Just in time for a bevy of Buell 1125r's... A new road motor course is being built on the Front Range. "The RING of the ROCKIES", is modeled after the famous Nuerburgring and is designed by the world-renowned Formula 1 racetrack architect, Hermann Tilke from Germany. What a wonderful time to own a Buell!!!

When you see the race track, you will know that Tilke has created something very special. Once you drive the course, you'll be hooked. The track layout allows for several different configurations offering driving thrills for every level of driver; from the novice to the experienced racer. The track is located on an expanse of more than a thousand acres, allowing the track to follow the natural contours of the land, which incorporates canyons, bluffs, and ponds.

From the map the track will be out by Deer Trail, east of Denver off I-70 near where I recently went exploring abandoned missile silo exploring.

Of course already in Colorado are La Junta Raceway 3 mi. north of US-50 on Hwy-109. It is a 1.3 mile mostly oval track at 4,220ft elevation.

Also Pueblo Motorsports at US-20 & Pueblo Blvd; 2.25 multi-turn course at 4,900 ft.

Not far east is Motorsports Park in Hastings NB. 2.3 miles of several long stretches and multi-curves at 1,900 ft.

West of course is fabulous & new Miller Motorsport just out of Salt Lake City with 4.5 miles of road course at 4,450 ft.

Buell XB12TT to run up Pikes Peak International Hillclimb, 20July2008. We'll have a spot at the pre-race party in Co Sprgs Friday 18July and a place on the hill race day.

What a ride,
what a view,
what a race!

Where as nearly every cage that runs the race contains hardly a single stock part, chassis, motor, drive train, suspension, even seat, the motorcycles are nearly all stock in build.

Jammer, great pics and it looked like the Buell was holding its own during the tire test.

Are there any plans to have the bike and rider do a meet and greet with the general public (Buell riders and wannabes) before the race?

You can see the bike now at High Country nearly any day except Sunday's or when we are test riding as we continue to develop and refine it.

We met with Ricky Orlando and discussed a track day and options for sending High Country H-D/Buell customers to him for MSF instruction. He is working on putting together what the costs would be for a track day at the Byers track (High Plains Raceway). We discussed several scenarios so we would have options. I will keep everyone posted as this progresses.

If you are interested, please PM me with phone #s and e-mails so we can contact you as details unfold.

The New Rider MSF course he does is about every other weekend thurs-sun and has openings.

Cntry H-D/Buell has been shopping for a convenient, exciting local track that we could rent for a day to provide an exciting high quality track day experience. The few Colorado tracks that meet our requirements are pretty full and have not been supportive to our efforts, at least not economically. Details do not matter but suffice it to say there is a magnitude of difference between us.

But all is not lost. We do have an option.

Ricky Orlando raced at this years Daytona 200, finished behind all 6 Buells by the way. He used to race against Erik Buell back in the day. He just firmed up his next track day for us, 04May in Byers, the new High Plains Raceway. He says the track is fast, has a rise followed by a tight turn that will pucker your back side. Even a pro racer like Ricky knowing the track says going into the rise you brake hard and you are still surprised at the turn and you feel your heart rise into your chest.

If you are interested, contact Ricky, 303.666.6061 www.RickyOrlando.com

The course day is $375 unless you have been track MSF/MRF certified, then it is only $225. Buell Back to Track days do qualify you. The higher cost is because you need class instruction before you can participate.

If you doubt the intensity of this track, http://www.highplainsraceway.com/ gives details.

Historic & storied Pikes Peak International Hillclimb Race is this weekend. This is the second oldest motorsport race in the US, only Indy 500 is older. Over 100 motorcycles are entered, with Ducati sponsoring a factory team with new bikes and several Ducati mounted privateers. Ducati has another Tracey brother, both having won in their respective classes last year, who is mounted on a 1200cc class that will go head to head with our High Country Buell XB12STT ridden by Walker Pew, built & tuned by Max Morath. We’ve been working on this bike for months, fine tuning, eeking out more power, tweeking the suspension. Last year Walker went down in an accident, as did our other rider Brian Anderson weeks before the race, so we had no choice but to mount two rookies to this very unique challenging race.

Tracey on his Multirstrada has been clocked hitting 120mph two places in the last race section which is all dirt to the summit from Devil’s Playground. We don’t care, we have Buell under us and a familiar rider. We’ll be on the mountain before sun-up cheering Walker on. Anyone interested in joining us, besides mountain side before sun up, the pit area at the base of the mountain is a great place to hang out too.
