I realize this is last minute, but I was hoping some other blasters had today off too in the stlouis area. We are trying to organize a club of sorts that would be called "half liter" and consist of 500cc (or less) riders. Today two or three of us are meeting and going to see the new die hard at ronnies plaza on south lindbergh. If anyone here is free, we are leaving from festus surdyke yamaha parking lot around noon and the movie is a 1:25 matinee. Email me or call if you are meeting us either place. My cell is 6182036980. After the movie we will go on a ride for a couple hours probably. It would really be cool to have a bunch of blasts together. let me know who you are and where we are meeting.

Dirk,

Go for something funny in the name thing...How about "Half Baked"?...

John gave the KC guys their name "KCMOB" "Kansas City Men On Buells"...But the "MOB" thing was kind of funny considering KC's rep...Good Luck!...

Tom,

I haven't really done a route but will do so tonight to hand out at the QT...But we will be going to Jim Coleman's farm for a grill of brats and hamburgers...Thanks Jim!...So I will be giving Jim a call in the morning from the QT with a headcount...Jim's farm is in the Arcadia Valley area and has lot's of great riding roads surrounding it...

Thanks,

Bob

Bob,

Thanks again for having me, I really appreciate the hospitality of you and Jim & Terry and the rest of the group. Other than the accelerated tire wear, from trying to hang with you guys, it was a great time.

Hope to see you again,
Tom S

Tom,

Enjoyed having you along and hope to do it again...I followed you a bit on P and you'll get along just fine with this group...I still try to post our rides here whenever I can but sometimes I forget to get on over to our Yahoo group and sign in...This is where all of the activity is taking place now that we no longer have a BRAG club and many of us no longer even have Buell's...

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/MO-SIL-HSTA/

I'm certain that even though it is called the "Honda" Sport Touring Association you saw by the variety of brands that we are totally brand blind...You just have to like to ride...Today was actually one of our shorter rides because of the stuff at Jim's farm...

The short history is that we used to have a BRAG club and the core group really liked 300+ s'mile days...We met the HSTA guys at the motorcycle show when we still had one and it was pretty clear that their style and ours was a fit so we invited them on our "Third Sunday" rides and we went on their "First Saturday" ones...Then when we lost our Buell dealer it was just easier to merge right into the HSTA...I used to be the director of the BRAG club and Neal over in KY used to be the director of the club in Evansville IN...We're both with HSTA now...Same with John, who was on the S2 this morning...I'll point out the Buellers to you along the way...Sooner or later you'll meet Mariabellen and Josh Andrews...Josh, jump in here and tell Tom about your Buells...

And Buell is getting a Rotax for the Bolt or so the rumor mill says...If this comes to pass it will be absolutely fantastic...

Thanks,

Bob

Was that my cue? Welcome to St Louis Buelldom Tom.

We missed the ride on Saturday as the missus wanted to take her 00Blast out for a shorter run, we hooked up with another couple on a Gixxer (the wife has a license and a bike but isn't ready for the street yet) (Bob - this was the guy (Dave) on the Gixxer last year when it rained on him his first ride with us) and ran around the river road and surrounding areas.

Put 130 miles on the 91RS1200 before it ran out of gas (oops, seems the reserve solinoid isn't wired correctly) but I coughed and willed it into a convienent QuickTrip.

Short, hot day but we had a good time. I hope we can make the next HSTA ride.

Krid80- keep us posted on the Blast club!

WTF! Buell went water-cooled? does it come with hardbags?

Apparently there is more to this Rotax thing than just rumor...But Buell is about the absolute best at keeping their lips sealed so we will just have to wait and see....Hmmm, I'm thinking something along the lines of the Uly with better weather protection and not so much suspension travel but I'm also thinking that the next problem to solve is how to get more fuel on board for more of a touring range...Steve Long's Uly was pretty much sucking air last year on the way to CO at about 150 s'miles...Josh, didn't we used to get into the 200's on our S3T's?...I really don't need the 300+ range that the ST has because my butt doesn't have a 300+ mile range...But 200+ is pretty nice to have out west...

Glad you guys had a nice ride and I do remember that poor guy's first ride with us...Very wet...

Tom...Someone has applied to the HSTA Yahoo Group by did not leave their real name...Screen name on Yahoo was "more_bikes_please"...That wasn't per chance you?...

5.5gal * 55MPG, I was looking for a fillup at 200, but it would keep running till 220-235. Reserve was no more than 12miles, I hope the 1125Rs fuel computer gives the rider a little more info and little less walking ;)

Would be nice to see the new motor rotate to the rest of the lineup, the 1125R with hardbags and a taller shield would be a great competitor for the Sprint ST/Duc ST3 crowd.

I am helping co-ordinate a ride for sunday afternoon to bixby. A guy I sold a vstar 1100 to and several of his friends on every style of bike from dual sport to cruiser to supersport wanted a good 200 mile or so ride so they are planning to leave from gateway harley in south county st louis sunday at 1:00 or so. A few of us will likely be meeting the group on 21 in desoto as some will be coming from parts south. if interested in riding, either reply here or call me @ 6182036980

Fellow SLABers!

My future Bro-in-law may be getting a job in the St. Louise area.

If you guys could, email me the areas that would be the best place to get a place the places to avoid. And with the places to get a place a possible price estimate, no worries on being to descriptive just a hi/med/lo would be fine.

Thanks!

Bixby, Herman, anything SW of you is good from St Louis to Oklahoma. Northern Arkansas they say is nice also. Avoid I44.

I might be riding on Sunday, but nothing for sure yet.

Just thought I`d say hello.

I`m looking forward to getting my new Helicon soon but not looking forward to breaking it in over the winter. I wont be able to wait until spring so I will be going out every chance I get as long as it is at least 50 degrees sunny and dry.

I`m in the Wentzville area and figured there might be some other "SLABS" who are also wanting to "shake down" a new bike before spring.

Neal,

Congratulations on your new 1125...I think there will be quite a few anxious to see it...We pretty much ride all winter as long as the streets are clear so I'm certain you'll get plenty of chance to break it in...NOAA is forecasting a warmer than average winter for us so hooray for that!...I try to post all of our rides here...

Neal,
Any delivery date on the 1125R yet? I'm planning on putting heated grips on mine when it gets here, and the fairing works better than most sportbikes, but I'm hoping for a warm winter ;)

I haven`t heard any dates yet. All I know for now is that I`m getting the 1st one that comes in at Mid America H D

I`m really not too upset about all the delays but am very anxious to start riding it.

I`m planning on some mods right away and more will follow just as soon as I figure out what I don`t like about the bike. The truth is that I don`t know what is already available for the 1125r. I would assume that there is a wealth of factory and aftermarket stuff available that interchanges with previous models but since I`m a Buell newbie I don`t know crap. That`s what makes the Bad Web so cool because I`m learning things about the bike that the dealer doesn`t even know yet!

As soon as I get mine I will be out every chance I get!!!

Josh,

It sounds like we will be getting our bikes delivered within the next week or two but I`m not going to bring mine home until Jan 2nd, (taxes). Anyway I was thinking that we should definitely get together to break them in and do a little showing off asap.
