get back in time for engagements we had in the afternoon. That would leave me super-slabbing it there and back and I just couldn't talk myself into it. Noseed and I rode 300 miles on Saturday so I was satisfied to pass yesterday. I want to make it to Michael's one Sunday when the rest of the crew will be there.

Noseed and I had a good ride Saturday. We roughly followed the Blue Gray Scenic Byway from Trenton to Smithfield. Part of the run involved Devil's Racetrack Rd which is always fun. We managed to ride 300 miles and the other than Smithfield, we stayed out of any major towns. We took the northern route home staying south of Wilson and Tarboro, but north of Farmville. We ended up needing gas at the end so we rode south into Greenville. Riding through Greenville reminded me why it was so much fun avoiding big towns.

These pics were taken late afternoon yesterday. Temp was about 14 or so... Applying the adjustment from the wind chill and it was DAMN cold, that's all I can say.

P.S. The above post as well as this one was posted with my Mom's new computer (one of my Christmas gifts to her). It most definitiely beats her old one. When I couldn't post pics of the 1125R from Road America after Homecoming I realized how urgently my Mom's computer needed to be updated.

BTW Jlnance-
The transition all went smoothly!

From a thread on ADV:

quote:

Hey guys, I am in the middle of my trip. I just got to Dallas from Miami. But my GPS system is given a lot of problems. It keeps given me a route that is not correct, I am going crazy. I have wasted more then 3 hours because of it. It is garmin pilot III GPS, the map source say it DC, MA, NY but it does show the map and given me some F*** rode.

I checked the map setting and it is not set on avoiding highway. What should I do, do I have to buy different map source information. Please if anyone knows post up, it is given me a hard time.

Perhaps a map? : )

Modern devices are great when everything is working correctly. So far I like the map, but Deeson being able to call up the nearest gas station when we were in the middle of no where was nice.

What an interesting day. Had Mexican for lunch - a burrito the size of your head! - with some current and past Buell employees, the most notable being Shawn Higbee.

After lunch went to a discount liquor store and found they had 2 bottles of Kuebler Absinthe. I say had because I bought both bottles - and, yes, they are both spoken for. They also carried Absente but I already have a bottle of that at home. The key point is that these two brands seem to be pretty easy to find. A friend of mine got the Absente for me right in New Bern. The Kuebler stuff seems to be pretty easy to get (at least in Wisconsin). To complete the trifecta of legal in the US Absinthe's I hope to find some Lucid tomorrow as I journey down into Illinois.

I stopped at Hal's and they have Dan Bilansky's #11 (PIN #8) XBRR with the AWESOME exposed carbon fiber bodywork on it on the showroom floor with a normal sales tag on it. No price listed, but it was great to see that BEAUTIFUL exposed carbon fiber - those parts are truly ART! Oh yeah, also on the showroom floor with a SOLD tag on the left grip (and a license plate!) was an 1125R. As usual, there were a handful more Buell's at Hal's, these were just the 2 most interesting right now.

Oh yeah, today a heat wave came through. The high was 44°.

X-mas installed. Adjustable Wunderlich control levers in blue and gray, Wunderlich micro-flooter lights, and a Galpher wave rotor for the front dirt wheel. I think I'm going to go explore the Green River Swamp area soon.

I hope all had or are having and nice holiday!

Happy New Year!

Hello from snowy Wisconsin!

My best buddy up here has an idea for Homecoming. He has a nice large backyard that could easily be used for camping. Having a fire would be acceptable, and use of his shower would most likely be a part of the package, although the hot tub may be off limits - too early to tell on that one. So my question to the collective C3 is:

Who all would be interested in camping for this years Homecoming?

The route to Buell is about 10-15 minutes and it is on one of my favorite roads around East Troy, with plenty of other roads in the area to explore and have fun on.

So far I have told him to just leave it as a C3 camp, until we see how many takers there are. If there is a low turnout of C3 'members' for the camping it will be opened up to a larger audience. I told him, though, that if it is opened up for all of BadWeB, the turnout would likely be overwhelming.

So, what does everyone think?

I will be having a good ole Milwaukee style Friday Night Fish Fry with my buddy tonight, but will not be able to check back on BadWeB for a day or two. Answers aren't needed right away, but some initial feedback would be helpful to see if he can open it up to a larger audience.

Hell, I may even camp out at his place instead of staying with my parents...Well, I'll be crashing at his house tonight, so it's not like it's that far out of the question...

1313 - It's an interesting idea, I think it would be a lot of fun. I don't really have my homecoming plans nailed down, but if there is some big party at your friends house, I'll be there. : )
