Just to clarify....... It was my resaponsibility that invitations weren't extended to everyone! for that I apologize.....

Plans for the weekend were up in the air, right up until we arrived, and even then I wouldn't say that everything was accounted for.

First off, Give Keith a break, I don't know where everyone got the idea that this was his planning. Tori and Dena invited Jason and I back out to go to this concert with them. Those tickets, I was under the assumption, had to be bought in advance. We were planning on staying at Dena's thurs night and then up in Burlington on Friday and "maybe" Saturday. At no time was I going to invite myself to Keith's or anyone else for that matter. Any time I had planned to stay in Quincy, was going to be on my nickel whereever covienient to what was on the schedule! there was some talk of a boat ride on Sat. but that was pending Keith's checking for space on said boat.

With the procurement of space on the boat and tickets for the show Fri. night both requiring a little prior planning, I thought it best to just keep it quiet with regards to inviting fellow mobbers......Keith seemed upset, as did Heather when informed that Frank wasn't coming back that weekend. It just wasn't my place to bring along the rest of the gang.....as I said it was all still up in the air as of thurs.

I Just didn't want everyone thinking that it was anyone's but my fault that someone got left out of the festivities. I realize that nobody is upset about this(but me) but I wanted to say this on behalf of Keith and Heather. their gracious hosting of out motley crowd on occasion speaks volumes to the type of genuinely great people they are. It just seems like there is a little mis-understanding around here right now as to why people, were or were not there! Blame it on the chicks....It's always there fault!

Frank, you shoulda been there buddy

Fellow KC MOB BRAG...

I am considering buying a handheld radar gun... used or reconditioned. I have a couple of questions related to the MOB.

1. Who besides me is interested in comparing indicated speed with radar speed... (without the negative side effect of a speeding ticket)?

2. Would we as a club be interested in finding a kosher place to make runs into the radar for others to have that info for a petty fee that could be shared with the club to...

a. ...act as a fund raiser for the club to do the indicated vs radar speed... or like projects as long at we don't get stupid... OK... as long as I don't get stupid!! (at some location where we will not be attracting real cars with flashing red lights)?

b. ...to help me recover the cost of purchase while sharing with the club as a fund raiser?

let me know... I want a radar gun for some sick reason... and how much I am able to spend relates to if I am greedy with my toy... or can share it to benefit the club and help defray this un-necessary purchase!!!

Just a thought... whatcha think guys...

That is correct.... we all never exceed the posted speed limit... BUT... is the indicated 70 mph on your speed-o-meter on your scooter accurate... is it really 67 mph... or is it really 75 mph??? My BMW is about 3-5 mph optimistic... so say if it were to be going 120 mph... it might actually be only 115 mph... er I mean... if it reads 70 mph... it might only be 66 mph.

...and about the invite... I donno... between my employer and my fiancée... I can get in trouble all by myself... thank you... but it looked like you all had a great time.... hmmmmmmm!!! let me think about this!!! :-)

Dennis,

We wouldn't put you in a bad position with your employer! We tend to have as good a time as is reasonably possible depending on surrounding conditions. The surronding conditions this past weekend were extremely relaxed. (sandbar on an island on the mississippi river) Heck, you've ridden with that Hooligan Sam, the rest of us are quite tame by comparison!! LOL In regards to the fiance'. I bring mine along all the time.

Fuscat,
Think on a much much larger scale. Like the top of that field!

Lets put it this way! Don't skip out on your Federal parole, probation, or have a federal warrant, and you won't see Dennis!

Dennis, I like the radar gun idea!

Frank, I'm off work tommorrow, do you need me to bring over my 125 piece no name tool kit? LOL!!!

Fuscat...

Used to be Independence PD... back in the mid 1970's... (yes everyone... I am an old fart!! pushing 50 so hard it hurts... literally!) I Did that for 8 years... and am a Deputy U.S. Marshal... since 1985. Starting my 27th year in LE work. AND if anyone is wondering 673 days until I can retire, but who's counting!!! (come to think of it... prior to that I did 4 years in the Army... hey... I may have never had a real job!!! That is scary!!!) ...and don't be impressed... I am not. I have never really met anyone who was impressed with my badge. Especially when I need for them to be.

EXAMPLE: I am on a major highway... my bike is on the side of the road... there is a very colorful vehicle behind me with pretty flashing lights, red and blue... and bright stickers... 911 on the fender... but it is not a Porsche. As the officer walks up to me I say... "Excuse me officer... but I seem to have dropped my badge... could you pick that up for me?" WAY NOT IMPRESSED!!!!

Gravedigger...

...it is expected that my profession be held to a high standard of conduct... even off duty. It is almost like they own me. I am sooo looking forward to retiring... unfortunately... I will not be able to live of the retirement checks... so I will have to get a real job. Did I ever tell you all I have my very own chair in my Chief's office... since I am in there so often over something we have opposing opinions on??? Oh well... You can take the boy out of the white trash neighborhood... but you can't take the white trash out of the boy!

But I am a big boy... and know how far I can push to have a private life. and at times... "Frankly Scarlet... I don't give a damn!!! ...you know how hard it is to fire a federal employee?"

I am more afraid of Sharon... I gotta sleep sometime!

Usapitbullz...

I at trying to hook up with a contact with the Alaska Highway Patrol... they have about a 100 units to sell... and the company they bought the replacement units from would have only give them $100.00 trade in credit. I have not heard from them... but the sales rep contacted me and had told them I was looking for one. I am trying to get a very good unit for no more than $300.00... but may have to spend more to ensure it is not used up or beat to crap. My urge it to jump quick... but it I wait... I might be able to get a like new unit for a very low price... and a U.S. Marshal hat in trade.

EVERYONE... NO... I can't fix tickets (God I wish!!!) ...and I don't have any get out of jail free cards... and that scares me!!!

PS... since I am usually the slowest one in the group... I am the last one who at times has to zoom to catch up... and I am sure will be the first one they pull over if we bend some traffic law. Oops!!! :-)

Tripper,

You would be so proud!! I only "ozarked it" for about the first half hour or so of the ride. Unlike that trip, I got a little better as the day went on! I am blaming Richie also for being up on one wheel!! especially since he wasn't here! heehee

Dennis, 674 days til we drag you on one of these trips then!!! (with sharon's permission that is, trust me I've been down that road with my fiance also! lol)

SPEAKING OF TRIPS??????

What happened to all the discussion about going down to Arkansas??? We still going to try to put something together in September with the KC guys and the STL guys?? extended weekend??
Dennis this would be a good trip for you also. When we do these types of trips it is usaully very riding oriented. When riding just get behind racerboy and v2win they are about your age and quite professional. they wouldn;t lead you astray.

Keith

p.s. Sam, It looks like your reputation proceeds you!

Dave,
Would love to do DEALS GAP!! but unfortunately I will not be doing much except local rides till August. Funds are pretty depleted after the past 2 out of 3 weeks here, plus Heather and I are headed to Jamaica July 7-11. Throw in trying to plan a wedding and I have been pushing it a bit.
Sorry to hear about the rain lastweekend. Did you and the Chicago group get any good riding in??

IF YOU HAVE NOT MADE A TRIP TO DEALS GAP THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY!!!! THIS IS AN AWESOME AREA TO RIDE!!!

Keith
