With the Gestapo/ Draconian enforcement tactics currently being used on both the Dragon AND the Cherohola Skyway by THP and an apparent increase in patrols by N.C, I am seriously considering cancelling the planned Friday trip up there... Besides, Ga and S.C. have great roads with less traffic and less L.E. presence... | ||

Paint, it seems to be everywhere. Only here, LE is friendlier, and more polite. Out of all the experiences I've had so far this summer, all they've done is road blocks and or checking for motorcycle endorsement. The main crack downs as far as speed, has been on the interstates, kind of a squid crack down. | ||

Sorry guys, I just realized that the Florida State game against NC State is Saturday and I already have tickets. There's also a Breast Cancer Poker Run Sunday. Oh well... I should still make it up there for March Badness though! | ||

Hey folks...I'm on a HUGE time crunch here...just found out I can make it down for Buelltoberfest and don't have time to look through everything to find out what I can do for accomodations...I've seen camping at TWO but have no idea what that is. Is there still lodge space available? What hotels are nearby? Camping? I do need to keep it on the cheap side for cost...and not much time for planning... A little help??? PLEASE!!! | ||

Jpb - here's the link for T.W.O. There are several Buellers that plan on camping, so you'll have company. I think they said it's about $20/night (don't quote me on that). The food at T.W.O. is excellent. Not sure if they have rooms still available, but you could call and check. http://www.twowheelsonly.com/ | ||

Jerry, take a look at Google maps or some such. The I-85 way is long and boring. I'm sure there will be someone to post the way they're coming down. If you do have to come down 85, go to Google Maps and in the search, type in "Greenville SC to Suches GA" That seems to be a pretty decent way to go. NINE DAYS!!! | ||

MapQuest and Google have gotten me to Suches the last two visits. I-85 is boring, but once off the highway, watch for the road signs as there are a lot of turns between the highway and T.W.O. | ||

i've done the Google thing already and know we can get to TWO just fine, was just looking for "insider" info, if any, once we leave 85. i'm no fan of the slab, but time constraints dictate their use on the way down. see y'all soon. FB&D | ||

from Smoke from Buelltoberfast thread on the QB: fellows from here got back monday from their gap trip. one guy got a major ticket, reckless, speeding, double yellow crossing, etc. the guys said 9 state troopers to watch the 11 miles were spotted in action with one at each end to block any runners. y'all be careful and have a great time!!! tim | ||

You'll find that base camp will be TWO. There should be a couple of other Buellers already there. Look for on a shirt or hat. See you tomorrow! |
