Hey Guys!

here were a few of the highlights of the weekend.

Richie, Keith, Ben and I caught some lunch a got in a nice afternoon ride down and back up MO79 while waiting for everyone else to arrive.

1 mechanical problem. Richies battery went dead on him. It wouldn't be an Offical/unofficial Buell event without one mechanical problem. thank god it was something as simple as that!

Flattrack races were cancelled due to excessive rain.:( rescheduled August 26th I believe and I still have the tickets

I get the award for the bonehead decision of the weekend for our rain soaked Friday evening episode!

We went and partook in the local nightlife. Many of us figured it was time to get some sleep when we heard the birds start chirping and saw the sunrise.

Woke, grabed some breakfast, caffeine, aspirin and fueled up.

Rode for approximately 10 am to approx 5 p.m. at a leisurely pace. Ate at the lighthouse inn. You could see the night before on everyones face. Met Bob & John. visited, rode with them a bit and headed back to Quincy. grabbed some pizza and relaxed.

Went to the street party. "At least 3,000 people attended the street party Saturday night." (Quincy Herald Whig) Met another Quincy Bueller. Add him to the Badweb group soon. Went to night club and watched a great band then some DJ Music! This is when FRANK become "the dancing queen" Watched Sam and Jason try to work on thier weekend pickup line! "What do you think about having sex in the rain in a cemetery?"

heard the birds chirping and saw the sunrise.

Roled out of bed and got some Breakfast/Lunch. visited and discussed the aftermath prior to everyones departure.

No tickets or crashes as of departure time. Good hooligan fun seemed to be had by all and it the local law enforcement was Quite compliant with rally attendies. "The Quincy Police Department reported no major problems Friday or Saturday. There was a report of a local biker causing some trouble by squealing his tires at a Quincy bar early Saturday morning, but there were no arrests made" (Quincy Herlad Whig) And trust me! Sam really really pushed it one time!

Pictures will be posted soon! I know the KC guys have a ton also!

Check out the KCMOB section for a few personal details.

Off to catch up on some of that missed sleep!

Keith

p.s. Bob & John, everyone really enjoyed getting the chance to catch up with you guys again!

John,
It was a vapor lock. He thinks he pinched the tube on it. released the gas cap and no more problems.

Keith

p.s. You definately got me on that one! Glad to see you found your keys, those darn things turn up in the wierdest places!

Bob,
I have my daughter this coming weekend, but I will talk to Heather and see what we can work out for the day. Kara works for me now so I get quaility time almost everyday and it gives me a little more lienency on the weekends I have her. Plus she is getting at that age where she wants to do things with her friends all the time. I have REALLY, REALLY been wanting to ride down in that area.

Ben,
you lurking? what do you think? make a whole day of it if I can get away? If they reach Bixby around noon, we can run KK with them and then jump on 19 and get back to Quincy area around 6 p.m. ready for 12 hours in the saddle yet? give me a call.

Bob, I'll let you know if we can make it!

Bob,
Sorry, I am not going to be able to make the sunday ride. My mother just called me and informed me she was having a get together at her house for my grandfathers 83rd b-day and fathers day. I really really hate to miss this ride also. I will be down to make that trip sometime this summer.

Keith

p.s. you better go check out the KC MOb section and defend your honor!! "NICE WINDSHIELD COVER!, pansy!" (shazam) :)

Keith...That's fine as family is very important especially when they're 83...Sing "Happy Birthday" to your grandfather for us...Actually I don't expect many to show up Sunday due to it being Father's Day and the weather...If just a few show we may cut it short depending on what the group wants to do...

Yea, the windshield cover is kinda funky but if it keeps the dash from getting scorched like many have I'll live with it...It only happens when the sun and the angle of the windshield are just right (or wrong)...I didn't have this problem on the beemer and it also had a very thick, curved windshield...But I had a metal after market "dash" installed...I have one to install on the ST13 so maybe that will solve that problem and the cover can go into hiding...

I didn't get to Ted Drewes because of the wx...Spoke with Kevin H earlier and he also canceled due to the rain...I presume Mariabelen and Josh also canceled...

See Ya!

Bob,
I think Sam is just trying to give you a good natured ribbing about the windshield cover. We all understand the reason behind it. If thats the only thing wrong with the ST its very minor and something that you can live with. You seem to be very pleased with the rest of the bike as a whole and that is what is important!

Hell no! We were there 7:30-8:15 on the RS.
This is the Bad Weather Bikers site, right? ;)

Oh, and since the weatherman said it wouldn't rain until 9 I was out in my jeans and leather jacket.... which hopefully will dry by fall.

Jeez Josh you guys are BAD...I left the orifice about 2000 and it was just pouring...Gave the ST13 a good washing, though...I almost turned east on I-44 but thought to myself that I would be the only one there so homeward I went...I take it the RS also needed a bath but did Mariabelen?...Did she get very cold?...Well, TD's will be a weekly thing the rest of the summer so the rest of us will have to take a RAIN CHECK!...I have to be at Donelson at 0845 tomorrow morning for new tires on the ST13...I'm having Avon ST's mounted...Fred Ziglar just spooned a set on his and so far he really likes them...We'll see...They have 2 mm more tread than the Dunlop, Metzler, Bridgestone and Michelin's...

John's coming over to ride in a bit...

Keith, I know Sam is just funnin'...Hey, if you can't take a little bit (or a lot) of kidding you best not run with these dogs...Wait, got to run cover the windshield!...

See Ya!

Hey Slabers
Just wondering if any of you guys are going to the Granite City Half mile Grand National Races tomorrow night? Neil S and I are going over on 4 wheels and delivering a blown S-2 motor to be rebuilt. If Neil gets it out of the frame in the morning! Planing on stoping by Niehause Cycle before the races......If all goes by the plans we have laid.
And we have a Grand National Dirt Short track race just North of Evansville Next Saturday June 21. If any of the Slabers want to go East next week to see a great race!
Later Mark
