Rasmonis,

It says grand opening for Buell. Is this dealer just starting to pick up the Buell line? Or is this an open house for the 08 line? Is it just the 27th?

Sounds like an interesting time!

They have been carrying Buell motorcycles since their opening early this year, but it has mostly been a Harley shop.

They want to make sure the Buell brand is well represented and supported and have been gathering gear, planning displays etc. This is their official Buell "coming out" if you will, event. I stopped by the store earlier this week, they now have Buell gear (some real cool shirts), parts etc. in the showroom and the '08 models should be making their way into the showroom from now until the 27th.

We're trying to get an 1125R for folks to gawk at, sit on etc and there will be good discounts on Buell parts and accessories on the 27th. Come out and show your support for this new shop.

In my mind, I see all the local (and not so local) Buelligans riding in from 4 corners (I'd like to have a 5th for symbolic reasons - 5 points of a star - Old Glory) show up and have an all around good time. We have a descent number of Buell owners in the area and this shop is very interested in wanting to know what we're all about - let's show them!

I got a note from someone there the other day and it appears that a couple guys from South Carolina, who used to live in the DC area, answered a call for a new store to be located in the area, did the land search and that this is a brand spanking new dealership. Very cool!

My first suggestion would be that that they add their phone number to their website . . . there is a "picture" of it now but that prevents accessing it from a PDA. I was trying to call the other day and couldn't find the number.

The deal the 27th sounds like a hoot and I think there would be a real opportunity for a "Buell Serious" dealer in the area.

Their number is (301) 575-0575

Court, I believe they're trying to get a hold of you. Ask for Anthony Moskunas.

Hmmm.. I was thinking.. for those that are willing to risk the roads from the Dulles area.. I could lead a little run out to them. Just know that it won't be much in the way of backroads since .. well.. D.C. is smack dab in the way and going around would make it an all day ride just to get there (and hit some really fun twisties).

So.. Anyone from my neck of the woods looking to roll over there? We could meet at a point in the Dulles, Centerville, Chantilly or Fairfax areas.. Oh wait.. How's this for an idea? .. We'll meet at Patriot.. you know the butt jewlery dealer that doesn't believe Buell exists.. Might be cool to have a bunch of Buells roll in.. then roll out for Old Glory...

Just a thought..

A parts discount is awesome. Really just having parts in stock is a great starting point. It is about time for an air filter for me so I might take advantage of a discount.

"there will be good discounts on Buell parts and accessories on the 27th. "

Should read :
"there will be good discounts on selected Buell parts and accessories on the 27th."

I believe these are parts/accessories obtained from Gettysburg HD. - I could be wrong on this. Let me find out for sure.

my fun interference co-ordinator about
an all day excursion from points east of Annapolis. The negotiations shall begin this evening.I shall see everyone there.

Yeah,

We've needed something like this in the area. They're cool people.

I'm lucky I have OGHD near work and Frederick HD when I'm home.

I'll be leading the ride to OGHD from the Frederick area. Right now the route I have in mind is about 90% back roads.

Hmmm.. Not hearing much for my run.. However, right now, there are two choices..

One.. Leave from Herndon/Sterling area and have a little scenery and a few twists before we cross into town and then out again to the dealer..

Two.. Leave from Patriot and run slab the whole way..

Anyone else from my neck of the woods going or am I a one man delegation on this one?

It's 410 miles from here to Old Glory. If Terri and I come down would someone be willing to show us a good BBQ joint, or a good Mexican food restaurant? I'm not saying that we're coming for certain, but it would be a fun trip. I have to see if I can get Friday off, and we have to find someone to watch our daughter for the weekend. If those things happen, we could make it...

Jose,
I haven't been on some of those roads in years.
The route looks good, but I did see a couple of things.
1) You don't need to turn on Dunwood Valley Dr as it is a residential street.
2)Hillmeade Rd and Springfield Rd do not connect. Both roads stop at the train tracks. Looks like 450 to 193 to Good Luck Rd to Springfield Rd will work. Take a look.

Now all I need to do is fix my oil leak and I can ride the Buell to Old Glory.
