Dude - your pops is cool! And I'm certain the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Too bad I will be flying back from East Troy on the 31st, otherwise I might be able to meet up with you when you pick up your new Uly.

UlyRider - Congrats to you and Mama. The first one changes the world and your importance in it. A sleepless but wonderful time in life.

Webe, Rubber Down and I went to an ADV dinner in Lumberton this past weekend. I was thinking how neat it was to see everyone even if just for dinner. I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in setting a date to get together for dinner one day. Webe and I were talking about the weekend after Xmas. What do you think?

Ulyessesman...Good to hear your old man turned you on to this site. Soon you will meeting some damn fine people and very good riders as well. As far as the Drummer goes, go for it. You will not be disappointed. I put a S/S on my xb9s, and it really smoothed it out. Plus it's the best sounding pipe out there...period! I'm sure I'll meet you at some point. Jeez, I'm getting old. I've got a son older than you! Take care and have a great X-mas!

The drummers are excellent sounding mufflers. But they are loud. Even with ear plugs, it hurts my head to ride a bike with a drummer on it. But I have sensitive ears. I don't think most people find them as objectionable as I do.

I can't ride with loud pipes either. Had an Special Ops pipe on a 9R; it sounded great but I found it highly annoying to ride with so I sold it.

The S/S Drummer is probably the least obnoxious pipe that Kevin makes. The original is a bit louder. The workplace tests our hearing yearly, and mine is always above average for a guy my age. So, no earplugs for me. Burt, you are halfway right about the age thing. Lately, my left hamstring cramps up after only 100 miles or so. That's got to stop. Time for me to start bicycling again. I have no other choice. 500 miles for break in. Can't recall the rpm. Bought mine used.

HOW CONSERVATIVE IS THE BREAK IN, AND HOW MANY MILES IS IT?

I rode it pretty hard during break in on my 04 Firebolt, I got 33k or so on the odometer before the second crash took her life. I only bumped the rev limiter a dozen or so times in that early span.

But the motor is going into U4euh's bike after the holidays.

Mileage is only 500 miles to break it in.

It's 500 miles for breakin, but you can run at least 80 given the RPM range they tell you to stay in, so it's not like you'll be suffering too much. : )
